Tennant is by far my favourite though I did love Smith

@Jay •• My guy you need to do some research about stuff before commenting. I’m not sure about Chris but Matt Smith definitely said he’s been a fan of doctor who since he was a kid.
Plus she wasn’t told to not watch it. She watched an episode to research the character (which is what most actors in any major role do) and she said she didn’t like the show (which is probably the worst thing she could’ve said) and couldn’t bring herself to watch any more.

This video reminds me how good Series 1-10 were. The relationships between the characters were all really well written and I loved the banter between the Doctor and his companions. Series 11 tried to be funny but I feel it didn't work very well.
How about Series 12?

@@thepandorica1660 At least for me, Series 12 was fantastic. It tied up a lot of loose ends that go back to Tom Baker and gave us new plotlines to play with. (Also, it's fun watching these kids who have only seen Eccelston onward freak out about "breaking canon", because as we all know, the 900 controversy and the Time War didn't break canon in any way. *Rolls eyes*)

I'm old enough to remember when the Doctor allegedly being half-human ruined everything forever. I"m old enough to remember when Ace's very existence ruined everything forever. None of this is new. Doctor Who has its twists. Some good, some bad. If the Timeless Child proves unpopular, they will just retcon it later. Just like the last few times.

Love it cannot stop listening I’ve had an upgrade best line ever
It caused an uproar among some so called fans, clearly offended by it. I mean every regeneration thinks of themselves highly and looking down on their predecessors, refering to themselves as an upgrade. But only when it comes from Jodie and after " I read the files, the Doctor is a man", it's suddenly a bad thing. Seriously? Firstly it's the freaking head of MI6, who's misionformed, so it's not the Doctor's fault, is it? Secondly even his assistant had more fresh news on the topic and really tried to tell his boss, but no, the head of freking MI6 knows best. Yea, but because it comes from a "whaman" it's a feminist agenda and whatnot. Like people should think for themselves and not judge by one scene, that they just misunderstood the meaning of. It was never meant as a shocking reveal, a feminist thing. It's just a remark, that every regeneration - male or female - would do anytime.
I'm sorry for this little rant of mine, but I just don't like, when people misunderstand something and others jump on the bandwagon, because it fits their idea. "Don't like the show, because da Docta was always a man, hurr durr. Now a whaman said she got an upgrade! Oh gosh, feminist powa!" Like come on.
Honestly I was expecting the scene where David says “I know exactly what I’m doing” and then the TARDIS explodes to be right at the very end.
Still, I really enjoyed this!

Of late we've had actual telling off speeches and being smacked around the head with obvious agendas... no subtlety
I thought it was funny. The Doctor always considers his current incarnation as the better one
fomoran agreed. Take the Slitheen for example. As kids: you see them as silly farting aliens. As an adult: you see them as politicians talking out of their arses with the simple goal of greed and profit. Subtle still though.
Louise Hadri I suppose but the context of the scene is on about gender. It’s like when The General regenerated and said “good, back to normal. Seriously how do you cope with all that ego”. So stupid. Women aren’t the norm, everyone is the fucking norm. And what ego? Male suicide rate is much higher than women because these days we think so little of ourselves. I just wish Doctor who was less “PC” in the sense that hating on men and discarding them is justifiable but that’s only my view on it
@@MrGreaves I see your point. I never saw this as "hating on men" but now that you talked about it I have to agree it can be very insulting.
I think the purpose of that General joke was to show being a woman was the norm for that particular character, and definitly make canon the fact that change in gender exists among Time Lords and not all powerful Time Lords are male. This had to be done, since having a very developped civilisation only controlled by men without ever mentionning sexism is weird today, even if it was normal in the 60s- 70s. (I mean, those changes in Doctor Who have a purpose- they allow the show to evolve with our society and adapt)
I think those "jokes" are still acceptable as long as they're proven wrong. For instance, I don't remember any male character being offended by what the General said. She's the one being mean and insulting and having too much ego, and we understand quickly that she's talking about herself more than men as a whole.
At least that's how I understand it, but I'm not a man. Maybe I would have been offended if I were one
Edit : In that same video there's a joke about women being evil: the monk asks who's on the phone, the Doctor answers "a woman" and he crosses himself. I found it funny because obviously women aren't evil. The Doctor is using a telephone that comes from a space and time ship, but what terrifies the monk is the woman that he can't even hear talking. And he is right to be afraid, because Clara is being so annoying on the phone.
