      Totally agree It really is a nice one. I swapped out the pickguard for a mint green one which really brings out the Coral red 😊

    Just got mine in birch green and rosewood. No QC issues with mine out of the box as some have found.
    First time I've been able to afford a guitar with a real Fender decal. Not dissapointed, It's a honey.

    Congratulation with your new Stratocaster. It's my favorite guitar too. Big like 86. All the best Olav

      Thanks Olav, yes it's a lovely guitar. It took me a while to get it to play the way I like and I have also changed the scratchplate to Mint green and it looks just brilliant. I plan to do a full review on this very soon.

    Great looking Strat. Played Bass for years, now switching to lead. My players series Precision Bass is 4 years o;d and plays like new. Set ups are not hard to do, just take your time.Bought one of the Amazon debut Strats for $119.00 Usd and the set up went smooth., adjusted neck relief, adjusted the saddle, did the intonation, changed the strings to Fender 150s. One tip I always do, gind or shave the lead from a pencil and put the shavings in the nut slots, helps with string slippage..

      Yes all good tips. Seen plenty of reviews on the Debut are they as good as people say ??

      How is the 60 buzz from the pickups ? As nice as it seems I think I would probably put ultra noiseless pickups in or go straight to the top and purchase the ultra strat, yes it's expensive but top of the range should hopefully leave nothing to question or regret.

      @@mark_greening_gtr : I love it mate. It's a Fender {player II} Stratocaster with rosewood fretboard, tortoise shell pick-guard. I found that the "feel" of the this {Player II) close in similarities to the Fender {60's Vintera} Stratocaster, which I once owned. Cheers!

    The pickups in the Player II strats are the same ones as in the original Player series. I called and emailed Fender on this and they confirmed it. The guitars with new pickuos are the offset guitars.

    • @mark_greening_gtr
      @mark_greening_gtr  5 месяцев назад

      Yep I saw a Fender RUclips demo where they confirmed this. I've got a series 1 with Maple neck and did a comparison and they do sound quite alike 😀

      @@mark_greening_gtr I have a series 1 aged cherry burst Player with a maple neck as well. Th only other one I was looking at was a tobacco burst with the Pau Ferro fretboard which I do not like. When the Player II necks become available I might pick one up in rosewood and swap it out for the maple neck I have now.

    Mark, do you think 2 post Fender locking tuners, would fit right on, without any modifications? Would they drop straight in?

    • @mark_greening_gtr

      These tuners do a really good job so not sure changing them would be needed, just my thoughts.

    I may be a snob- I only ever buy USA made Telecasters-( I have 3) I find the Mexican ones a little rough around the edges quality wise - Never had a Mex Strat- that one looks great by the way

    • @mark_greening_gtr
      @mark_greening_gtr  6 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks for the comment, this one did come with some issues which I have now resolved so quality was a little off on this particular guitar. Budget and my playing ability would not stretch to something as good as a USA strat 😀

    • @Lez325
      @Lez325 6 месяцев назад

      @mark_greening_gtr glad you sorted out those issues Mark. I bought USA Telecasters to circumvent issues which of the 3 I own have not had any apart from string action hight. Which of course is a personal preference. Enjoy the guitar 🎸 😀

      Can you explain in detail, what did you find so much different in quantity between the USA and Mexican Fender Strats? I have a Squire 60s Classic Vide, and just trust me you are not a perfectionist like me. I have the highest standards possible, Even so I found my classic vide to play and sound great. Of course I actually did the set up myself, It did not come set up from SweetWater. I think if you are very good with tools you can make any guitar play great.
      It’s easy to level the fretboard and round off the fret edges to leave it smooth like silk.
      And adjust the truss rod.

    • @GuitarristaDesconosido
      @GuitarristaDesconosido 6 месяцев назад

      Of course not everyone is an expert fine furniture maker like me.
      So I guess not everyone can set up a guitar and level the fretboard to the standard of a custom shop guitar.😂
      But it’s not that difficult either if you have some experience with tools.😊

      @mark_greening_gtr  6 месяцев назад

      @@GuitarristaDesconosido My CV 60's needed very little work as it wasn't new when I bought it. This MiM strat needed work of which like you I like my guitars to play well. Other reviewers had spoken of other issues with the Player ii series so QC maybe a little off the pace on this run.

    Needs a bit of work.
    Right....MIM.
    So goes that myth about the difference between American made strats and MIM strats, the personnel who make them and where they make them - and that- being the only difference.
    They always need more than a good set up, and that's a drag.

    • @mark_greening_gtr
      @mark_greening_gtr  6 месяцев назад +1

      Agree, to be honest most guitars need some setup, shimming a neck is isn't uncommon though.
