I assume you mean a mosaic tile that has smaller pieces? With patience, you probably could, but this is something I have not done. I wish I had a better answer, but I'm just a homeowner and not a professional. I've only ever worked with larger pieces of tile.
I love how you got frustrated with your clamp. I wonder what clamp would be best for tile? I guess if you clamped it down with metal that it would break the tile? I have no idea. I would be in the same boat as you where it slides all over the place.
With the jig saw, I would recommend putting a board, just wider than the tile under it just shy of the cut line. It will add support and you can actually put a few nail into it to hold the back side. Obviously the nails will have to be just shy of the top of the tile.
From what I understand, you can cut limestone tile just like any other tile. I'm not a pro though and have never worked with limestone. I would just go a bit slower. I believe limestone will chip a little easier than standard tile.
So you don’t put the whole sheet and cut at one time? And u break them out single pieces then title back in without the mesh? First time trying this and I didn’t know that.
You could put the whole sheet in. I was just demonstrating the process of how it works. Just make sure you have the mosaic perfectly square within the cutter. That way everything will line up perfectly when you put it in place.
I know this video was years ago but do you know you used a metal cutting disk to but porcelain tile? You would be much better off using a diamond tile or masonry disk
The disks I used were mean't for masonry only. These are the ones I used. www.homedepot.com/p/Avanti-Pro-4-in-x-1-16-in-x-5-8-in-Thin-Kerf-Masonry-Cutting-Disc-PBD040063101C/202830990. Diamond would have been better, but I didn't have that in the budget just for a youtube video, plus I'm just some dude in a garage. Not a pro. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the vertical cut advise I broke 3 tiles was going to use my diamond blade on my angle grinder until I saw this
Thanks for the share! I think I'll be avoiding the jigsaw and sticking with the grinder
Nice shout out to my favorite uncle bumble, always keep the safety squints nearby.
Thanks for the share.can we use scoring tool for backsplash tile? Since the width will be smaller.Any suggestion would be helpful.

Exactly my situation thanks dude!
Glad the video was helpful!

Yeah, that was my least favorite method. I think the jigsaw would work better with a more substantial tile. Thanks for watching!

Could you use the first option on limestone mosaics? I'm assuming not...

Please please please use a respirator if not using a wet saw. Tile dust is very hazardous
Agreed. I didn't in the video for sake of making it easier to record, but I should have said something. This goes for anytime you're using a grinder.
thanks for the help. I thought that jigsaw stood a chance
Glad I could help!

@@selfrelianceontrial5486 ah I see. They look like regular metal cutting disks from a distance.
