I admire your precise descriptions and explanations -- even more so, since English is not your first language. Also your very thoughtful procedures at each step. Excellent! Question: You use some sort of modern glue where shellac was used in the old days. Shellac has the advantage of dissolving easily in alcohol. Is there a reason to prefer modern glues to shellac, other than easy availability?

      Thank you!
I'm doing my best but looking back to some of my earlier videos I see mistakes in concept and understanding of the principles. So these videos are also my story and evolution in this hobby and should be taken as such.
When I first started one year ago, while researching tools and materials, Pliobond was mentioned pretty much everywhere. Since I couldn't easily get it I went for something similar. But I did consider shellac for certain applications such as locking adjustment screws or the rangefinder vertical adjustment wedge but haven't got to it yet.
And if you're reffering to the B7000 I still use for curtains, it's surprisingly easy to completely remove if needed even without chemicals (just by rubbing it with your finger).

As i said before that super x black glue is also a contact adhesive but is great to use for this application. I got mine from aki-asahi. He sells the ribbons at 2 m lengths. What company did you buy yours ftom as it seems you got a lot. I did my curtains the wrong way arpund but then realized its the nicca type 5 with the back door openimg to load the film but ill remember your tip for any others i do. Is there a rule of thumb for the curtains traveling in milliseconds. At 500th sec i got the first curtain at 12.4 m/s and the second one at 18.5m/s. I altered the tension to bring it more in line with the 12.4. not sure if im doing that right? The nicca 33 im sure from an article i found has a worn metal part thats not a rectangular that engages with the pawl on the main shaft. This article the guy filed it square again but im not going to mess with that because if its worn that means the part would be smaller and that could throw out the speeds as well.

I got the curtains and ribbons from nobbysparrow on ebay. I did ask him about that adhesive as well but he didn't have any to sell.
I have no idea what's the correct curtain travel time on these shutters. I don't even know if this information exists. 12ms seems quite fast to me. I think my Niccas run at around 20ms for a 30mm measurement, but when I did the measuring, the lasers weren't masked so they used a roughly 2mm wide beam so the results are probably quite off.
