Why would anyone complain about reversing? In space it's a perfectly reasonable manoeuvre to use. I find keeping a good distance from smaller ships helps to get a good firing solution.

I think reversing is a good tactic (depending on the ship) people might not like it but they still have to acknowledge that it's there and a part of the game. Just like a lot of things in the game that people don't like. Such as PVP, pirates, gankers etc.
I've always wanted games like Elite to build missions/scenarios around fighting off pirates in trading vessels. Also, as a fan of hard sci-fi, I say mass is a weapon. Ram away!
I asked for help because I'm not a combat pilot. No I'm a 36yr Elite veteran running up & down the trade routes or Gauntlet runs as I call them. People say transportation is not dangerous,.. yeah right, try running the gauntlet with gold, 9 interdictios per gaunlet run. I put my Type-9 to bed and purchased my beautiful Corvette. I run a fully armoured battle ready Corvette with 416 cargo space and yes it has made a difference but I can't fight. All my 5 beans are the best turreted weapons and I have 2 4a cannons, my ship makes banana splits out of Anacondas. It's not my combat skill and if I went up against a human Pilot, well I'd be dead very quickly . I watched a non engineered Type-10 do battle and it was kicking arse. So I wrote, can you teach me how to fight in a Type-9? He said a month later, go watch Vindicator Jones videos. So here I am watching you do combat in a Type-9 but it's engineered. Hi Mr. Vindicator Jones. Can you please show me how to fight without engineering in a Type-9, please? Thank you and don't worry, I don't wear pants either. Thank you
I am kinda on Hiatus at the moment, as my Rig cant play Elite Dangerous right now. (new rig on the way) To be honest, your going to find it VERY hard pressed to outfit a Type-9 for combat with no engineering. It is just way too slow and way too under gunned. Type 10 is the better choice, due to the large hardpoints.. Honestly, try constantly reversing in a type 9 when under attack.. This will help keeping your weapons on target in front of you.. Try and use lots of HRP's
@@VindicatorJones ya i caught that at the end, lol i wondered why they pirates kept complaining about your lack of anything worth pillaging, i would imagine if you had cargo they would have been all over you.
@@waynestuart2755 the build link is to the "proper" template, i.e. the engineered modules that help achieve this dps and flying. Since you can't engineer cargo racks, not much point including them. Most guide builds I see linked have a bunch of missing slots and just provide the relevant main bits. Pretty sure there isn't a conspiracy here.

Watched you when I first started elite in a sidewinder. Now I own vulture type 9 and corvette. And a few others. Fully engineering

Type 9 doesn't have the weapons of the T10 but it should still be a tanky bastard with a fighter. I'm not surprised you did so well.

Use turrets you will never look back literally.
you arent carrying any cargo like you say, when the pirates scan you they say another dud and that you should carry gold, you have no cargo.
As I made a comment at the end of the video.. During editing I noticed I was attacked by hatch breaker limpets, and my cargo was stolen..
