I am so sick of corrupt politicians. Many in their circle know who they are…and what they do…but remain silent…thus the “good old boy” protection continues. There should be term limits on every official elected position within our government…to help prevent this “puffy chest, I can do anything I want attitude.” I pray this man gets the support he needs to overcome this atrocity. Thank you for reporting this story.

So why was the deputy in his living room when there was no eviction notice? I tend to agree with that lawyer that it sounds like some sort of horrible insider deal going on here. Some poor renter getting caught in the crosshairs.

Most people don’t have the money and time to go after the people that do this nation wide to old and poor people in the quiet parts of the country.

Why are we letting these people divide us over irrelevant issues while they rob us blind? We're so desperate to own each other we've given away our relationships, country and future.

You know that this is in America right? Where private ownership of property is not only legal, but is the basis for our economy. Someone should have educated this guy on the difference between renting and owning. He doesn't seem to get it. He doesn't own the property. He's got a legitimate complaint if they didn't give him the normal 30 day eviction notice, but the new owner still has the right to kick him out.

@@kevind1650 It's not the new owner. It was seized illegally. So your whole argument goes down the toilet. Start from square one.

You're right Jody, we did escape England over crap like this.
So sad that people who are in a position of power can and will do things like this.
    God bless you sir.

Actually no, we didn’t escape England for stuff like this. It’s because we did not have the ability to vote in England’s parliament. “No taxation without representation“. But in the United States we have plenty representation, we just vote for the wrong people. People who put money in politics. Democrats have a lot of problems, but they actually would get money out of politics if they ran the federal government. Remember it was Republican appointed judges who opened up money in politics a huge amount. And Republicans in Congress refused to fix it. Many Democrats don’t wanna fix it either, but Democrats can be forced to fix it because that’s what the base wants. But Trump and the Republicans do not want money out of politics. They love the money in politics. Don’t fall for the whole “drain the swamp“ campaign phrases.

People like to think small towns like Bastrop are more community driven and less corrupt, but they are the most corrupt

The way they handled this story was so suspicious. They quietly slide in that he rents the place. They never name the owner and at one point made a reference to his "landlord" owing money. Why did they never mention the owner or talk to them? This guy was just illegally evicted from a place he rents. The owner is the one that was the biggest victim, having his home sold for $20k.

Excellent, excellent reporting. Thank you for bringing attention to this corruption.
They must be held accountable for their fraud.
