You know, there's several channels that are a bit debatable on whether or not they pull their punches when they have guests on the show, but it's refreshing to know that you're not one of them. You guys do nothing but no holds barred cEDH gameplay and I absolutely love it. Thanks so much for your content and I hope for nothing but the best wishes for your crew!
Why the hell would they pull their punches? Oh yeah, its a four persob game where 3 didnt get to play on the first game and 2 on the second. So fucking lame and boring
Turn 1 wins lol. I'm glad you show these games. Lot of channels would just skip them but you show us the blowout games and then add another game or two on top of it to make sure the video is still satisfying even if you dont like blowouts. Good balance overall
This is by far one of my favorite CEDH videos that I've ever seen. The insane combos in the early games, then the change of deck from Ryan being like "I see your bullshit and I'm fed up", and the huge extra turn chain just to fizzle...this video is just so funny
Dante has my utter amazement and respect for that t1 victory. I am just sitting here, banging the two rocks known as Durnan and cultist of the absolute, just trying to get a spark going.
I love Kodama a lot, although I haven't played in a cEDH setting. Incredible to see how well the deck was made and piloted, love to see an unusual combo like that go off spectacularly
Wow. That first game was incredible. But everyone knows that by now. But also, the second game was really interesting, showing exactly how it goes; then the last game turned into a rule-teaching moment; which is always great. I really like that you show in detail the opening hands, and how you cut and sum up the video, as well as the quick analysis at the end of the MVP cards. Really good. Your channel is awesome!
In game 1, at 3:30, Karmic Guide entering doesn't trigger Kodama because Karmic Guide was put into play with Kodama's trigger. Same story at 3:50 when Felidar enters through Kodama. Same story at 4:10 when Restoration Angel enters through Kodama. I noticed this through the narration and immediatly had to write it down, however 40 seconds later he won with infinite etbs haha! The invalid triggers weren't used to win the game, still feel like sharing it though. Great stuff, love the content!
Manoman... Really... This was the best 1 turn win that I had ever saw in my life so far... Beautiful isnt even close to the word I would use to describe it, maybe perfection and chef's kiss?
Dante's Tymna Kodama Abzan deck is my favorite deck of all time. It is so much like my Karador deck I can literally change 8 cards and have nearly the exact same list. The games were fantastic but I will be adjusting my list and using Dante's from now on. I can't believe that Turn 1 win and the resilience in game 3 to push through the pod activation to combo unopposed were amazing. I also have an Aluren I used to play but took out and never found the right deck for it afterwards, I now have that deck. GG's
For the people who hates blue, solve this paradox: "blue counterspells don't let us play!" "without blue cards someone can combo without anyone else play a single turn"
I have never been more inspired to build a deck after watching Dantes list doing what it did in those games, it looks so fun, I cant wait to give it a go!
Also, isn’t there a weird interaction between deflecting swat and underworld breach? I think you can only cast it for its usual cost and not the alternative casting method because underworld breach gives it another alternative casting method and you can’t use both methods
Correct! But in this case mike was hard-casting it with the red floating from Jeska's Will. I was thinking the same thing til I realized he didn't have either of his commanders out.
It's kinda nuts the Acerak won 2 games. If you'd told me that card would be CEDH viable when it was first previewed, I'd have laughed you out. Incredible to see it combo off not once, but twice with two different methods.
Awesome games as always! I just wanted to say that in most instances, sol ring is a better grab than mana crypt off of Urza's Saga. They are functionally the same but you don't have to worry about lightning bolting yourself every upkeep.
If your in Black yes, if your against a "winconless" stax list (aka beatdown) then yes, if you don't meet those conditions then no it's functionly better as someone else mentioned bounce effects are worse on Mana Crypt vs Sol Ring
So I have seen two really powerful Kodama decks now w Tymna and Silas. Has a list been done with Vial Smasher yet? If not can some one hurry up and do that please!
Yes! There is a PWP video that features a Kodama/Vialsmasher list I brewed, although the current list is running different cards and will be under testing with new/other cards. You can find that video here -> ruclips.net/video/hb5f3TjmEOk/видео.html&ab_channel=PlayingWithPowerMTG
The t1 wins were impressive, but it was far more amusing seeing the stolen extra turn spells in the last game, shame he whiffed on hitting bigger cards to finish the game.
I'm a little confused, can some help me understand the Acererak the Archlich loop. Because if I read it right you can only complete the dungeon the 1 time then he will stop bouncing
I have a question about cards getting escape by Breach. Since this a different mechanic from the phrase that a card can cast without paying its mana cost, doesn't a player need to pay the actual costs when casting cards from the grave by Breach then? There was a similar scenario in another game on another channel where this case was clarified. The player actually wasn't able to cast the card (Fierce Guardianship) with Breach and not paying the mana cost. Thanks for the answers.
I don't even blame Kodama for that first game, I blame Jeweled Lotus. Between Lotus and Dockside, the speed in this format is incredibly warped compared to the past.
The many 0 cost mana rocks still have been around for a long time. Dockside really just capitalizes on the big cedh reliance on those many mana rocks. It can also do very little, like in this video it only made 2 treasures when it got cast. Jeweled Lotus, no argument there though.
@@tonyriemenschneider8745 "really just capitalizes on the big cedh reliance on those many mana rocks" is not an argument against the power of Dockside. artifacts are highly prevalent at all power levels of MTG, and in cEDH that remains true. they are a significant part of the game. Dockside is a brutally powerful card and often turns Ad Naus into a 2 mana spell. I am not sure I understand the point in arguing otherwise.

On game 1 I was thinking everyone had some spicy opening hands, didn't know how spicy one of them truly was.
Ryan: I have a pregame action!
And Dante took that personally.
“Turn 1 Kodama wow that’s pretty good.”
5 minutes later
“I didn’t realize how good”

Dude I really love the power yall bring to your games. Actual cedh .
Oops 👀👀👀
That was wild, great line
Good stuff dude!
Good shit!!!
Dante who hurt you 😂
Question. Does entering the dungeon that many times not deck yourself? Since the last room is a *must* draw one card?
Or am I missing something?
i feel like the 1st 2 games are how none CEDH players think CEDH plays.
Wow.
That first game was incredible. But everyone knows that by now.
But also, the second game was really interesting, showing exactly how it goes; then the last game turned into a rule-teaching moment; which is always great.

Phillip Raging over the extra turns has got to be one of my favorite moment in the history of the channel
What the fuck was that turn 1 play 😂

holy moly, that turn 1 win was mindblowing!
"Everyone gets suddenly super scared" 😂
Manoman... Really... This was the best 1 turn win that I had ever saw in my life so far... Beautiful isnt even close to the word I would use to describe it, maybe perfection and chef's kiss?
Ooh... There where another turn 1 kill after the first game, hahaha! That one was nice, but the first one...
WHAT WAS THAT FIRST GAME?!!! HAD TO REWATCH DANTE'S PLAY 5 TIMES TO UNDERSTAND WHAT WAS HAPPENING :D GG!!!
I agree with the MVP card choices. Rather unfortunate that the 3rd MVP card didn't do more work, but that might be unlucky Yuriko triggers too.
That Kodama win was NUTS
Thanks!
Wow I didn't see that game one 1 win coming, it just goes to show just how powerful Kodama is in commander Holy crap
Dante's Tymna Kodama Abzan deck is my favorite deck of all time. It is so much like my Karador deck I can literally change 8 cards and have nearly the exact same list. I saw turn 1 Kodama in his hand but I wasn’t expecting that…

Very interested in Dante's Tymna/Kodama list, and was wondering if there is an updated version I could find somewhere on Moxfield.
Wow. Turn one incredibly convoluted win. Beautiful
I’d love to see a turn one wins compilation
Those games were so lightning fast. Lack of blue deck did show for those 2. Amazing games nonethless. Also loved the last one a lot
I have never been more inspired to build a deck after watching Dantes list doing what it did in those games, it looks so fun, I cant wait to give it a go!
Game one was insane. Great navigating that combo.
It's so cool to see another Abzhan Aluren deck taking tables!
Also, isn’t there a weird interaction between deflecting swat and underworld breach? I think you can only cast it for its usual cost and not the alternative casting method because underworld breach gives it another alternative casting method and you can’t use both methods

This is one of the craziest episodes i;ve seen from yall. Well done! Very cool wins.
Dungeon combo, my love~ So excited to see Acererak combo off
Was that TWO [spoilers]
TWO turn-1- wins in a row?!?!?!?
Sweeeeet Jesus what was that first game?! Holy crap, that's amazing!

It depends. If you think a cyc rift is more likely than you dying to damage then crypt is better. If you think life total matters then go sol ring
Was going to comment the same 😅

I have genuinely never seen an Abzan deck move that fast, frigging sick.

Super entertaining episode. Can't wait to see more.
Wow! What a funny game! Next!
17:12 A WILD FOOD TOKEN APPEARS!
That game 1 turn 1 Tymna/Kodama win was incredible 😱
Yeah, that 1st game shows exactly how bonkers Kodama is not gonna lie that was a little insane
OH MY WOW THE FIRST GAME
AND THE SECOND ONE
And also the third, yeah.
Wow, that was awesome! Game two has a lot to room in those shoes to fill.
Magical Christmas Opening hand Holy wow
Me after seenig this a 20 min video: “we're gonna have a long game here”
Oh boy was I ever wrong
“Oh nice a long grindy game with multiple people presenting wins”
5 minutes later: O H 😳
Omg that turn 1 !!!!! Holy cow!
Guy just won turn 1 one with an abzan deck that warms my heart
Same here my favorite shard
Fuggin...sick games yall. This is some real heat 🤌
That turn 1 win was amazing!
Acererak has never put in so much work in one video
Nasty turn 1 wins
Game 1 was nutty. Especially seeing Dante's opening hand
The t1 wins were impressive, but it was far more amusing seeing the stolen extra turn spells in the last game, shame he whiffed on hitting bigger cards to finish the game.
Dante: You are already dead.
Turn one player one win. Hot damn
Pretty funny to see someone get 3 extra turns and have it not instantly end the game
That's the kind of t1 I have trouble believing.
That game 2 miss play was pretty annoying to watch lol, as a witherbloom payer myself I would have let the rollick resolve
Incredible turn one, wow...
That first turn win tho!!! Holy shit!!
Dante pulling a freaking YUGIOH combo in that game
Mike's playmat is incredible
#FreePlayM
Have they said anything about how to get the tokens they made? Not sure if I missed the announcement or not.
On game one I think you just say "that's dope, we all not bothering to shuffle again, get your new 7 for round 2"
Wow that really were three amazing games!
Dante has such a sick deck really cool to see it
Absolutely based FTK heck yeah
Hilarious 1st game. And the 2nd as well. What the lack of blue does to the game. And 3rd was a proper game and glad blue didn't win.
Me: Plays Sefris of the Hidden Ways seeing Dante win through Dungeons twice, So much yes!
Seeing pattern rector in CEDH makes me so happy
Thanks for the rules explanation in game 3.
Atsushi: hi guys I’m here to watch.
Really wanted to see it do well.
the other players didn't even get to draw a card, what an insane turn.
I'm a little confused, can some help me understand the Acererak the Archlich loop. Because if I read it right you can only complete the dungeon the 1 time then he will stop bouncing
You have to complete a certain dungeon (Tomb of Annihilation) before it stops bouncing. Dante never completes that particular dungeon.
@@PlayingWithPowerMTG ahhh, thanks didn't notice what dungeon it's was. Preciate it

Imagine getting on this show via a patreon slot and 2 games in a row someone else wins on turn 1 LOL
wait how did lost mine of phandelver's draw a card ability not just make dante deck out before killing the table?
Because you only need to do it 40 times total before the table is dead.
Me at the beginning: Wow! I bet Atsushi has got some really cool loops with how much I like Ao, I can't wait to see it in action!
Quite the turn 1 line lol!
i was actually hoping to see Ryan's tevesh + jeska deck in action so i was sad after he changed it
