    The filter cutoff cannot be modulated by oscillator 1. From the Monark manual: "the filter can be modulated by OSCILLATOR 3 or the noise source or a variable combination of both".

    How do you get that synth sound at 0:05 sec that rise?

    Modulating filter cutoff with a square wave. Since a square is either on or off, very harsh in other words, I wonder if it's actually doing anything before the very end of the sound. Especially if the rate is very low at the start, it could just be idling at the low voltage until the rate goes up. I don't know if the rate is following one of the other OSCs, I don't have Monark yet.
