Thanks for a great video. I have the original TGT base. When you mentioned fatigue that resonates with me. Especially doing rally games, it's a long race, arms get tired. I'm in my senior years
Interesting video, I use the TGT II and have been checking out the T598. I find a high sensitivity but lower FFB on the TGT II works great. FFB down to around 4 and sens at 10, then with a really heavy down force car maybe FFB 3. Still plenty of weight but you get the finer details still.
- Select "FFB3" - Master gain = 100% - Mode = E (Extreme) (or S if you want a less reactive FFB) - Inertia = According to your preference (MID or HIGH if you have some oscillations) - Friction = OFF (or LOW or MID if you want to decrease oscillations) - Boost Low = + 2 (less if you want less vibrations effects) - Boost High = + 2 (less if you want less vibrations effects) - Speed = EXT (Extreme) - Damper = always keep at 0% (important as damper will reduce a lot FFB details) - Spring = the slider is automatically adjusted by the game (not necessary to change) - Gear Jolt = High - End Stop = High
I've had the T598 about a month. Coming from a G923 . Its an amazing wheel. Really need the pedal upgrade like yesterday or at least stiffer springs or polymer inserts. Thats my only gripe about it.
such a shame you cant adjust fov in cockpit cam on gt7.. youed have 1-1 scale on that scree.. if you have AC1 on pc have you done any LFM? you have to install a couple mods and the cars and tracks the series you wanna race in is using but so far its been the best ranked racing experience ive had.. the ferrari 296gt3 series has been great fun.. getting in to lmu which runs great in vr but ffb isnt as good as AC1
TGT2 for life here! I love to feel the road and having a blast in GT7 VR. Also technically 598 is a downgrade if you look at cost and strength of wheel. They are hoping the Direct Drive jargon will sell it because people were begging for a direct drive wheel.
Yes correct, if they came with something like the T818 heads would have loved that, but they trying to cater to entry level market but with a DD, which will make a lot of Thrustmasters loyal customers unhappy, including me, as the next logical step would of been to release a wheel base stronger than the TGT II, I've now jumped ship to Fanatec... final straw
@@ArmegedonNow Don't blame you fam. I spent too much on Thrustmaster add ons so stuck but having fun. I have Playseat Evolution chair. Do you recommend a better sim chair? I hate the pole in between legs!
@forbidden76 yh same, I just had to bite the bullet still lol, look at getting a simrig from next level racing. They are one of the best with a very wide range my g.
I messaged Thrustmaster and asked "Do you have any idea when the T598 will be available to purchase servo base by itself? And do you have any idea what the price will be? Thank You!" They replied "We thank you for contacting Thrustmaster Technical Support. The T598 servo base is expected to be available as a standalone product at the beginning of 2025. Unfortunately, we do not have information regarding the price of the standalone servo base at this time. We wish you a nice day and remain at your disposal for any further questions."
@adikeno6338 Not all buttons can be mapped, but that's a minor. Yes, both might need to be updated. Check on TM site. plus, the 488 rim does come with the new quick release as well.
Recently came back to GT after 25 year or so. Completed 1 and 2 back then with a full house of gold medals. GT1 is epic, GT2 got softer to give the newbs a chance. I digress... GT7 plays like shit on a PS4 with generic controllers so I'm looking for a wheel. I'm still not sure though my fellow racer. The TGT or the 598? It seems like the 598 is the power steering version versus the raw feel of the TGT. Which one is quieter? Subbed👍
Thank you. Welcome to The Resistance my guy 👊🏿. Believe it or not, the T598 is a bit louder as it has this like metal sounding vibration whenever you hit like rumble strips and that. Depends on what you're looking for. If you want to feel more grip of the car behind the wheel, get the TGT II plus it has a built-in vibrational Transducer kind of like a Buttkicker, which is a feature that exclusively only works on GT7
@ArmegedonNow fantastic reply. All points covered. I'll look for the TGT then. I have to ask though... ...did you ever play Carmageddon when it was a thing?
@fredkapp498 It was kinda for you to make the decision after my findings, but personally, yes the TGT II is defo worth the extra P. I hope that answered ya question gg
Great information, im running the Tgt2 love the immersion it sends out.will try out some dd bases soon, looking forward to personally comparing the feel.loving the lights display on wheels please tell me your wheel set up 😮😀👌🏽✊🏾
Yes my g, respect for the feedback. In the video, I was using the Ferrari 488 rim, and on the TGT II, I was running the TM open wheel with the BT Led light display
Wow I was told the lights only work on pc .wild .Also I'm new to this sim world, what degree of rotation do you set the tgt2 wheel base on.? Thanks 👏🏿🙌🏾✊🏾
I have TGT2 and am loving GT7 in VR. Thrustmaster is supposed to sell TGT2 Servo base alone soon. I might be tempted to try it then. Wouldn't it be nice if Thrustmaster sold base for $299? Probably will be $349. I have NLR 2.0 wheel stand and would be concerned about the mounting of the T598 and the tall height. But then it seems like the better wheel is dependent on personal preference, like you say in your video.
Yes, GT7 VR is out of this world, and with the right setup is mind-blowing. If u check out my unboxing video, you'll see that the T598 isn't as big as it initially looks, but if you already have the TGT II, you are still in good hands, in my opinion. But it does all depend on how strong you like/want your Wheelbase.
Questions I starting to playing race car on ps5 . I had a gt29 wheel controller , now trying to upgrade for under $500. Which wheel steering for ps5 that's you recommend 👌 🤔 😉 😀 👍 😄 👌 🤔 😉 thanks

No doubt, thanks for the feedback, I'd deffo try the t598 then and see if you like it. You might be pleasantly surprised.
its a shame that they have released the t598 with only 5nm, this wheel has so much potential
Yh I know proper disappointing, I think I'm jumping ship to Fanatec you know
Should have been 8 heard that's go sweet spot. TGT is like 6. Something also ar least $200 more

did you upgrade the settings? i mentioned what i did in a comment above, based on a reddit user. it made the wheel night and day good.
@delasse3178
Yup, all recommended settings done since day one and new recent base update. Wheel is solid. The pedals are the weak spot for me.

On PC, you can set damping to 0 (or 1 for me) to get rid of that 'rubber banding effect'
