Honestly I would kill for a therapist like this. She seems just intimidating enough to bully me into getting my life together but safe enough that I'd feel like I'm in good hands and can open up
Gibi definitely understands what I believe is the best way to do these videos. The arbitrary low stakes questions are perfect for distracting the viewer enough that they focus on the video but with no pressure to think too deeply or introspectively. these therapist videos can be good but a lot of people start asking questions like "what's your biggest regret" or "what is stressing you out most right now" and while that's accurate, it's not relaxing. especially since a low of people who watch asmr are likely to already have high levels of anxiety. really liked this one!
Although, weirdly enough, I feel like the low stakes are also kinda genius in fiction. Like, say, the potato question. Such an innocuous and weird thing to ask but the two options can potentially say something about a person - the question can have layers. A potato could be more similar to broccoli because both are veggies, or because they taste more similarly compared to bread. On the other hand, maybe you think that the structure and color of a potato makes it more similar to bread, or the fact that potatoes can be just as much of a staple food as bread, making them more similar "in spirit". The question truly disarms the subject through it's seeming absurdity and allows the person to, thus, bear themselves in their inner fragility and openness due to not suspecting the underlying analysis criteria.

Sounds: humming of A/C, unintelligible whispers/speaking, rummaging through pencil case, writing on whiteboard, writing sounds on paper, nervous tapping, calculator typing, keyboard typing, teacher pouring coffee, pages turning, paper rustling, stapling, etc. I don’t know if this is possible but I remember in high school this being one of the first times I noted the satisfaction of sounds/tingles before I knew what ASMR was!!

@@gummipop I'm guessing you're American judging by the AP class. I'm in the UK so my experience may differ to what you get. It's a hell of a lot of reading, easily over 150 pages of various books and papers per week. From my experience, the people you'll meet will be incredibly friendly and it's not as competitive as other courses. Also, expect to develop a hatred of some aspect of psychology (my arch nemesis has become evolutionary psychology). Hope all goes well with the AP's
