The rooftop scene from MxPX's "Want Ad" video is the Interurban Building at 157 Yesler Way, Seattle, WA. The double deck freeway along the waterfront visible in the camera pan was the Alaskan Way Viaduct that was torn down a few years ago. The camera (which had to be higher up) would have been in the Smith Tower across the street at 506 Second Avenue. The Smith Tower has an observation deck. The next time you are in the PNW, you can go up there and replicate the cinematography.

Hey Adam, you should go towards the northeast next, I’ve never seen Vermont, New Hampshire or Maine on the channel, there’s a lot of beautiful countryside and I guarantee a TON of old towns that backroads could take you to, I think it would be intriguing to the viewer and interesting to you. You could do one of your “Americans backroads and forgotten towns” series videos

I was stationed aboard the USS Enterprise in 1978/79 while she was in the yards in Bremerton. I lived in the Tacoma area then. Bremerton has changed a lot since I was there. The area is amazing. I just watched this and found it quite interesting. However, what was interesting to me was that this song kept playing in my mind as you meandered thru Bremerton etc. It hasn't played in my mind for decades.you brought it back Adam😉
    "Papa was a rolling stone
Wherever he laid his hat was hishome
And when he died, all he left us was alone
Papa was a rolling stone (my son, yeah)
Wherever he laid his hat was his home
And when he died, all he left us was alone...."
It's the 2nd version by The Temptations (the one that went #1). It's psychedelic tune sticks with you... (more than the lyrics). Now, in my mind it's your theme song looking to the sunset somewhere... 😊(it'll probably disappear after awhile).

We were shocked to see you that you came to our hometown Bremerton. Only bad thing is you missed a lot of interesting things.
For example the Navy ship you saw the Turner Joy, was said to have been sunk at the Gulf of Tonkin in Vietnam, I was part of the reason for the start of the war in Vietnam. But as you personally saw that ship was not sunk. Isn't that interesting?
Anyway there's a lot of other interesting things in the area.

Mike, To. & Yuri all still live in Bremerton. Mike only lives there part time as he also has a house in Texas. His Texas house was the one he got as part of the show “fixer upper” with Chip and Joanna Gaines. Mike has a studio in Bremerton named “monkey trench studios. There was a period when the band went Tom and Yuri didn’t play many live shows as they got full time jobs in the ship yards, at that time Mike played some shows under the name “mxpx all stars.” But since they reunion show they hav even playing semi regularly live again. Mike is also the live bassist for Goldfinger now. The members had various side projects including the cooties, Arthur, and tumbledown. Knowing your music sensibilities I would suggest the cooties.

@@TheDailyWoo Local here - Played with them at the Charleston Theater (3:40) in Bremerton A LONG TIME Ago... like Myspace was a thing. They would play all around the county and would always be promoting their music locally - The Charleston, Roxy, and Admiral theaters in Bremerton were the go to spots. The Local demographic for Kitsap County is mostly military and retired - so MXPX coming out of bremerton is really odd...
I believe Mike went country a few years back and it scared a lot of good honest people who were all about the rock.
I actually went to Mikes house a few times while dating a girl who new him.
The Move to Bremerton song - the music video was filmed mostly on the Ferry and in Seattle... as was noted. Also the Ferry ride they filmed on - was on the boat leaving bremerton... only locals would realize it. There's only a few Kitsap locations shown in the music video. IF THEY HAD SHOWN BREMERTON IN 2000-2008 - the state of the town would have been much much much worse. Bremerton has been rebuilding really for the last 20-30 years... the down town area especially used to be a very dark and scary place back when MXPX was coming up.
15:00 - That photo is of the cargo loading dock in Seattle. It was actually taken from the Smith Tower which was the tallest building in Seattle and West of the Mississippi for a while. But not bremerton.
17:20 - The KMART scene was filmed in Bremerton - the kmart is now a storage facility (which I guess is different than Kmart). That was the exact location of the KMART store. Back then, that Mexican restaurant was a taco bell. That parking lot, while MXPX was coming up, would turn into a meeting spot for local high schoolers with un-mufflered cars every thursday night.
Also - The Central Kitsap School was torn down and relocated actually just up a small hill - the one shown in the video is no more.
21:00 - Yes - that house still exists and no Mike does not live there. IN FACT - 18:33 - the off ramp for Ridgetop ( north HWY 303) - That exit is less than 2,000 feet from the house. Mike lived in Silverdale... NOT BREMERTON...
The best part about that song - MXPX lived in Silverdale their whole lives to the best of my knowledge. Silverdale is the next town over to Bremerton. I guess it's harder to Rhyme "Silverdale".
      Great Vid Adam!

In high school he moved to Bremerton and we didn't hang out as much but his mom would send my mom a Christmas card every year and mentioned he was in a band. What a lot of people don't know is mxpx was a christan band, one of the only bands we were "allowed" to listen to.. We were at the christan music store and bought it based on the punk rock cover... oh the 90's

That picture you were trying to line up is of the downtown Seattle waterfront right by where the stadiums are now with West Seattle in the background.

You were almost downtown. Down by the ferry terminal is more of Downtown Bremerton. But hey Callow is close enough 😀 Hope you enjoyed our small town.

That building was indeed a Kmart. It was at the far right of the complex.
Central Kitsap High School is where my kids went. It was completely rebuilt a few years ago. The only remaining part of the old school is now the public library and some school district offices. It is down the hill from the current school.

Loved our time in Pacific NW in 2019. Vlogged it a bit but we were just starting out so no idea what we were doing! Gotta get back there again someday. ATW hits up all the good spots! Great vlogging as always my friend!

You should take the ferry across the puget at night. OMG. Seattle at night from the ferry is amazing. I did it in 2001ish. I still remember my trip to Wa state 20 yrs later.
