Dune Part 1, Dune Part 2 have exploded into the mainstream. After years of trying to get Dune off the ground it has finally happened. We could have had Dune earlier! Back in the 1970s Alejandro Jodorowsky embarks on a spiritual journey to make his Dune. A documentary was released detailing that journey. This is a review overview of that Documentary for - Jodorowsky's Dune.
The Documentary of Alejandro Jodorowsky's Dune is available to watch on HBO.
Note: During the making of this video i came across the movie Blood Machines. It uses some of the ship designs that were supposed to be in Jodorowsky's Dune.

I do like how the new movies incorporated some of Jodos design ideas.

3:36 finally someone who said it. My main problem with the new two movies are the colors and the minimalist aesthetic. The mini series needs more appreciation.
I turn the color saturation down when watching the mini series because it's gaudily over-saturated. Still my favorite version of Dune thoough.
This movie would have been Caligula levels of bad. Director didn’t even read the book nor care. The first scene was going to be two dog-men in space suits entering a cave to hear a robot talk about the history of humans. There’s a scene where 1k extras defecate on the floor at once. Look at some of the set pieces. A palace stairwell that goes into a sculpture of a gaping anus. The story doesn’t follow the novel AT ALL and Paul dies at the end and resurrects like a Jesus figure and inhabits the bodies of everyone in the throne room as they all say “I am Paul” like a ripoff of Spartacus.
Had this movie been made, it would have had a chilling effect across all sci-fi projects and we likely never get Star Wars.
GO MAKE YOUR OWN CRAP MOVIE WITH YOUR OWN IP. DONT PUSH FOR BASTARDIZATIONS OF EXISTING IP.
That goes across the board. Witcher, lord of the rings….dont butcher something to make it “new”. Just go make your own new thing.

@@kevinc8955 wow dude relax. I don't even like Jodorowsky's movies at all and I think that most of his plans are impossible to achieve in the first place.
Also we are talking about the mini series in this comment section.

if this was made, we wouldnt have had DVs dune. there is no coming back from hundreds of harkonnens taking a big shit on screen.
