    I love this video! I swear, all month I've been wearing Cool Water for women. It reminds me of the 90s 😍 My favorite era of all time ❤️❤️❤️Nice choices and thumbs up Al.

    Man, I remember my first fragrance that I ever smelt as a little kid was a bottle of Polo green that my dad wore, brought back memories when you mentioned it. I was wearing Cool Water and Tommy in High school in the 90's, 2 legends. Great Video.

    In the 90's I owned Fahrenheit, Drakkar Noir, Coolwater, Chrome & Joop. Joop was so strong that I never purchased it again. Fahrenheit was my favorite, but I got the most compliments from Chrome. Thank you for doing this video. It brings back good memories.👍

    This video took me back, AL. I think ARAMIS was my first fragrance, I rocked it so hard that I think I even had the Aramis hair gel...lol. LOVED, LOVED, LOVED Quorum. Wore that ALL through high school. KENZO, JOSEPH ABBOUD, and ETERNITY were in rotation as I went through college. MAD RESPECT for D&G POUR HOMME....still dream about that original formulation. Versace DREAMER and the Azzaros (PH & Chrome) as we got into the 90's. Thanks for the trip down memory lane. Great video.

    I just started my Ol Skool scent shelf. D&G pour homme, Fahrenheit, Tommy (amazing), Hugo man, curve. Nostalgic to my older brother and dad. Kenneth Cole reaction curve and Versace blue jeans need a room in that list. Even if it gets extended. Clear aviators and button down for that Miami Vice vibe.

  • @shave-a-thon3415
    @shave-a-thon3415 7 лет назад +10

    Back in the day for you is 1995 but for me it's 1975! We were just beginning to see there were men's colognes being developed other than English Leather and Brut. After graduating to Aramis, I discovered Paco, Grey Flannel, Polo. Drakkar, Azzaro Pour Homme and Paul Sebastian which is Old Spice on steroids.. I still think Chanel Pour Homme is class in a bottle when worn with a suit
    One of my favorites from the '90's was Halston Catalyst, although I don't think the current formulation by EA Fragrances is as complicated as the original. One can't argue with your top 2. Le Male is a classic (and when you don't want to waste it, reach for the Cuba Gold). What do you think of the current formulation of Fahrenheit?
    Grey Flannel comes on very strong but that dry down is terrific. I never really cared for Cool Water. I bought the original bottle when it first came out and couldn't wait to finish it. Personally I would make Azzaro Pour Homme #1. I still have a little left of an '80's formulation. While the current mix is strong, like most others released today, it's not close to the projection of the original.

    • @WildDoveX
      @WildDoveX 7 лет назад

      Aramis for sure. Also Z14, 4711, A*men, Lagerfeld Classic, Lauder for Men, Eau Sauvage, Bvlgari Black, Bvlgari eau te Vert (and the Extreme version).

    • @shave-a-thon3415
      @shave-a-thon3415 7 лет назад

      This video has me looking at bottles I long forgot I had. I bought Gucci Envy when it first came out in 1998 and wasn't that crazy about it. It's almost full and now I see that it's going for a boatload on Ebay. I'm also staring at an almost full bottle of Ralph Lauren's Safari edt and aftershave, a half bottle of Giorgio Beverly Hills, and a small amount Paul Sebastian's V.S.O.P which has long been discontinued. I also have a full bottle somewhere of Alexander Julian's Colours.
      If I knew then what I know now, I might have bought cases of some of the stuff that's been reformulated, including Old Spice by Shulton which has been changed into a sweeter fragrance called "Classic" Old Spice since it was sold to Proctor and Gamble and Mem's English Leather before the sale to Dana Classics.

      It depends on your idea of old school! Their old school is over 15 years past college for me! I can't believe I left out
      Photo! I loved that one. It's another one that projected like crazy which women loved on a date. I bought a bottle in the late nineities and it was alot weaker than the original I had which came with a gym bag when bought in Macys.

    Cedric! Always looking fresh and great opinions!
    I own #6 and I like it....it gets compliments.
    But...I prefer the original version of #6. Love it! I still wear both versions to work.
    I still own #10 but I sometimes use it as a room spray or my "around the house" scent.
    #4 was one of my old favs. It was my old fav a few years ago. I think I went through 4 bottles.
    Who didn't own #3. That was the top scent for the middle schoolers. I stopped wearing it as soon as I discovered #4 on your list heh.
    Haha honorable mention of Polo Green? I still wear that and I love it. That actually has the best after shave I ever done used. It lasts and it gets compliments haha. Very manly...in fact that's what I've been told: "you smell like a man *hugs*".
    My top ten would include the 5 from your list that I mentioned. I'd probably add Boucheron Pour Houmme and Jaipur. I didn't appreciate those two when I was younger but now I love them.
    Obsession is another I'd add to any top ten list. Michael Jordan had a very catchy fragrance. It'd be an honorable mention on popularity (I honestly don't remember what it smells like).
    My absolute favorite was Curve. If I had to make a top ten, Curve and Eternity are my #1 and #2. Eternity probably smells better but I loooooved Curve haha.

    I still wear DG pour homme till this day as well as fahrenheit. . love it.. Wish they kept the original formula.. Tommy was another awesome one.. It was a fresh apple pie smell.. super compliment getter.. Great list. Honestly bro.. Many of these fragrances are better than all the shit today. Many of these don't have a place in my heart.. I still prefer them now in 2016.. And if these weren't reformed they would kick the shit out of 90 percent of everything today.

    I agree with your top 10 and there are a lot of honorable mentions... (CK Obsession for men) was one I remember being BIG back in the day. And ( Colors Cologne By BENETTON for men) one of my favorite that is now discontinued. I also remember some of the cheep discount colognes that were pretty popular. I was in high school in the early 90's and remember smelling a lot of (Preferred Stock) and (Aspen), if you couldn't afford (Cool Water) LOL. (Gravity) was a good cheepy. And I do agree that a lot of these frags were a hell of a lot stronger back in the day and smelling better... or, then again, my nose could be getting old

      @shave-a-thon3415 7 лет назад

      I had mentioned Azzaro Pour Homme in an earlier, lengthy comment. The early bottle of Kouros I had was power-ful! A couple of sprays announced my presence a few seconds before I walked in the door and the thing lasted an entire workday. Most everything I bought back then were projection monsters and I took it for granted that fragrances would always be like that. I guess the FDA regulations and sale of some of them changed the picture.

    You HAVE to mention Drakkar! It's classic! I actually just bought a bottle at the department store near me. It's fresh and clean. I bought it out of nostalgia. Had it growing up. My first fragrance. Love it. Has the guest really even smelled any of these? It seems as though he just agrees with you in every vid and just generalizes all frags in describing them. Hard to tell if he really has experience with them truthfully or not. Also I thought I would see Polo sport or original polo on the list too.

  • @brade2888

    Dude, I still rock Drakkar on occasion. I've wearing it since I was 13 years old. I'm in my late 20s and that shit turns heads from lady's 20-50. I kid you not. And if I tell them it's Drakkar, the older ladies go nuts that it still be being worn and the younger ladies have no idea what that is hahaha. Respect.

    I totally loved this video. I've owned multiple bottles of almost all of your mentions, Tommy and Le Male being the exceptions. It's fair to say that Drakkar can also be worn today. My list would have included the juice that made me a frag freak, Xeryus Rouge. A masterpiece I do not allow myself to go empty on. I love the fact that you paid respect to Joop. Some frag snobs tend to disrespect it, knowing they've worn it for the girls. My list would have also included Preferred Stock, that has a special place in my heart and before, had a place in my pocket. Aqua Quorum by Puig, Polo Sports cheap twin, I rocked endlessly. What about a video paying respect to old school discontinued frags?

    Almost all 90's... 70's and 80's were the best old school frags.

    I'm still wearing Aqcua di Gio, D&G Homme, Joop, Le Male, and Fahrenheit today. I had Tommy back in the day back in the day but it was too light of a scent. I'd spray a ton, & it be a skin scent within an hour. The D&G reformulation is just not up to par. I recently bought a bottle of some older juice. Surprised you did not include Grey Flannel, but it did get an honorable. No mention of Obsession.

      Somehow I left out Obsession in my comment! Absolutely tremendous in its day whether going out with friends or especially on a date. No gal forgot you when you wore CK's Obsession. That thing projected for the entire night! Your overcoat, sports jacket, shirt, chesthair, pillowcase...everything smelled from Obsession into the next day!
      I first bought it in 1986 at a dept. store. It came in a gift set with a Calvin Klein watch and an additional 1 oz. bottle (which I still have).

    I think Issey Miyake should definitely be in any list of top 10 or top 5 lists of 80's 90's or 00's
