Just finished watching. The glue i got with the curtain and ribbons from aki-asahi is really good in that its almost black. I used a lollypop wooden stick with 3 clothes pegs to press the overlap down. The thread for your stitching do a quilters knot which is easy and dont cut the thread ends off. When i checked on my old nicca ribbons the excess thread had been glued inbetween the ribbon overlap thereby preventing anything from coming undone. That way you can ditch the superglue and that will harden and become brittle. Apparently they used shellac glue back in the day which is why now they are all brittle. I stiched the ribbons with red thread like on a leica because i found it easier to see what im doing! Gave up on the nicca 33 till i fully rebuild the nicca 5 as everything works except 8 and 15th. 8 is like 1sec so at least i have a 1 second now on that camera! Strange they made it without 1 sec as the slow speed unit is the same as the nicca 5. Cant believe they saved that much money by not putting one on at the factory. Wish i could go back in time and watch them being made!

Good idea with the stitching ends being hidden inside the fold.
I still haven't been able to stich the ribbons properly. The material itself is not really friendly with the needle.

@@AlinCiortea I used very fine thread and needle. Looking at the Leica red threads it's done in a square formation.
