Thanks for sharing. Manics on fire! All four boys together and looking and sounds great. I love Richey enjoy playing and smiling. Nicky in full Dot Cotton drag only the girl. James's vocal is powerful and so was Sean without fail. I think drug and overdose was rife in 90s but hopefully youths learned to avoid and take care of mental health and boredom better. I just went to Trentham live and it was great. Nicky as always mentioned Richey, our beloved genius and forever stay beautiful Sweet Boy.
I saw them at a gig last week & they did play La Tristessa Durera & From Despair to Where, but yeah no other tracks from Gold Against the Soul really make it onto their setlists anymore. I was sort of hoping they’d play Roses in the Hospital or something, but I can see how the lyrics from that song & some of the other ones from that album (for instance, Yourself) might make them not want to play them anymore. But still, some great lyrics & great music on that album.
He’s not miming! You can hear Richey playing especially at the start of the song 0:08 in the right channel with headphones. And after James finishes the riff at 1:17. It can be hard to differentiate between guitars, but just compare their Reading 94 performance with Glastonbury 94, Richey wasn’t the best guitarist but he could play & did fill out the sound, as that’s what a rhythm guitarist does.
When James looks over at Richey during the solo and Richey smiles 😊
'So much fun to be had in my tent' LOL!

I always liked this song. Such a pity that the band never plays it. Gold against the soul has been banned from their live shows lately.

loving these, will there be more?
Learnt to play this last week. One of my faves. But I can't unsee the fact Richey is miming here.

Thirty years, like half a generation or one.
