I was having a bad evening playing guitar with just about everything going wrong, other guitars not holding tune camera playing up, laptop playing up, even my trusty Line 6 POD Go did weird things and I even had a dodgy cable to my amp and I was just playing crap. So I decided to let off steam and let you see how much fun this guitar is.

    Great looking Strat. Played Bass for years, now switching to lead. My players series Precision Bass is 4 years o;d and plays like new. Set ups are not hard to do, just take your time.Bought one of the Amazon debut Strats for $119.00 Usd and the set up went smooth., adjusted neck relief, adjusted the saddle, did the intonation, changed the strings to Fender 150s. One tip I always do, gind or shave the lead from a pencil and put the shavings in the nut slots, helps with string slippage..

    Needs a bit of work. Right....MIM. So goes that myth about the difference between American made strats and MIM strats, the personnel who make them and where they make them - and that- being the only difference. They always need more than a good set up, and that's a drag.

      Can you explain in detail, what did you find so much different in quantity between the USA and Mexican Fender Strats? I have a Squire 60s Classic Vide, and just trust me you are not a perfectionist like me. I have the highest standards possible, Even so I found my classic vide to play and sound great. Of course I actually did the set up myself, It did not come set up from SweetWater. I think if you are very good with tools you can make any guitar play great. It’s easy to level the fretboard and round off the fret edges to leave it smooth like silk. And adjust the truss rod.

    • @GuitarristaDesconosido
      @GuitarristaDesconosido Месяц назад

      Of course not everyone is an expert fine furniture maker like me. So I guess not everyone can set up a guitar and level the fretboard to the standard of a custom shop guitar.😂 But it’s not that difficult either if you have some experience with tools.😊

    • @mark_greening_gtr

      @@GuitarristaDesconosido My CV 60's needed very little work as it wasn't new when I bought it. This MiM strat needed work of which like you I like my guitars to play well. Other reviewers had spoken of other issues with the Player ii series so QC maybe a little off the pace on this run.

    From Leo: Good find for a good price. I ordered a Stagg SES 60 a year ago. I was putting together a parts guitar and needed a neck. The Stagg has a roasted neck and the Stagg cost less than a roasted neck separately. The guitar ended up being really decent and I did not scrap it for parts. Do have a 'BulletStrat' HSS, which I 'hard-tailed'... and it is always 'personal' for each guitar player / owner... but my "Bullet" somehow (Pots & Pick-ups)... "Does it"... through a Tweed Blues Junior (and also my old '84 VOX)... Are you going to 'Demo' any of them ? (Squiers ????) and DO like your Stagg Strat !... 🤠... (Play on... Mark'Duff) !

Great condition for 18 years age ! and... apart from setting the 'Action' to your personal preference (?)... am thinking no essential 'need' to "Mod" it at all... Do own a Stagg 'Les Paul' and like their pick-ups above all other Brands... All in all... I would be pleased to own that Stagg Strat... The general rule of thumb Bob is N + 1, or as Joe Bonamassa says 'you can never have too many guitars' 🤣

    That's an M Series Wilkinson trem, MusicLily has full steel blocks for them if you ever want to swap out the zinc one.

    HI mark, im thinking of getting the Eastcost L1 as a beginner, rather than the cheaper Epiphones. How do you find it in terms String action, intonation and the pickup? Thanks.

      Hi, I have two Eastcoast L1's and both were different in terms of setup when I got them out of the box. The one I unboxed (in this video) needed less setting up (just about every guitar I have bought needed a level of setting up) in terms of string action and intonation. The pickups are good (this is subjective as we all have different tastes) though the amp they are plugged into will have a huge effect on the sound you get. I use a Line 6 POD Go so I can tweak the parameters to get the sound I want from that. My advice would be if your in the UK and can get to one of the stores who have a demonstration guitar (Guitar Guitar or Andertons) you can get a feel for the guitar. If possible take someone with you who plays guitar to help or ask instore for advise/help. If you buy on line check the returns policy if your decide the guitar is not for you. Hope this helps.
