My 1st time there on my jamis 26" with 100mm front and 80mm rear. No dropper. Fun but scary. Just held on for the run. Definitely need a shuttle as I tried to ride back up. Bad idea.
Loving the old school throwback! We used to go so far on such little. Definitely not one to lap without shuttles but I'm sure some XC maniacs would love thew challenge.
Nice ride bro. I'm not an expert on suspension setting but I can tell that your fork rebound settings maybe is way too fast. It seems like your bike wants to throw you out after every time you hit a drop. Can compare big difference from your mate's fork setting the time he wears the gopro chesty. Just my observation :-)
Cheers AngelS! You are totally right about the suspension, it has since been updated with the correct rebound and PSI. I'm itching to get back out to Clearies soon so we will see how it handles the drops then.
Bicycle Curious yeah we are just about to drive out driveway for the sunny coast . No riding ( broken arm ) just to get kids out of house . Big drive but it’s ok with stops . I subbed you just in case you mention you will be up in a vid 😁. Our group isn’t real flash but we laugh heaps . Take care mate 🤘. Mick
@@mickfromrocky Enjoy the drive down and back, even if it can be a slog it's still nice to get out on the highways every now and then. I'll keep you and the crew in mind if I head up that way!
So thoughts on the 130. I’m torn between a focus vam or jam SL at the moment and my heart wants the 130 but head is telling me I’ll be out of my depth on anything rowdy
@@chrishurley5711 I love shirt travel bikes but have recently blown my 140mm forks and put on 160mm …. Wow it’s so nice . Very different though. Good on plough rocks etc but not as playful
There is a secret section of the left you guys must not have seen. It replaces the top switchbacks with fast glory berms. It's a shame because we built about 200m of track and no one rides it
@@JEMTB90 Me and my mate cleared the over grown area last weekend, rest of the track is clear when we were there was a neat section apart from the first gnarly rock drop/garden haha
1:18 uff that was almost a destroyed derailleur. Good for him that wasn't the case, he could've waved or shout something tho 😅

Hell yeah that was very cool. You ever come up to Rocky ? If you do give us a shout . Mick
Would love to make it up to Rocky sooner or later, just need to commit to the 8+ hour drive first. :P

My first time there I went with a hard tale 100mm suspension and went off those big drops because I didn’t see it
Lived to tell the tale! Would be rough going smashing down Clearies on a hardtail let alone a 100mm one.
@@BicycleCurious very rough
What type of bike is that
Running the 2018 Trek Fuel EX 8!

I had no idea, if I did I would have been hitting it! I will have to keep my eyes peeled for next time. Thanks for making me aware. :)

And someone has cleared around the track also
