For real, the last good campaign in my opinion was Black Ops 2. Ghosts and Advanced Warfare's campaign were decent, but they don't come close to Campaign masterpieces like BO1, World at War, Modern Warfare 2, etc.

It may have older maps in it, but you can’t just take the files from a WAW map and put it into the game at that’s it. They have to completely reskin everything and give it new textures. This gamemode is reviving my love and excitement for CoD that the past couple games haven't been able to do. Blackout to me is a great mesh between the fast paced casual gameplay of Fortnite and the hardcore slow tactical style of Pubg. I have been wanting a BR gametype in CoD for years, ever since the Hunger Games movies came out and people were making maps and mods for Minecraft. I remember trying to come up with a custom gametype in Ghost that replicated the feel of a Survival Games mode. I'm very excited and happy for this mode.
Only thing that sucks about blackout is there's ALOT of pathetic campers can't tell you how many times I died in the beta to a dude just sitting in a random house not moving or dead silence just waiting in a corner for you to walk in and wreck u... It's stupid... But what else can we expect from camp of booty

Haven't bought a COD since Advanced Warfare and I've bought every Battlefield on release since Bad Company 2. This year looks like it'll be the other way about purely for the Blackout game mode and the direction Battlefield has been going in since BF4. Blackout looks really really interesting whereas in the recent battlefield beta I was bored after 2 hours. I'll still wait to see blackout gameplay, I could end up getting neither. Blackout looks great but it's a huge missed opportunity in terms of a single player campaign. Imagine a BR style campaign? You wake up in a strange world with 3 other people, nobody remembers who they are but end up having to work together to survive in a Battle Royale. Sounds cliche but I think that would be amazing. Also, Blackout has made me think of another game mode COD could have. They have an 80 player limit so why not go for a 40v40 game mode? A mode with tanks, helicopters, jeeps etc etc. That would be really interesting to see how COD could handle that

I played beta and it’s actually pretty good and fun. Its more realistic unlike fortnite with all that building. Graphics are really nice too.

This game is going to sell a shitload just because of Blackout, you think these 15 year old kids are gonna resist another battle royale game especially when it’s coming from a COD title? lmao this shit is gonna break records, hopefully it gives them the drive to revolutionize this game against activisions standards. I myself, am excited to try the game mode out today. Hopefully it’s as engaging as it looks. Looks like it’ll be super tactical with a squad, the first COD game where they’ll probably listen to the community.
I'm going to assume someone at Activision saw the immense popularity of the battle royale genre and immediately put out the order for every Call of Duty for... I want to say the next two - three years, or I don't know, whenever the next trend comes along... to have a battle royale mode.
Is it what the franchise needs to pull back in all the players they lose every year? Some, sure, but not a lot.
Is it in anyway innovative? Sweet fuckery no. Like, fuck, what kind of a stupid question is that? I'm pretty sure Activision outlawed innovation back in '09.
Are people content enough to support a franchise with an ever growing online focus, that in spite of that still has yearly, full-priced releases with minor additions or overall changes? That still asks for more with season passes and downloadable content which are redundant as people eventually move to the next entry in 12 months or less? That has the nerve to re-release that same content under the banner or nostalgia and loyalty to ongoing fans and then charge for it (looking at you zombies)? That thinks throwing in battle royale makes everything l new? Well, that's a bunch of questions, but yeah, they are...

I’m just let down because I always play the campaign 3-4 times I enjoy them. This really sucks that we don’t have a single player. Hopefully this is the only game they do without a single player.

I think the Black Ops 2 FOB Spectre Missions were sick ... I would like for them to bring something similar to that back in the future.

how are people really upset about campaign? call of duty campaign never blew me away, compared to games like the last of us and uncharted it’s laughable. I’m glad they decided to ditch it to try something new
I wish that treyarch was the only COd devs, one cod every 3 years, 2 new IPs that are developed by IW and sledgehammer games. That would be awesome 3 good IPs once every 3 years! but no cod will sell every year
He's right about the timing of blackout, I think older people don't want to play fortnite and pubg has been having a rocky time and hasn't changed much so it's perfect to get players into call of duty and to create a competitive battle royale.

Haven't bought a COD since Advanced Warfare and I've bought every Battlefield on release since Bad Company 2. This year looks like it'll be the other way about purely for the Blackout game mode and the direction Battlefield has been going in since BF4. Blackout looks really really interesting whereas in the recent battlefield beta I was bored after 2 hours. I'll still wait to see blackout gameplay, I could end up getting neither.
Blackout looks great but it's a huge missed opportunity in terms of a single player campaign. Imagine a BR style campaign? You wake up in a strange world with 3 other people, nobody remembers who they are but end up having to work together to survive in a Battle Royale. Sounds cliche but I think that would be amazing.
Also, Blackout has made me think of another game mode COD could have. They have an 80 player limit so why not go for a 40v40 game mode? A mode with tanks, helicopters, jeeps etc etc. That would be really interesting to see how COD could handle that
