Wonderful editing of this video. Thank you for taking the time and effort to produce this.
Another amazing, clear and concise informative video. Great job Rachael! 😄😄😄
Thank you, Arne!
Always liked watching videos like this so I can be well informed about hearing aid updates
Dr. Rachael, Please add a Number to each title in the Everything You Need To Know Series so they can easily be watched in order when they expand into a vast collection! Thank You!!!
I bet we can do that! We will also add them to a playlist so you can watch each in order. Thanks for watching!
Another outstanding video !
On my way to my fitting… feeling nervous so I’m thankful to walk in a bit informed
Thanks! Taking some of the mystery out of getting use to my new ears.
Sorry to see that Costco is not on the list and that the closest BP is too far away.
Actually that's correct it takes exactly 30 days for your brain to adapt took mine just as long if you can believe it
Is it possible to talk about OTO-413 soon?
Great video! Do any of your patients/customers fine it a little uncomfortable wearing behind the ear hearing aids such as Signia Styletto with glasses? I did during my 45 day trial.
Many patients are able to wear both, but if your frames are thick, you may find that they fight for space. You may be a better candidate for in the ear hearing aids, so be sure to express any concerns to your provider!
What about hearing protection whilst wearing behind the ear hearing aids?
I have these big bulky ear cups but they always hurt my ears after barely 30min of wearing
And I work in the trades so with grinding, welding, trucks etc.
And I am heavily hearing impaired (~70db loss on one side and around ~80db loss on the other side)
I have a problem …hope you Can unswer….when I wear my new hearing aids my tinnitus goes up in sound terrible!! Why do you think this happens??
Why do REMs need to be done?
So you're saying that you order what you think is right for our hearing aid prescription? So you're saying you don't give the patient a couple 2 or 3 options to choose from, you just fit us with you think is best for our hearing prescription?
Going through my trial period with Signia Silk x2 hearing aids. My left ear is repeatedly giving me feedback issues. So far we've adjusted the volume and eq and swapped out for a closed dome. Still having issues. I wonder if ear wax could be a driver for this?
Was the feedback test ran?
Real ear measurements should actually be done after hitting prescription targets.
Does the VA contract with you guys? I'm in the prescott area. My fitting seemed really rushed. It took about 30 minutes at most and definitely no real ear measurement. My experience actually makes me not want to go back. Nice people, but feel it like it was less than what I needed.
We are not contracted with the VA but we have many patients who obtain their technology through the VA and see us for fitting and follow-up care of their devices. Give us a call for a consultation appointment!
While my hearing aids were in my ears and connected via Bluetooth to a laptop, my audiologist ran a program that sent various sounds to my hearing aids. He told me that was real ear measurement. Is that true, or was that something else?
Mine did same thing said it was real ear measurement and anti feedback test
@@robertwingham Think probably activating feedback cancelation.. REM is only done with a certain machine in person I think
@@robertwingham Thanks!
This sounds like something called in-situ audiometry which is similar to a hearing screener ran through your hearing aids. This is not real-ear measurement, so be sure to ask for that at an in-person appointment. It makes all the difference!
@@kaylasmusic it was in person.
Has Dr Cliff transitioned?
Indeed 😁 probably not though I can see why you'd ask that
I am Dr. Cook, Dr. Cliff is still himself, ha!
