Funny story: A few years ago when Mötley Crüe got back together after the success of the movie, some of my friends were planning on seeing them live on their big tour with Def Leppard. They asked me if I wanted to go, and I said “No”, not because I hate Mötley Crüe (I don’t, I like their first two albums and some songs here and there since), but because of how bad they are live, especially Vince Neil. At first, my friends were confused and thought I would be going, but when I showed them that clip of Mötley Crüe playing “Kickstart My Heart” in 2015 (?), where Vince sounded like Butter from South Park, they understood why. The fact that they’ve gotten worse live and think they can still tour like that confuses me. Again, I like Mötley Crüe, but to say they need to stop is an understatement. They should’ve just stayed retired back in 2015 and should’ve never reunited.
You know, after watching Todd in the Shadows’ Trainwreckords episode on Generation Swine, I’ve realized that he brought up a very good point: Motley Crue have stayed around this long and remained popular for this long not because of the quality of their music or live performances, but because of their image and the story of the band and their notoriety. They haven’t put out a good album for a LONG time now, and at this point I doubt they’re ever going to. No disrespect to John 5, he’s an amazing musician, but his talent is wasted in my opinion. Not to mention the whole Mick Mars lawsuit puts a bad taste in my mouth about the band.
@@themetalmeltdownofficial Do you think bands like Priest and Maiden should retire now as well? I mean they don’t sound nearly as bad as Motley but still they have been at it for 40 to 50 years. On a side note I agree Black Medium Current is the best album of 2023 so far.
Saw them as a kid in 86’/87’ with Whitesnake. I know that’s when they were doing a lot of drugs but I was like 14 I think. I had fun because I was with my friends but Tommy and Mick were the highlights by a long shot even then. Mars was the rock just holding it down. This whole madness may be a blessing in disguise for Mick as I think he was the heart and soul of the band. Motley Crue should have called it quits with “Saints of Los Angeles”.
I gave up on Crue after Theatre Of Pain. Nothing beats the early 1982 to mid 1985 'era. Especially Shout At The Devil. The look, heaviness of the music, attitude during Shout was so bad ass.
I had the chance to see them in 1986 or 87, but missed it. Would not bother now, especially not without Mick Mars. And I'm a huge Mötley Crue-fan, I love both of their albums.
As someone who like motly crue it’s just sad to see. You would have thought they’d learn ed last year to stop or get a new singer. They have to know. Honestly they should have just let the girls sing. Looked like they where putting more effort into the show, but theirs not even a bar to set when you sound like puma trying to sing kickstart my heart. SHOTS FIRED!
Look, I know that you're pretty much over with Motley Crue, and I get that they need to retire. They've left an undeniable and storied legacy that they will (unfortunately) never be able to live back up to again. However, I wasn't born during Motley Crue's glory days, so I never got to experience them in their prime. That's why I will be forever grateful that I got to see them live in Atlanta last year when I did. However, as much as it pains me to say it being a fan of the band, I do have to agree that they need to call it a career. Especially now that Mick Mars is out of the band (no disrespect to John 5). I love Motley Crue, but they need to call it a career after this world tour with Def Leppard, but who am I kidding? Like they said in the Saints of Los Angeles song, 'Doesn't matter what you think, we're gonna do it anyway'. Knowing Motley Crue, no matter what people say or think about them, they will never go away.
WASP is so underrated. I swear, their first album is like if Venom could play their instruments well, had good production and a singer capable of singing a melody. WASP has more in common with Venom, Slayer & Mercyful Fate than they do with any Glam Rock band. Electric Circus is a bit weak, but the debut, TLC & THC are all great albums
@@masterzombie161 totally. I think it sucks how so many people lump them into the 80's glam thing. I got to see Motley Crue in 09 when they did the 20th anniversary of Dr Feelgood. Was the performance great? No but it was better than whatever this "reunion" is. Vince Neil's voice reminds me of the episode of South Park where Towlie inhaled a ton of computer duster.

I saw Motley Crüe back in their prime. Motley Crue performed at old Montreal Forum in 1990 with Tesla as support.on the Dr Feelgood tour. I gotta admit it was fantastic. Motley since then have become a farce. Generation Swine wax a first indication that things in my opinion were going wrong. 1983 I was 15 and Shout at the Devil was our war cry! Everyone i hung out with loved that record then we discovered Too Fast For Love and loved that too. Theater of Pain was disappointing after Shout.then Girls was pretty good and a fun record. Motley kept it going at a decent level with Dr Feel good and about half the self titled record with Corabi on vocals was cool. When I bought Generation Swine I knew they were toast and I got ripped off. That was 1997 so they've had more than enough time to put out respectable music and haven't or can't. At this point I see them as possibly the most overrated group out there. Who would pay more than $20 to see these guys? They're so bad live they play a recording during the concert to keep everyone from walking out. They don't deserve to make the money they're making, as far as im concerned they've gotten more than they earned already. I saw them live three times in the 80's and they were decent but it's gotten ridiculous. We already know these guys have no shame so they'll go as long as we let them. Its embarrassing.
Motley crue for me have always been a product of there time and not alot else and by that i meen there music just hasnt aged well at all. Some music is timeless, motley crue have been very limited in that sense, to me atleast, not saying my opinion Is more valid than anyone elses but at the same time i cant see anyone, even big time fans getting much from what they have left at this point. Sometimes bands should just quit while there ahead because past that there just tainting the legacy that they have, that goes for alot of classic bands unfortunately.

Motley Crue has been all about the money for 30 years or more. The movie the Dirt was just stupid and lame, IDK their involvement. The only thing I've liked from Motley besides the first 2 albums was the Heroin Diaries by Nikki and the band that went with it had a couple ok songs. But, the book I can still enjoy and the first 2 albums aged out a long time ago. So, yeah no-one should give them a dollar or 5 minutes of their time. Like writing this was a waste of my time.

Another reason why I respect Dillinger and other bands for calling it a career and not becoming a parody of themselves.
You either die a Dillinger Escape Plan or you live long to see yourself become a Motley Crue
But even if TDEP came back for a brief reunion tour, I have no doubt they would wipe the floor with Motley Crue
