  • Leah of Seejanedrill demonstrates how to cut small mosaic tile using a manual tile cutter. If you don't have a wet saw or feel uncomfortable using a wet saw, a manual tile cutter is an good option. It is worth noting that cutting tile with a manual tile cutter can be time consuming.

First time attempting to add a backsplash to my kitchen. I was extremely worried about how could I cut the hexagon shape ceramic tile without spending the money on a wet saw that I plan to use only for this project. I reviewed several of your videos from how to repair damage drywalls, how to mud to include this one. You have a gift and I want you to continue making videos for people like me with little or no experience. You warm, patience voice and knowledge gave me the will to complete my project with ease. Thank you!

This worked great for redoing the shower/bathtub of my kid's bathroom. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxfiuHoZJo3bgdVPFRxQ-iqPpfbEHl2cYt I didn't like the guide, so I took it off. I just used a fine tipped sharpie on the tile and followed that line. It does make a wet mess, and once I started looking like I wet myself I started wearing a towel and apron while cutting. The blade it came with worked great until we wore it out. It was better than the replacement one we bought. I tried looking for just their blade, but failed. Not really for larger tiles unless you stack stuff on either side to support the tiles. Anyway, would definitley buy again.

Best DIY advice I've gotten is from Leah. I appreciate that you're keeping in mind that we don't all have the money, knowledge, and patience to invest in expensive tools that might not be good for this type of job. I have the other equipment, but this approach is much easier and more likely to give me the results that I'm looking for!

Was about to spend money on mini saw to cut mosaic tile for shower floor. Tried cutting with my manual tile cutter but noticed that tile snapping attachment was too large to cut tile. Using the piece of wood to snap the tile is such an awesome idea. Great stuff. Thank you so much. Many blessings.

Leah, there is one huge advantage to the method you demonstrate here that you did not mention. If you try to put that panel of small tiles and backing on a wet saw the backing will get wet and separate from all the tiles that get wet. If you want to use a wet saw you have to mark all the tiles in the cut, remove them from the backing, cut them and then individually place them on the surface being tiled. I watched a friend do this with exactly the pattern of tile, and size, that you use in the demo. I swore I’d never use a small tile on a backing! What a great trick you have here. Cut the entire row with no water and maintain the integrity of the backing. Nice! Thanks!
