This is scarily common especially for asmrtists. Even if it’s easy to spot as a deep fake, I can only imagine how violating and downright disturbing it would feel to see a video like that with your face in it without consent. Hope something gets done about it eventually.

This has been a thing for decades. I can guarantee you, if this was really a problem the biggest celebrities in the world would've been in uproar about this. Deepfakes have me worried about the future of evidence in court. Someday soon we won’t be able to trust video evidence anymore. Throw in stuff like porn… It’s scary and dystopian.
I know it's besides the point of the video, but I wouldn't worry too much about what you are saying. There are many ways to know if a video was tampered with, and deepfaking is heavy tampering, so it wouldn't go unnoticed by forensics. Regardless, it is true that a "sponsor" could potencialy not be able to tell the diference, putting the livelyhood of a creator at risk, wich is a big problem. But even that, I think that seeing yourself in something such as what Gibi is speaking about must feel pretty disgusting.

It is messed up, but it is not a novelty by any means. These youtubers want quick fame and money, but then don't want to deal with the (obvious) negative side of fame. When they wake up to reality, sudenly they want the world to change for them... I am of the opinion the internet is supposed to be a meta-reality where almost everything is allowed (in its due «place», of course). The idea of anyone being able to take video of a person, digitally alter it and use that image to make someone appear to do something they would never consent to is, frankly, terrifying. It's the kind of thing that makes you never want to go in front of a webcam ever again.

There may not be any specific laws today protecting victims against deep-fake porn, but I believe that it can be argued in a court of law that it is a form of identity theft. I just watched this and read the whole description, this situation is crazy to say the least, I always knew and thought about Deepfakes as a "special effect" technology used for fanfilms, RUclips videos, and recently even in actual movies, the Corridor Crew talks about them all the time. I also heard multiple times people questioning the morality and legality of using this technology, considering it can basically steal someone's face even without permission, but I never knew that there were people who used it for awful stuff like this. This makes me sad, and upset, I'm so sorry this happened to you and other people, content creators and not, this is horrible. I hope this situation can change for the better soon, we need laws against stuff like this, especially now that there are technologies capable of doing the same with voices, which is a great thing if you want to use them for recreating Val Kilmer's voice for example, for his documentary Val, or Top Gun Maverick, since he can't speak anymore after throat cancer, just as Deepfakes can be good if you want to use them legally, asking permission to people, but again, we definitely need laws to prevent people from using them like this, laws that can protect people, and make justice in situations like yours. I'm so sorry, I recently had something similar, someone had tried to make a deepfake of me and then threatened to send it to my friends and family if I didn't pay them, which I obviously didn't and reported them, but it's crazy how much people can get away with, this needs to stop!
This happened to my best friend. She met a guy online and they would talk sometimes over snap, but he said he had feelings for her, but she didn’t feel the same way. He then edited a picture of her to make it look like she was completely topless, and he blackmailed her into staying im contact with him, otherwise he would share the picture online. This experience hurt her, and will stay with her for the rest of her life. This is absolutely unacceptable and disgusting.

I love that you've made a video talking about this and how it's affected you and people you know. When I found out about deepfake technology and it being advertised to replace a voice actors voice so you don't need to pay them for more work, as well as a myriad of things such as this the changing of someones face it was pretty clear that nothing good is actually going to come of this. I didn't know we'd already progressed to the point of bad things like these happening already but am at least delighted to know there is a group trying to do something about it. How governments just ignore new technologies and struggle to make laws about things that hurt people even after that pain starts is beyond me. So I will be very happy to see what I can do to help out. Because I like my privacy and I imagine so does everyone else. Everyone deserves better than this
The reason there are no laws about it because it is a very small minority of people being affected by it. The U.S government has larger worries than this. I do feel bad for you, but sadly laws will never come into affect unless this problem becomes more widespread.

It pisses me off that despite the obvious issues surrounding internet and social media, that cyber crime laws are lax or non-existent. Shit like this is why so many more youth and young adults commit suicide. I believe suicide is a personal choice but being driven into that option is rarely a choice that didn't come about due to blackmail, bullying, threats, etc. Everyone should have a problem with this behaviour by others, it is never a joke, this shit literally ruins lives. Employers and apartments can come across this shit and think it's real and deny you. The worst part is how can any of us defend ourselves from this? The only option is zero online existence. I feel for you and others in this position, this shit is not okay and anyone who believes it is is a sack of shit with no morals or humanity. Stay safe, stay alert, stay alive.

I've been wondering how long it would take for this problem to start getting addressed. Revenge porn is illegal. Up-skirting is illegal, hell, even normal images without consent is illegal. We also have quite strict laws regarding copyright - surely deepfakes, especially those in a porn context, fall into at least one of these areas, but it's barely even acknowledged.
@@GoldsteinMatney - any time at college I've had to take photos I've had to ask permission to use them. In many shows peoples faces are blurred if they don't consent. The point is consent, and this likeness with deepfakes is clearly violating that consent.

Deepfakes have me worried about the future of evidence in court. Someday soon we won’t be able to trust video evidence anymore. Throw in stuff like porn… It’s scary and dystopian.
I know it's besides the point of the video, but I wouldn't worry too much about what you are saying. There are many ways to know if a video was tampered with, and deepfaking is heavy tampering, so it wouldn't go unnoticed by forensics.
Regardless, it is true that a "sponsor" could potencialy not be able to tell the diference, putting the livelyhood of a creator at risk, wich is a big problem. But even that, I think that seeing yourself in something such as what Gibi is speaking about must feel pretty disgusting.

I remember reading some very inappropriate comments on ASMR videos 8 years ago, so I’m disgusted, but not surprised that something like this is happening. Hey Gibi, I just saw this. Firstly, I had absolutely no idea you were going through this. It's a very dark and crappy situation, and I'm hoping that you can receive the justice that you seek.
There may not be any specific laws today protecting victims against deep-fake porn, but I believe that it can be argued in a court of law that it is a form of identity theft. If you haven't already, I would reach out to a lawyer to gain some further insight into what can be done

I just watched this and read the whole description, this situation is crazy to say the least, I always knew and thought about Deepfakes as a "special effect" technology used for fanfilms, RUclips videos, and recently even in actual movies, the Corridor Crew talks about them all the time. I also heard multiple times people questioning the morality and legality of using this technology, considering it can basically steal someone's face even without permission, but I never knew that there were people who used it for awful stuff like this. This makes me sad, and upset, I'm so sorry this happened to you and other people, content creators and not, this is horrible. I hope this situation can change for the better soon, we need laws against stuff like this, especially now that there are technologies capable of doing the same with voices, which is a great thing if you want to use them for recreating Val Kilmer's voice for example, for his documentary Val, or Top Gun Maverick, since he can't speak anymore after throat cancer, just as Deepfakes can be good if you want to use them legally, asking permission to people, but again, we definitely need laws to prevent people from using them like this, laws that can protect people, and make justice in situations like yours. I'm so sorry, I recently had something similar, someone had tried to make a deepfake of me and then threatened to send it to my friends and family if I didn't pay them, which I obviously didn't and reported them, but it's crazy how much people can get away with, this needs to stop!

This happened to my best friend. She met a guy online and they would talk sometimes over snap, but he said he had feelings for her, but she didn’t feel the same way. He then edited a picture of her to make it look like she was completely topless, and he blackmailed her into staying im contact with him, otherwise he would share the picture online. This experience hurt her, and will stay with her for the rest of her life. This is absolutely unacceptable and disgusting.

I love that you've made a video talking about this and how it's affected you and people you know. When I found out about deepfake technology and it being advertised to replace a voice actors voice so you don't need to pay them for more work, as well as a myriad of things such as this the changing of someones face it was pretty clear that nothing good is actually going to come of this. I didn't know we'd already progressed to the point of bad things like these happening already but am at least delighted to know there is a group trying to do something about it. How governments just ignore new technologies and struggle to make laws about things that hurt people even after that pain starts is beyond me. So I will be very happy to see what I can do to help out. Because I like my privacy and I imagine so does everyone else. Everyone deserves better than this
Yup, the triple whammy of deepfake faces, voice, and AI art created to perfectly mimic artist styles is a shambling horror.
The reason there are no laws about it because it is a very small minority of people being affected by it. The U.S government has larger worries than this. I do feel bad for you, but sadly laws will never come into affect unless this problem becomes more widespread.
The US government has worse issues like mass immigration, wake up and face reality.

It pisses me off that despite the obvious issues surrounding internet and social media, that cyber crime laws are lax or non-existent. Shit like this is why so many more youth and young adults commit suicide. I believe suicide is a personal choice but being driven into that option is rarely a choice that didn't come about due to blackmail, bullying, threats, etc. Everyone should have a problem with this behaviour by others, it is never a joke, this shit literally ruins lives. Employers and apartments can come across this shit and think it's real and deny you. The worst part is how can any of us defend ourselves from this? The only option is zero online existence. I have a feeling that even with laws trying to prevent this, it's going to become increasingly more difficult to stop this. I feel like you can end up bogged down in endless court battles trying to prove these images/videos aren't you, proving who actually created them, etc. However, I wish you the best of luck in your endeavors.

Revenge porn is illegal.
Up-skirting is illegal, hell, even normal images without consent is illegal.
We also have quite strict laws regarding copyright - surely deepfakes, especially those in a porn context, fall into at least one of these areas, but it's barely even acknowledged.

In many shows peoples faces are blurred if they don't consent.
The point is consent, and this likeness with deepfakes is clearly violating that consent.
