It's the shopping list for the supermarket. Whichever family member is doing the shopping, anyone at home can add to it while the person doing the shopping can read any additions straight away. Just tick off each item on the list as you're wandering around the aisles!
I like how I can forward an article/recipe to Keep. When you open that note, it takes you directly to the original article.
Been using Keep for years, absolutely love it
The best thing about google keep is simply the ease of access from a web browser. There are a ton of great and far better note taking apps but they are simply apps, no web versions are available and if they are, they would be too complicated or cluttered. Props to google for keeping keep simple and easy to use and sync
Bundled notes is another option with online access but you have to pay for that feature.
@@DavidBaudin thanks for suggestion ! I didn’t know about this app. From what I see they only have an android app, no iOS one (at least for now)
This tutorial is worth it's weight in gold. Clear, concise, and very informative. Proper English, not verbal shit from across. And the background music is exactly that. Thank you and keep it up.😊
My favorite feature of Keep (and Gmail) is Labels. I have my notes organized by: Home, Work, Tech, etc. meaning it's easy to find what I am looking for.
How do you do that?
@@Guy-vv2vm on the bottom right of the screen press the three dots and labels will be one of the options
Password/pin protection MOST NEEDED.
Currently using Samsung note also for the protection.
I mostly use Samsung Notes, but I do use Google Keep to see what classes I have that day. My organisation has a Week A and Week B format so I have created 2 labels in Google Keep for Week A and B with 5 notes in each category for each day and then I have them on both my phone's homescreen and my Tablet's homescreen for easy access. I can also see them on my organisation's laptops that they provide since it is synced with my account. I also like to set the colour to green as well.
You can also extract text from any image uploaded and it work pretty seamlessly.
I actually only use the app for our shopping list so that everyone in the household can access it. I find Apple Notes much clearer and would like to have folders with keep.
Additional tips: Google keep can parse texts from most of the images that you add into it.
Setting task or note notification based on location is really handy.
I like that I can open my Keep checklists on my Galaxy Watch 4 Classic and tick off my shopping list without having to have my phone out. Overall Keep is simple, but very useful and underrated.
As awesome as it is it still lacks some basic features like formatting text and searching in notes themselves.
Search in the notes is a must need thing they should add it
Is it somehow possible to format text written in Google Keep? Its pretty hard to tell what's important without the ability to write bold letters
I'm a writer and musician. The sheer amount of notes I have in Keep is wild. Keep has been The app for me for 6 years at least. I wish there was better history support for each note though.
Lol same
If we both lose our stories at least we'll share the same anguish and that's comforting
@@gloriaglore-ms7gk I hope we both never have to lose our information. You can't always keep a diary but you can have a phone. The value of record keeping of ourselves is engraved into all of us through education. It would be an unfortunate day if it happened and I think we both would need a hug for the huge loss.
Have an email for your notes about stories and an email for your music stuff. It doesn't make sense to mix both when you know you're going to create a lot of content for both... I hope it helps. Also make use of as many tags as possible, it'll make searching easier!
@@mariannacorreia3496 I hear you. But... I can categorize just fine... I was talking about history, file backup, recovery. I'm sure you could see value in this. If not. Cool.
Regardless this post is old. And they already announced it's coming soon. Yes I did message em from my side. But I'm sure a lot of peeps did. It just makes sense.
What about being able to get the notes into Sheet (Spreadsheet) column A is the note column B is the label that kind of thing, for subsequent usage/sorting etc? Thanks
Does Keep support regular Google search syntax like AND/OR and quotation marks?
Brilliant application! I use it often.
I use this for reminders and I like that it syncs with my Google watch. I use the checklist on my watch for shopping
Once you've labeled your notes in the categories like my notes my dad's notes my mom's notes is there any way that all those notes can be put into one neat folder?
I needed this.
I want to make notes as I progress through projects. I need each entry to have a date and time stamp. Is there any way of doing this?
My fav thing about keep is syncing to google account instantly so my notes don't get lost and, i use it to copy and paste text to my laptop instantly. The web version is just as functional as the app.
Best thing about google keep for me is the integrated text from image recognition. While you can extract text and make a true text based note from an image, its not needed to perform a keyword search. Keep will bring up image only notes based on text in the image. Would be slightly better if you could basic edit the taken image to crop and rotate, etc.
Great tips, thank you
Is it possibile to make reminders only on workdays?
Can i open google keeps on other apps like taking notes from there
Is it possible to create folders within a folder?
Love Google Keep. At this point, it feels like I couldn't live without it. Though there's still a few things I wouldn't mind them adding! Customizable ordering for labels without having to do it numeraically, i.e 1,2,3 for example. I also wish you could customize the ordering of pinned notes without having to unpin every note in a label. You should also be able to fully customize the background feature of a picture of your choosing. Lastly, a desktop app would be amazing, though I'm aware it's probably a hard thing to do. I use it on my browser, but not the biggest fan of it's aesthetic on the browser in comarpsion to the mobile version.
You can drag pinned notes to rearrange them
Yeah, you can drag pinned notes to reorganize them!
What if there was a 'get notified' option on a 'shared note'?? Wouldn't that be great? Imagine that would make all other note taking apps with this feature redundant? Right.
How can I highlight in Google? Keeps i.e names, words numbers etc
I have tried other note taking apps but always go back to "KEEP" One item I wish they,Google, would set up for the keep app would be to be able to lock the notes ... Unless there is and I'm missing it 🤔
One thing I wish GK could do is allow highlighting, text size, underlining, bold, etc. I have an extensive collection of notes in *Evernote* and I can create a very readable document that way.
Evernote is trying to push its free users out, though; does anyone know of a good alternative?
What i dont get is why its not just called notes. Im honestly so irrationally annoyed that it stops me from using it.
I use Keep in my business for notes. After I'm finished, I use the Copy to Google Docs feature and move it to the appropriate file in Google Drive.
Hi, can you edit a label category? thanks!
I wish there was an import feature to import notes written on other apps. That way notes done on other apps like Samsung notes or xiaomi note app would not be lost.
Been waiting for this video!!!
Amazingly helpful. Thanks!
Google Keep is one of the Best Notes app available in Market 💯
Is there a way to pin a note to my android screen? find any option for that
great job!
I wish you could search inside a specific note for a specific word! There maybe a way to do it, I just haven't figured it out yet.
I think you can do that. If you just start typing the word you want to search in the search bar, it will pull up any note that has that words in any part of the note.
@@weeksie500 I have multiple different note folders I guess you would call them. If I search a word it will show which folder it's in, but it won't go to the actual part of the file that has the word I searched. For example, I have a to-do list folder, a long term projects folder, a grocery list folder, cologne notes breakdown folder...etc. So if I search the word "plum" it may show it's in the grocery list folder and the cologne notes folder. If I select the cologne notes folder, I still have to scroll through the folder to find the actual word "plum". If all that makes sense LOL....and I may be doing it wrong
Can you change font size yet?
Another feature is the ability to add items to a Keep list using any Google Assistant device. We use it in the kitchen to add items to the grocery list without lifting a finger!
mine is lagging what to do
Label's are what's keeping me to use keep not much those link 🔗 are pretty good though I should try that out from now on
It's a nice little app that works really well with other Google software.
Good review!
Good app been using it for years.
My favorite feature is basically just the Sync.
I can easily just see or even edit my notes and reminders on my PC and phone.
It's not really a Keep Notes exclusive but the fact that I already use Chrome and signing in with my Google account just means I don't need to use another notes app.
to be honest google keep is way better than apple's own notes app as the syncing is way faster than icloud and surprisingly google keep has their own app for the apple watch and you can even see your pinned notes on your apple watch. personally, I have pinned my To Do List in my google keep to get quick access on the watch, heck you don't even get an apple notes app for the apple watch. this is the only app I use which makes a lot of sense and does what it says. syncing is amazing in real time. better than icloud and apple notes. i have apple devices, i don't own an android phone or a windows laptop but this is by far the best to do list maker and reminders app out there. apple should learn from this google's app includinig google maps lol. thanks for the video, great review. loved it :)
If u have a word mentioned inside a note multiple times, Google Keep doesn't offer the functionality where u can see how many times the word is mentioned inside any particular note. Third party apps can easily do this.
A note to pick up coffee at 1:08, who does that !!😂
but how to backup notes?
They need to add a bold italics underline option. Like it is so basic why doesn't it have it?
I wish it also had a SwiftUI macOS app too.
Very good Video!!
Please include how to Share google keep on whatsapp and other app
Psst... don''t tell anyone, but it will run OCR on your images and put the text in your note.
But you can''t bulk export and the API is not available in the free version - effectively making it a walled garden.
I want google to add lock specific note feature.
My favorite feature is Lables
But how can highlight a text
Nice
Being able to subscribe users to a [READ ONLY] memo or newsletter would make Google Keep vastly useful. Why this hasn't occurred to Google all these years blows my mind 😢
The apple watch throughout the whole video 🫣
Is it safe from hackers?
I used to love this used for many years in android and ios but recently find out they shared the data by default. Now I am looking for something different cross platform app
Anyone know of an alternative to Keep (other than ClickUp). Something that is really basic and easy like Keep. I just want to get off the Google train.
They might be forcing me to use Google products (funny enough this is why I stopped using Apple over 15 years ago), has anyone found a solution to sync Google Keep list tools with a best of breed list solution (one for groceries, one for to dos, etc)
July 2024 and you STILL cannot search inside of a note. Checked items are STILL randomly disorganized (NOT organized alphabetically or by date), and you STILL cannot sort checklist items by any metric other than manually. For having so much obscure functionallity it's baffling that Google neglected to include the basics.
I need rich formatting text on google keep :(
It's still behind apple notes.
I use Keep all the time, mainly for jotting down lyrics. I also note film trailers when at the cinema.
Exactly
i knew about all this, i wish it was more feature rich because it still seems way too featureless.
So how is your Apple Watch working with that Pixel?
Google keep needs a design overhaul.
@@janeleekeller at least some design changes. I'm bored of that design. I just use it because it syncs across platforms. And I cannot transfer my notes to another app 😢
I use both samsung notes and google keep. Keep is mostly for quick notes and typewritten notes. Quick because you just long press the icon and instantly make a note.
I want to use samsung notes but I can't transfer my data from keep. Samsung should do something for this.
I always feels like, this is like an App with huge potential & Google isn't properly exploring it.
Except the one thing it can't: security. Because my browser is logged into my Google account, all the Google apps are accessible without any password or PIN prompt. My Google photos, keep notes, gdrive, ... So I'm always hesitate to hand over my pc even for a second to others. They could atleast add an option to put a fucking PIN on these sites
Forgot i had Google Keep, lol
Adding a password on a note would be a good update
I use Google notes to save YT shorts videos for later, I just create a label, and save my favorite shorts videos by sharing them to the Google Keep app🙃
Same here!
Why not saving in RUclips?
@@haroonafridi231 that feature wasn't available when I wrote that comment
I have to admit I really wish Google Keep was more like Apple notes. 😢 It's so sad google can't it together. To many experimental apps that come out and get them get killed.
I use keep and samsung notes. They are THE BEST EVERRR!!
Nowhere near as lengthy of feastures as the samsung notes app..😢
keep google notes simple as is. no need for passwords, video, group security, other bloat features. if people want that, go download something else. google notes was originally a simple text editor, its slowly turning into a mini google drive.
The smallest widget option for Keep notes is the only widget I use on my Pixel's home screen.
The hand holding the Google phone on an Android channel is wearing an Apple Watch. 🥴
yh sad
Oops 😂
Exactly! Like make it make sense!
Unsubbed
I don't understand the problem lol Anyone can choose to go with an iPhone or an apple watch or a mac-I am impressed with both the Android stuff and the apple stuff as well-both deserve what's coming their way-no need to take side's-we should be grateful to have both of them instead 😉............
This app would be nearly perfect if it allowed you to group notes in a file system.
Why would you make it one big blob 100% dependent on tags for organization? WHY???
You missed another way to create a label by typing hastag
I wish they add a lock feature like apple notes
Huge thing. There is no categories, for example, work notes, personal notes, family notes, etc.
My only concern is that they will drop keep like many other apps over the years and I don't see a good way to exporting my notes out of keep.
I hate google apps on pc, its just a website
I got to admit i prefer keep over apple notes on the phone, but the overall experience mac/iphone is better with notes
Can I sort my grocery list alphabetically? Oh right...I can't!!! 🤬🤬🤬
Только добавить цифры 1,2,3 к тегам
i will very much prefer if keep note has the feature that allows us to find specific text location in a note
We can’t even create tables on Google Keep.
still no history after so many years
