So when something bad happens to somebody it's the government's responsibility to take care of them and pay for the rest of their lives? Bad shit happens to people all the time America would be broke in 2 years if they had to take care of everybody with a hard luck story....

    • @lblayde

@Atom Burnt no america wouldn't they go to war and spend billions destroying that country and than give them billions of tax payers money to rebuild that country, all the while we need that money to end homelessness, women and child abuse shelters. The us gov spend billions giving free covid ppp money to people who didn't need it, they where babies and that happened to them ,they wasn't drug dealers ,or kids robbing. If it was a person that doesn't need to experiencei poverty these are the kids. Plus I think it's already a victim of crime fund here like $10k

@@Elyricist746 you on one dude. It's kind of fucked what you're saying in a lot of ways. He's gone through something extremely traumatic and lives with the repercussions everyday. Did he focus on hating his uncle? No. He said he didn't forgive him, but that makes sense since most people don't forgive murderers of their family members. He said he wants to be beyond the beef and wants people to put down their guns. He sounds nonviolent. Not one sentence did he talk about retribution or revenge- just how hard it is, he want to provide for his kid, and that he misses his family that was murdered. He honestly seems like a chill dude. I'd smoke a blunt with him.
I wonder why you think he had "hate in his eyes" when no one else thinks so, it seems pretty sus. Your reasoning is highly questionable and very possibly problematic. Have some respect both for yourself and the victims stop being a twat.

When he said he didnt forgive his uncle, could you blame him for saying this? I would feel the same way. I mean, his uncle literally murdered his mother, father, and 2 younger siblings as well as tried to kill him and 2 of his other siblings. How could you forgive someone like that? This man, along with his 2 other siblings have to live the rest of their lives knowing what happened to them and wondering what they did to deserve this. They will forever be traumatized because of this and will most likely have trust issues the rest of their lives. They have all been robbed literally of their childhoods. The fact that he kept saying he thought it was a dream and then passed out in the bathtub and woke up and had to relive the horror and had to realize no its not a dream, this is what was really done to your family by your own family. No. I would not forgive him either. Ever.

Of all the many First 48 episodes I watched, this episode broke my heart and brought out emotions I haven't felt since I was a young child. I have not watched the show since this episode. It was so sad and I felt like an intruder into this story of their lives. A tragic story. In my younger days, we threw hands, both of us went home a winner and we moved on. Guns, knives or baseball bats, etc.. Any weapon you place in your hands makes you what you are. You have the choice to throw hands or grab a weapon. Too many folks scared of an ass whoopin. God Bless CJ and his sister and brother. But God please look over the mother of the 2 brothers. I can not imagine the pain of knowing what one son did to his own brother and his family. She and CJ and the Memphis PD really opened my eyes to just how much worse it could be in the life of a child. I only thought my life was unfair. CJ, in my opinion is the voice of the young people in Memphis. His life has been full of tragedy and could be a valuable asset to the youth of that entire city. His story, his voice, his weapon. Good luck CJ. And I'm so sorry this happened to your family. I'm praying for you all and Memphis in general.

CJ.. I'm a Memphian as well and your story and what you went through / no one should have to go through what you went through. Something that was so bad, there is also beauty in this story. Your willing to not give up and your strong will to survive / bru you were not suppose to survive - but you did survive and you are here as well as your 2 siblings... I know you are at the age of adulthood and you are a young man who makes his own decisions. The city of Memphis has failed you if you are not receiving some kind of therapy/ someone to talk to at anytime you need to talk about anything... And if you are a friend and close to CJ - your friendship is so important for this young man. I can not stress it enough we as a community need to be there for CJ and his 2 siblings. Lastly CJ, man to man - there is never a reason to put your hands on a female - NO reason bru... You are damn near continuing the cycle - not on the same level as your uncle obviously but it is violent behavior you are doing to another person.... Stay positive young man and live your life to the fullest and don't get caught up in anything negative - just like you said. You only deserve everything that is good and positive... I hope u do read this and hopefully resonates with you ..

This is an age old tragedy like Cain and Abel. Even though he has endured this tragedy, he is still not in a good place at all and still suffering. He’s been to prison, more domestic violence in his own home, selling drugs, not in good health. Where were the resources for this family? What happened to the community support? How does this happen? My prayer is that he comes to the knowledge and salvation of Christ Jesus. After all the tragedy, it would be awful if this young brave man lost his soul. CJ I am praying for you and I hope that you know Jesus the Christ in the pardon of your sin; to know Him-- Jesus as your LORD and Savior. He alone will save you and keep you in perfect peace. What happened to him was awful but he is headed for destruction. Smoking weed, beating his "baby mama", in and out of jail. The cycle continues. He need a mentor, life coach and therapist.

He just needs some education and some good people in his life. Some people who can show him a better way.He could take a few classes and get his speech in order to become a motivational speaker. The world needs him.

@@Ra55itwife55 Sure but I know that if he could take a few classes and learn the correct speech and word patterns, he could make great money as a SPEAKER. Speakers have to learn how to speak and learn the correct linguals to describe their experiences in a way that people will pay to hear his story.
