    Awesome landscaping . Whoever planned the town can definitely design nature . Very beautiful town .

      originally owned and developed by Newhall Land and Farm. most of the community is master planned and yes, overall they have done a pretty good job of it.

    We moved away in 1994, and when we look back we realize it was the best place we ever lived!

    300,000 people and growing? I remember when there was 8,000 people and not a single traffic light. Orwell George..

    I used to live there for a while. Nice safe streets, neighborhoods, and walking paths. There was a pizza place near the mall that I liked. Hopefully the COVID lockdowns did not hit the businesses too hard there.

      Topper's Pizza nearby the mall and it's still there. In fact, we just picked up a pizza last week.

    BTW, don’t forget the extremely DENSE traffic you’ll also be forced to deal with once COVID is over. The 5 Freeway North-South is the ONLY artery in and out of the Santa Clarita Valley and it’ll add 45-60 minutes onto your commute EACH WAY when everything returns to normal.

      You are right! During the morning rush hour, there is southbound traffic on I-5 and the 14. Northbound during the evening rush hour. Amount of time depends on the exact departure time, if any accidents, etc.

      Hi Zak Yes, our family started out here back in 1976 which is a good bit of time. We've seen the community grow into what is is today and even though not big on change, the city has done a pretty good job with master planned neighborhoods and keeping things orderly. The only thing I would like better is if we were bit closer to the beach! It does get pretty hot during the 2 hot months during the summer. Not too bad.

    I wanted to go up to Castaic Lake but school commitments wouldn't let me

    • @gregoryrealestategroup
      @gregoryrealestategroup  3 года назад

      Yes, the lake is great fun and the whole Castaic area has changed dramatically in the last 25 years. At one time it was pretty much a busy truck stop and a lake. Now, it's so much more.

    I live in the Central Valley and prefer the Bay Area to So Cal. However, if I had to live in SoCal, I'd choose one of the suburban cities in the Santa Clarita Valley, or bypass L.A. all together and live in the San Diego area.

    • @gregoryrealestategroup
      @gregoryrealestategroup  2 года назад

      Yes, the Central Valley is gorgeous. It's much hotter here in the summer months and lately we have not been getting much rain. Unfortunately, we don't have all the beautiful greenery seen up north.

    Hi. Would it be possible to find a fully furnished studio in SCV, possibly close to Freeway 5 for daily commute to Burbank?

    Better bring your own water they do not have much

    • @gregoryrealestategroup
      @gregoryrealestategroup  2 года назад +1

      You are right about the water! Currently we are mandated for a 20% reduction. It seems like that happens about every 5 years, then we finally have a rainy season and we're okay for a few years.

    It was way better when we could ride dirt bikes all over that land.

    • @gregoryrealestategroup
      @gregoryrealestategroup  3 года назад

      Yeah, I miss that too. Also, back in the 1970's The Valley West Archers had a field archery range where I use to go shooting as a child. Unfortunately, the old field range is gone and the land has been replaced with housing developments. Even though the communities are nicely developed, it's unfortunate the undeveloped areas are disappearing. Yes, there are now some protected open areas, but the use is mostly limited to hiking.

    All that natural wild habitat paved over to build this ugly, artificial, car-based nightmare. The whole place looks like a giant shopping mall.

    • @gregoryrealestategroup
      @gregoryrealestategroup  2 года назад

      Actually, the planners have at least designed and protected quite a bit of lovely open space. It looks especially nice in the spring time. There's even a 150-acre Oak Preserve over in Westridge. There are many miles of protected hiking trails and no motorized vehicles are allowed. However, with all that, it's just not possible to have a city of homes and neighborhoods without building.
