If I have a digital on off and timer setting at the pump can I just take the off clip off completely so it stays on the entire 24 hours at the box manual timer? This since I’m using the digital at pump instead
Yes that should work!
THANK YOU
Do you have to push the timer back in after you set it or do you just release it
Release it should fall back into place
Question when you set the time do you let it come on by itself or you turn it on
Once you set the time if you want the pool on turn it on manually it will shut itself off and then it will turn itself back on the next day
hurricane IAN took my Power and now you gave me the POWER
What if I run it only 2-3 hours a day in the winter time? What’s the cons when trying to save $
I usually recommend running the pool about four hours a day during the winter time
Is the 10 AM on the bottom by the arrow or up at the top
At the arrow
Is it possible to upgrade a timer like this to something more smart that you can control from your phone?
Yes, they do have pool timers that utilize Bluetooth. You may want to look into those. I’m not exactly sure what the manufacturer is but there’s gonna be different ones out there. You might want to check on.
Wha's the different b/w T101 and T101M?
M is for mechanical.
Hello Sir, it's a great video and explanation,, I set my pool pump time from 11am till 7pm, after setting it on this time, do i have to switch ON the pump or it will be running ON automatically as per the set time ? I'm having minimum of 460$ water bill every month because it was running nonstop 24hrs.
The on and off trippers will turn on and turn off the pump if it’s functioning correctly
Thanks a lot for the prompt reply, hope it will save me bill money
Do the trippers look any different or do they just SAY on off?
One is silver and one is gold
Can in add more trippers so that I can run the pool twice a day?
Yes, you can have it come on and go off multiple times throughout the day by using more trippers
I have ON & OFF trippers. I can't seem to find the AWN tripper though. AWN tripper must be a New Jersey/Philly/Delaware thing...LOL. J/K. Good info good video. Thanks!
Should the “manual lever” but turned to off in order to let the time switch trippers work on their own?
It doesn’t matter whenever it reaches the next trip or it’ll either turn on or off
@@ClearlySeen So when it hits the clip it just changes mode and it the actual clip doesnt matter? Meaning if its off and hits a clip it turns on and if its on and hits a clip it turn off? And the on and off clip are same mechanically (shape) aside for cosmetics.
The shape of the trippers is going to determine whether it flips the switch to the right, or to the left so on and off
@@ClearlySeen Got it that makes sense. Thanks, videos are great service
So to make it turn on 2times a day I have to have 4 trigger pins?
Yes you’ll need two on and two off trippers.
Clearly Seen thank you I wasn’t so sure thanks I still got a question
I am having issues with my timer. The timer is already set up from 10 pm to 6 am. It turn on and off during these times. But lately it been turning on and off in the middle of the night when it should be on untill 6.
I would make sure that the time is set correctly at the arrow and also I would make sure that it is keeping the correct time if not there’s going to be an issue with the timer motor on the back the dial.
My timer never moves, I can see and hear that the cogs are running behind it but the clock face never moves. Somehow the pump turns itself on and off the same time each day though. Any thoughts why?
Do you have a variable speed pump? If so, that would make sense because typically those have built-in programming
Just got a home with a pool last June and never maintenance or looked at anything since we have a pool guy. I took at look at my pool timer and there isn't any on/off trippers on it. Does this mean it's been running 24/7 the entire time?
Yes, normally if there’s no trippers, it will run around the clock unless it’s manually shut off
@@ClearlySeen okay thanks. Can’t believe our pool guy lied to us and said it’s on a time schedule.
The only way that your pool may be coming on and going off on its own if you have a variable speed pump, other than that, it relies on the timer with the trippers
@@ClearlySeen ah yea I just checked and it has a variable speed pump with a digital pad on it. Will need to do some research on it. Thanks again for the help.
Anytime!
When you set the timer to the current time, shouldn't it reflect the current time? My timer is set to a time of day and it never changes which makes me think there is a problem.
Yes sir there’s going to be an issue if the time does not change on the back of the timer dial is a motor that controls the clock and keeps the time accurate. You would need to call your local pool store to have them come replace it.
