Really enjoyed your video! Thank you so much for not covering up the whole video with music. I really love hearing the quiet nature sounds of the North Woods.

If you are going to be there late may and early june. Throw top water lurs as close to shore and brush as you can't get. Especially where there are logs in the water. Tiny pop r by rebel. Also, gets yourself a rear drag reel. That front adjustment is a pain. Luckily you didn't lose those big ones. Thanks for making video
@@Anotherfishingshow that's the real I have. But with quick fire casting. Set it tight to set the hook then loosen it for the fight if it is a big fish

Good evening! Congratulations, beautiful Video. Hugs and good fishing!👍🎣🐠🐟😊
Very nice video guys. I know the feeling of being up there when its raining. I was up there for 5 days and it rained consistent for all 5 days. Make the best out of it and have fun! The fish still bite in the rain up there!
What do you do with the waste after you have gutted and cleaned the fish? I'm sure you can't just toss it in the woods as a nice way to attract critters and especially large black critters, you know the one you're trying to keep your food away from.
Loved the video guys. Heading there in September for our annual trip. This year it’s a father and sons trip. Three fathers and four sons this year. Going in at Sawbill heading to Cherokee for two days then on to South Temperance for two then to Burnt for the final two and back out to Sawbill.
Have had good luck on North and South Temperance. Burnt too. Usually the weather dictates but it's all good fishing. It's important to remember that a bite can be totally different in a lake right next door. If it is a slow bite, grab your gear and try another!
I wish I could do this but I have MS and I tire easily. When tired, I'm not so stable walking and trying to do that with a heavy pack or canoe is hard to imagine. I've been working out in the weight room for the last year and half. So I hope I can get my self to that point. I would love to fly home to Minnesota for a trip like this.

Its in the beginning of the Vid Andy. I show the route on google maps. There are 2 ways to do it. This is the path of least resistance. The other route has rocky, steep portages.
Where was the campsite located on Gaskin Lake that you guys stayed in. I'm planning our trip for September 2019 and this the lake are going to stay on for a couple of days before moving on to Caribou by way way of Pilsbery.
I always bring 2 piece rods. Strap them under the gunnels with these: www.bdbcanoe.com/bungee-dealee-bobs-tie-down-for-outdoor-enthusiasts-canoeing-camping-hiking-mountain-biking Also I bring 2 rods! Not much trouble and light. Rods stay strapped in on the way in and out.
Great video but please keep your soap out of our pristine lakes. Part of leave no trace is not filling the lake with suds. Read the back of your permit.
Too funny... I just paused the video to write the top water comment below . Went back to video and someone went top water. Top water is all my brother do late may and june. Bass are spawning. Big females lay eggs and go deep. Small males guard the nest

No, No, No - You do not "jump in the lake with a bar of soap." No soap in the lake. See Rule No. 10, on the backside of your permit. Nor can you have a glass bottle. See Rule No. 7.
Ahhh yes! Good ole Dr. Micgillicutti's. Nectar of the Gods. Plastic bottle. There is a great liquor store in Grand Marais that can get whatever you need in plastic. Lighter too.
Felt like I was there. Great show. Thanks, Pete. Brought back a lot of memories.

Thanks Aaron! Still sending a bill for that tow :) have a great trip!
Seeing Burnett in the front of a canoe brings back some great memories. Great video Pedro. Loved how the hammer handle stuck that hook in your hand.
😆 bought me a fish gripper. It only took 30 years.
Having Burnett in a canoe is priceless.

Agreed Tim! Nothing worse than a drag causing a lost fish. Somehow I always turn the wrong way. Thanks for the kind words.
@@Anotherfishingshow I have been watching my brother struggle with front drag for decades.
The struggle is real! Pretty sure the fightin' drag Shimano makes was built specifically for me.

Great video, what was that tarp with the screen? Looked awesome!
great video!!!

Great question Jeff. We always clean fish away from the site. And bury in the woods.

Great video... Can you supply the route that you took? Might have missed it in your description.
Its in the beginning of the Vid Andy. I show the route on google maps. There are 2 ways to do it. This is the path of least resistance. The other route has rocky, steep portages.
Nicely done.
Thanks Joe!
Beautiful video! (Psst- you're holding the bent paddle the wrong way)
So many distractions! 😆
Great episode 👍🐟😁
Tom Starcevich Thanks!
Thanks for sharing your trip. Will you be doing a BWCA video annually? Will you be bringing Greg soon?
Upper Lip Outdoors Thanks! Its a yearly event for me! Greg might need some convincing.
Another Fishing Show well, if your video and the fishing isn’t enough, I don’t know what would do it. Keep up the good work!
Fantastic video Pete. You guys deserve way more subs than you have. I wish I could sub more than once. Thank you for taking me along on your trip!!
Thanks so much!
Nice video Pete! That is one trip I've never done. I'm starting to think it's something I need to do more and more.
Loved it! Good job on the video editing!
Appreciate it!
Awesome video! I'd love to make it up there some day!
It should be required of all U.S residents!
U should try saganaga or northern light lake some time that's the true bwcaw or try sag- Trafalgar
On the to do list Garrick!
🤘Well done
Thanks Jacob!
How was Clearwater Outfitters? I'm looking at using them next year.
They are a great outfitter! Actually we didnt use them. We used Rockwood at our entry point. Clearwater was just our cabin rental..
Try the quetico out you will really enjoy it.
On the bucket list!
What time of year were you guys there? I'm planning on going in June. Nice video guys.
Thanks! Late June - early July..
Where was the campsite located on Gaskin Lake that you guys stayed in. I'm planning our trip for September 2019 and this the lake are going to stay on for a couple of days before moving on to Caribou by way way of Pilsbery.
Its on the West side wayne. Directly east of the 3 islands.
Another Fishing Show
Thanks. I’ll check it out. Thanks again.
Found it. I looked it up on Paddle Planners.
There is one other site built for VP Mondale when he would visit. Its on the East side island. Both are awesome sites.
Colors are fantastic. Did you use a colored filter for the camera? Or just some optimum camera settings? Super trip report.
Thanks! Sweetened the footage in post production. Its hard to make that place as awesome as it really looks!
Wondering what tarp that was that had the netting on the sides?
Nemo tent!! Such a huge bonus on a bad day. And mosquito refuge. I think they have 2 sizes. Thats the big one. 16x16 maybe?
Great watch Pete!! What are you using for a camera?
Thanks! Had 1 gopro for all of the locked shots. Everything else was a samsung s9. Gotta pack small up there! Batteries where the toughest part.
What kind of bug house are you guys using?
Nemo 12x12. They also make a 9x9. Last one i could find was at midwest mountaineering in Mpls..
Do you have any tips for carrying rods over portage?
I always bring 2 piece rods. Strap them under the gunnels with these:
www.bdbcanoe.com/bungee-dealee-bobs-tie-down-for-outdoor-enthusiasts-canoeing-camping-hiking-mountain-biking
Also I bring 2 rods! Not much trouble and light. Rods stay strapped in on the way in and out.
what kind of bait are you using
Leeches mostly. Troll with spoons and raps.
Never adjust your drag while fighting a fish. Set it right before you start and leave it. Great video at 28.40 of topwater bite, and sunset at 30.15!
No doubt. Curse of the cheap reel! Light setting slips on a hook set. Tight setting playing with fire.
Brook trout are native to Minnesota.
Great video but please keep your soap out of our pristine lakes. Part of leave no trace is not filling the lake with suds. Read the back of your permit.
Thanks Marc. Only a joke. I actually refused to bathe to prove to my wife I was in the woods.
On The big walleyes . Just slide your hand under there belly and pick them up. The fish stay calm
Thanks Tim! Good advice. Just need a big eye now :)
Great Trip. Lose the loud music!

Please don't jump into the lake with a bar of soap in the BWCA!
A joke Matt! Wasted space in my pack.
Don't put soap in the lakes
Just a joke Bernard. Sage advice.

Agreed. It's a joke Jay. Although sandpaper would have worked better.
