I'm 13, knew this (at the time was 8) kid since I was 6 on Xbox. We played so much Reach and MW3. We had arguments but we stayed friends. Then we moved on to new games when we got Xbox Ones when I was turning 10, like Ghost Recon Wildlands, a game I now wish I never got. We got into a fight when I was about 11 about engaging the enemy and tactical stuff. We stopped talking for about week and a half after that, then he got off, never seen him since. Wish I could go back and tell him I'm sorry, but today I can't open Reach without almost breaking down in tears. Since I was a year old (2006), I played video games, so growing up I didn't have any friends since nobody played, had, or wanted to talk about video games. And it doesn't help that when I was 5 I moved to a different state, so he was my best friend. We had plans to meet up in real life and live together or near each other (not gay, just as neighbors, like dorms in college). Halo: Infinite might be a hard game for me because of this. But I don't want to forget him or wish I didn't meet him, because I am who I am today because of him.
I still play reach with a few buddys every once in a while, it's too good!

I've never had an experience like how you all have with Halo. In fact, I've never played it. But I can tell, you all, and I mean everyone, have kind souls in you, and I hope someday you and your fellow Spartans will meet again and rise. Rise like the sun coming up on the crack of dawn, like soldiers over a hill, knowing most will die, and most will be injured or handicapped, but all have a glint of hero in their eyes. I wish you all good luck in finding your teammates, no, your friends.
You really should try to access halo, if not on Xbox there’s a PC version. It’s so magical, just pure fun,

So i come here in 2020 to pay my respects to my old squadron. Over Ps3 and Xbox 360. Doesnt matter which devices you played this song will be recognized by all with the common passion. I only was mostly PS3 gamer, but had xbox and loved playing halo, Cod WaW, and gears on it!
You maybe be local to me or all across the world, but the countless hours spent messing around and having a good time. Going from game to game, just getting lost in time and having no real worries. You guys help me through what was probably my darkest era and you guys didnt even know it.
I STILL remember talking about the future and meeting up at a Pax event once we were older and had money saved up. It saddens me that it wont happen and we are all almost strangers to each other now. I hope one day our paths will cross again.
More importantly, I hope gaming is still part of your life!

Up until a few months ago I’d never touched the Halo universe. It’s thanks to my boyfriend I finally got to enjoy it. Though I’m new and haven’t had the history these people have, I still feel moved by it all. Hearing him talk to me about his childhood and the community that meant practically the world to him in hard times… it brought tears to my eyes. The fact I was never a part of it but moved by it nonetheless speaks good things about the community this universe brought about. I wish you all well, my friends. 💙

I met my best friend alyx when i was 10 he was 12 over halo reach.. We met through a guy named aztek warrior.. An he was recruiting for a clan. I was interested so i joined his party an my best friend now of 10 years.. Was interested in the same game types as i was swat,Snipes,slayer... We kept killing eachother 1 point lead ahead or always back an forth.... From that day on we kept playing with eachother almost everyday.... We told eachother one day were going to live together an have our kids be best friends.. An we did have our arguments am fights.. But it happens.. 9 years later he flew me to his wedding flew me down to meet him in person... An now.. Were roomamtes. Hes 22 im 20.. Its crazy how videogames can change peoples lives... I love you halo thank you for everything an all the good moment's...

I remember coming home everyday after being picked on, I'd be in such a shit mood. Didnt wanna talk, or tell my parents about my day whenever they asked. I'd sit in my room on halo, talking to my friends who are thousands of miles away to cheer myself up.
Then slowly as school progressed and time went by. Those friends slowly disappeared until I was the only one left. Now I log onto my xbox unsure what to play. Sometimes I hop onto mcc to watch old theater clips from 360..

Edit 4: so the guy I found wasn’t him but I decided to try and contact his friends friends and work up from there and it turns out that he died a couple years ago, I never found out how but he was into drugs when I knew him (like weed not anything hardcore) but I know that stuff can lead into worse things. Not the happiest of endings to say the least

I remember I played Halo Reach when I was 12, my first gamer girl moment. Even at that age I cried hearing the words “I’m ready! How ‘bout you?” It was the first game I ever played that really made me go “these are my people, my family, and I have to watch them die.”
I never was at the age to play Halo when it was popular, but I understand how you feel.

This is beautiful, it's so soothing and warm like a mum/mom (depending which country you're from) singing to her children like an angel to ease them and comfort them. She hums with reassuring her children they're safe from harm and that she'll always be there to protect them from the evil of the outside world. Sorry for the semantics, but it's an elegant and divine sound that really only comes from my memories as a child. I miss those days, when reality hadn't set in that you're growing up and slowly losing your youth day in day out.

Same. I honestly never played much of the halo games, so I really couldn’t be considered a veteran, but I’ve been gaming most of my life and I’ve felt that same feeling of loneliness. I will always miss the friends that have either never returned to make more memories, along with the friends that I still talk to but never want to play or talk or anything we used to do. I met this guy on destiny 2 with my friend and we played with him for a couple of hours till my one friend got off. Me and him stayed up to 2am talking about life and stuff and he told me that he lives in Canada and he’s divorced from his wife with one kid that they share time with. He was probably one of the nicest people I’ve met for meeting for the first time.

This video made me cry, the way you sing this is so hauntingly beautiful. When I was 8 years old, I met what would end up being one of my childhood best friends. He introduced me to Halo 2, up until this point I had only played Combat Evolved. We would play Halo 2 every day together for around 3 years, we were both so excited for the release of Halo 3, but we still had a year to wait. Unfortunately my friend passed away in a car crash when we were 11 years old, we never got to play Halo 3 together, but I made sure I put in enough hours for both of us. This reminds me of the times when i was 6-8 years old and would spend all day playing the first mission of halo 3 i never got to the end of the game but no matter how much i played i couldnt stop this puts me in tears.
I remember when i would log on to my dads Xbox 360 and boot up halo 3. I would go to the first mission and see master chief wake up from coming down from space i would always think of myself of master chief and role play as i was going along the game.
I remember when i was 6-8 i would go over to my aunts house she was in her twenties and we would play halo reach online... i dont think i got a single kill in all of the time i played but i enjoyed it so much.
I now remember how much halo had an impact on me it it truly emotional.....and they say video games cause violence

God damn this brings back so many memories man...life catches all of us and we get so distracted.. i miss alot of my gaming friends and hope they are doing well. I hope one day i can find them and reconnect with them.
