Unfortunately nowadays in music many people (especially in ESC and JESC but not only) pay more attention to the scenic design and all the show around, than to the music itself. There were some artists here who just stood on the stage singing and maybe playing (which should be the most normal thing for musicians) and were really good at it, but ended up in low positions because of the poor appearance, because people judged them for things that have nothing to do with music. Even here, on YT, there are many my-top-16's videos with comments that focus so much on the stage rather than on the music. I'm glad to see this is not the case (6th place is the highest I've ever seen Italy, and I've seen a lot of personal rankings in the past days).
The Albanian girl and the Macedonian girl both did an outstanding performance, and should have reached the top 3. The two Italian girls also did very well and deserved a high position (here maybe I'm biased because I'm Italian). The girl from Malta was also very talented but the song was terrible, so I can agree with her not being in high positions. Anyway, all of them did a very simple performance, as used to be normal decades ago, and were very good, but reached lower position than countries that made huge shows on the stage but, if we consider the music, were not that amazing (even if I want to say that ALL the artists were talented).
Anyway, I agree with France's victory. For the music itself (the song and the singer's ability to sing), not for other reasons.

It was really hard to put someone in the last position, actually none of them deserved to be in the last position. But someone had to be.
I see that you, just like me, have some opinions that are different than those of most people (and may therefore be unpopular): Macedonia and Portugal so high, while Germany, Ukraine and Netherlands so low, it's something I definitely haven't seen in other personal rankings. Good, music (like all arts) is a matter of opinions, no opinion is right, no opinion is wrong.

I am sorry, but Armenia might be 3rd, but their not winning again. If TG4 play their cards right and put Sophie Lennon on stage, then forget it. So Junior Eurovision will either be somewhere in Ireland next year or in Glasgow end of conversion.
