The Endless Adventure Tip for Zürich. I think mr. Zurich can tell you all the perfect places. My recommendation for Switzerland, Zermatt, Davos, Bern... but the most fun you get with sport in Switzerland. So I recommend you one week ski holidays or hikking tours with a professional mountain guide.
I’m from Colorado been living in Zurich almost 8 years. I love this country. It’s clean, very low crime rate, however it is expensive. The veal dish you ate is actually beef, veal is just from a young calf making it very tender. The sausage is “snapping” because the casing are natural casing, made from the outer over the intestines. Yum!!!
Hi The Endless Adventure, the only thing that you haven't eaten which you definitely should have tried when you were in Switzerland was cheese fondue. It's a Swiss hot cheese dish which is eaten with bread, potatoes, vegetables and sometimes cold meat. The cheese is mixed with white wine and garlic and by heating up the mixture it becomes more viscous so you can dip your bread in it. It is really delicious :D You could also have tried some Swiss chocolates, but overall you guys did a very complete food tour!
Meissoun, I know it is a winter dish but raclette is also not the kind of food I would recommend when it's a heat wave. They did let it cool down a little bit (what you normally don't when you're eating raclette), but still the hot cheese dishes are not meant to be eaten when it is hot. I think the object of the food tour was to show non Swiss people what are typical Swiss dishes. Most of the food tours don't stick to one season with the selection of dishes they want to show to the viewers or one specific region in a country. So is Raclette a dish with it's origin in Wallis, can Rösti be linked to Kanton Bern, and so on. For that reason I think they could definitely have included fondue in their food tour. Just like I think they could have done a breakfast with Bircher Müsli.
I cannot get over how clean and clear the water in that river was.......that looked like fun. Love all things cheese. If you get a chance try a piece of APPENZELLER, made in Switzerland , and one of the great cheeses. I would love to visit, so damn pretty. Your hat was quite cute Allsion.
Appenzeller rocks, especially the aged variety. It's also the cheese that's used to make "Chäshörnli mit Öpfelmues", a traditional, very simple dish born out of necessity, which consists of tiny maccaroni-like pasta mixed with lots of grated medium-aged Appenzeller cheese, served with butter-fried breadcrumbs and chunky applesauce. It's just melty, gooey, buttery, crunchy, sweet, divine cheesyness...
This "rhubarb cake" is an allrounder, you can eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner or just as snack. We called it "Wähe" pron. WAY-YE. I'm usually eat it at every night at 3am. Eric - never take too much mustard in europe!
Ok, I've got snacks in hand and I'm ready for the food tour. I've had Raclette a couple of times and it does taste better than it smells, I'm surprised Eric hasn't had rhubarb before. I grew up eating rhubarb pies etc, and cooked rhubarb with ice cream is one of my favourite things :D
Greetings from Somerset UK! Hey, Eric, I can't believe you've never tried rhubarb! I f you want to be scientific, it's actually a petiole (leaf stem), and there aren't many traditional English veggie gardens that don't have at least one crown of rhubarb (we have two) - when the rhubarb begins to grow in England, it's a sign that winter can't last forever. Yeah, its great sweet, with ice cream, or with orange, but we always use a little of our own rhubarb when making chicken dishes, especially Jamaican curry chicken, or even in stuffing for a roast chicken. Can't go wrong!
Wow! You inspired me to go to Zurich it is such a beautiful city. The cheese plate looked delicious and ridiculously good. Also I was wondering if the water was still cold? because I imagine it is snow melt off based off your other video. I really love the amount of variety in foods that you try. Follow your wanderlust and go explore!
Lake zürich will warm up to around 25°C or 77°F give or take a few degrees depending on weather, and the rivers in Zürich all flow from lake through the city downwards so they are same temp as the lake pretty much. warmest lake water i've swam in was 82-86° in the shallow water around the 2 biggest islands, felt like taking a hot bath
Raclette has been picking up steam at restaurants and pubs in the states the past couple of years also as folks has been enjoining good cheeses. They use different cheeses also, so no always stinky. Just the method of heating and serving the cheese over potatoes or veggies, etc. Just look for restaurants with artisan cheese, if and when you get back to the States :)
I always enjoy your food tours, they’re great. For potential travellers though, it’s always helpful to know how much the dishes cost too? Helps you plan your budget!
I wouldn't be able to guess World’s Oldest Vegetarian Restaurant in Zurich. I already visited the world oldest restaurant in the world which is in Madrid
"Hiltl Restaurant is a vegetarian restaurant in Switzerland. The restaurant holds the Guinness world record for being the oldest continuously open vegetarian restaurant in the world" via en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hiltl_Restaurant :)
Hello Eric n Allison..the food that Allison had ordered is much bigger portion than what Mark Wiens had a year ago..just saying.. I'm enjoying your food tours..
I am so parental when I watch your videos ! i`m saying, dont get your feet caught in the gate in the river, dont burn your mouth on that cheese !! ha ah ! Enjoying my vicarious travel with you both. XX
Just stopped by to write, if you wanna have a personal guide for Basel (border to Germany and France), send me a message. And no, I don't wanna be part of a video. The tour would be completly private :)
Viel Spass.
I think Fondue originates from Switzerland and the are popular around the globe (Cheese, oil/meat and chocolate versions). I wouldn't be surprised if chocolate fountains didn't get their inspiration from a Swiss chocolate fondue.
Love your food videos guys, looked amazing. So sad that you missed rhubarb on your visit to Yorkshire! It's famous for growing it. Next time you are that way in the world try rhubarb and custard and rhubarb crumble, lush! x
This cake, called "Wähe", ist some sort of fruit cake and comes with different flavours: apple, pear, apricot, peach, rhubarb, plume... and it always is very delicious. When you come again, you should try another famous dessert, the "Zuger Torte" (Tarte from Zug, a city in CH). Another very famous dish is "Chäschüechli", a small pastry filled with cheese-cream.
You guys have a lot of good vibes, good energy, good music and good adventure. I would tell you more but I'm getting hungry watching all the interesting food you try.
I could have told you that you had way too much mustard on that wurst. The medium senf is very hot with horseradish. Not like our American mustard that is for sure. I learned the hard way also.
You must grow up with horseradish mustard to appreciate it. Similarly, I never grew up with those green or red Mexican hot peppers, so I cannot stomach them at all. But horseradish, so very flavorful and good with pork and things. I love it, and I don't eat it because some people think it is hot, but eat it due to the great flavor & how it brings out the flavor in food. Also used in Seder meal.
eggy goo? funny! why is the little gnome fiving that gesture? Is he not happy? be careful you little fair skinned babies! rhubarb?? My favvveee! hard to get in Florida...way to man up with the mustard/horseradish...so brave! once again a fabulous job!
LOVE this video! Zurich is on our list to hopefully make it to within the next year and we were researching some local food options. The raclette looks so gooey and amazing.
u guys r very cute...ur coffee spill makes u very relatable...u could've easily edit it out....HOWEVER, how can u not like onions et honey!! ha!!!x10000
Amazing couple. Amazing adventures and vlogs. Love to watch u both every day. Just discovered your chanel recently but it's amazing and rally looking forward for next vlog. Love and best of luck on next adventure. Scotland.Edinburgh.
Cool video! I've been to all those places but then again I live here. You forgot to mention the name of the "veal & hash rowns" dish! But I know why, it would be impossible to say...:) It is called "Züri Gschnätzlets mit Rööschti". Don't forget Fondue ... a melted pot of cheese where you dip bread on long forks into. And come to Lucerne next time, even more beautiful! (:
Try these words instead of "super" super adjective very good or pleasant; excellent. Similar excellent first-rate outstanding marvelous splendid exceptional peerless brilliant fabulous stellar top-notch cool smashing superb first-class remarkable magnificent fine exquisite glorious perfect great terrific divine neat banging sublime of the first water fantastic awesome superlative superior dazzling wonderful ace A1 mega crucial cracking tip-top wicked brill on fleek
Next time in switzerland you should try the national-sausage, the "Cervelat". It means there is "Cervelle"; French for Brain, is mixed in! But don`t worry, they diden`t mix in Brain anymore, since many years.
It's been quite a while since I tuned in with you guys because of things going on the past year, and I've got to say I missed you guys. Certainly feel comfortable behind this screen and feel as if I'm with friends giving me a good tour of beautiful destinations
Well Raclette is like THE most famous Swiss dish besides Fondue which you also have to try if you really like cheese. The rubarb „tarte“ you tried comes in very different types. My personal favourite is with grated apples and hashed almonds on the bottom but you can also get it with apricots, plums, berries etc. You should definitely visit other Swiss cities such as Lucerne, Geneva, Bern or a very old but wonderful small town called „Stein am Rhein“ which is located in the very north at the same called river Rhein (Rhine).
The vegetarian restaurant part was annoying. You were eating vegetables so , of course nothing is going to taste like meat.. " trying to taste like meat".. 😆😆😆 It's Gruyere cheese! Both are trying to talk at the same..
Your videos are never dull. How could they be? You two and your adventures are always incredibly interesting. I hope to be as you guys are. Please don't ever stop making these videos if you have the time. I love you guyss!!
Zurich is too expensive (swiss man here) you can eat much cheaper in smalls town around Zurich and the food is really good quality. Even raclette and fondue have lower price and taste better. Zurich is full of restaurants tourist traps, be careful with your money.
Creg (Craig) from Kinging-it would be happy to see you eat veg food... :) The rhubarb pie looks delicious... :) The Swiss do love their hot liquid cheese... (fondue really can be an experience) To where in Polska do you head...? :/
Sorry for what I'm going to say, but the Swiss food is horrible, and so unhealty. I live I Zurich and I like to eat healthy but the Swiss food it is not healthy at all.
Is it okay to share a plate in restaurants in Zurich? I myself am nkt abke to finish big plates and being asian, we are used to sharig plates, but i know in some countries, its frowned upon. Kindly let me know.
In 2018 my last trip to Zurich I had dinner at the Raclette Factory and I had the same dish. I had a large lunch and the Raclette plate that you had. Prices are reasonable there for Zurich. That is a good area to stay many places to eat and not far from the train station. Did you try any of the chocolate shops?
Nice to know they offer vegetarian foods as well. Other youtubers show mostly cheese, meat and chocolate which might be bit of a turn off for the healthy consumer.
Another great food video. You guys do that so well, great descriptions and pictures make me hungry. Zurich looks like a wonderful place to visit, clean, colorful and quaint. Eric, every time you eat something hot, sausage or molten lava cheese, it stresses me out! 😂 Hope your mouth feels better.
Wow! What an awesome day in Zurich! Sweets for breakfast, river swimming/floating, but that dinner....YUMM! Laughing at Eric's mustard OD. That'll clear out the sinuses, for sure! I love raclette! And rosti...and sausage. Good call on the roasted veggie mix...it all looked great! Perfect day...thank you!

The Endless Adventure you can not let the racclette cool down :) you have to eat it when its hot :D
The Endless Adventure Best episode ever👍👍👍 a real insider tour😊😊😊

You can't sell Veal as Beef. Then you need to declare it different on the menucart.
Zurich Geschnetzeltes is always made with veal. At least the original version of it. Never with beef! I‘m from Zurich.
@@karinhausammann2141 HELLO….. Veal is a young calf (cow) so it IS BEEF just from a young calf 😉
I live in Zürich and I have to say you went to all the right places!
Can you tell me how much i can earn as a waiter in zurich or cleaner in month
gagan santu wala about 4'500 Fr. You earn circa 20 Francs in an hour.
Greetings from Zurich 👍🏻🌎✌️🏻
And I'm coming to ETH Zurich and I'm already scared how can I afford to be there
The vegetarian food looks really good!
So hungry now!!!
Hi The Endless Adventure, the only thing that you haven't eaten which you definitely should have tried when you were in Switzerland was cheese fondue. Swiss people only eat fondue when it’s cold outside. So since we’re in the middle of a heat wave, it’s definitely not the right food for the season!
MEISSOUN well.. in Zurich yes but not in the French part of Switzerland😎😎😎

The swimming is only for pro swimmer but great fun😎😎😎
I hope you two make time to have the occasional romantic evening meals together - where you’re not recording and commenting on your dinner 😀
when you actually live in zürich and never gone to this places, that is literally me.
tuani2107 same here
Bruder same, kein geld mann 😂
Can I get weed out there ? 😥
Tourist traps mostly.
I did chuckle when I saw how much mustard you were putting on your sausage.
Swiss mustard is often much less strong than regular mustard.

"you need to let it solidify first" u wot, no, raclette turns disgusting when it solidifies!

Thanks!
What did this guy think the mustard in Switzerland/Germany would be????????????? Friggin French's
I could have told you that you had way too much mustard on that wurst. The medium senf is very hot with horseradish. Not like our American mustard that is for sure. I learned the hard way also.
Mary Sterck that was funny 😂😂😂
As a swiss person, that's not too much, that's just the right amount. :^)
Overrice Unless you are in St. Gallen, there is every bit of mustard too much😂
You must grow up with horseradish mustard to appreciate it.

So many different foods in one day 😂 glad you enjoyed your short stay in Zurich! It was nice having you ☺️✌🏻
Thanks for all the recommendations Mimi!!
Hello Mimi, how are you doing today?
Well Raclette is like THE most famous Swiss dish besides Fondue which you also have to try if you really like cheese.
The rubarb „tarte“ you tried comes in very different types. My personal favourite is with grated apples and hashed almonds on the bottom but you can also get it with apricots, plums, berries etc.
You should definitely visit other Swiss cities such as Lucerne, Geneva, Bern or a very old but wonderful small town called „Stein am Rhein“ which is located in the very north at the same called river Rhein (Rhine).
The Hiltl is a German restaurant. Apparently, no original swiss food is served in Zürich -or Swiss food is too bad.
The vegetarian restaurant part was annoying. You were eating vegetables so , of course nothing is going to taste like meat.. " trying to taste like meat".. 😆😆😆
It's Gruyere cheese!
Both are trying to talk at the same..
You should definitely never let the raclette cool down... it much better when it's piping hot and almost liquid !!!
The swimming in Zurich is for gay men. Zurich has a large LGBTQ and swimming for men.
Haiiii...i am Harry, this is the first time i see your video, and i'm so waiting for the next video
Thanks Harry!
Why don't Americans use both a knife and fork, instead of usually cutting with the side of the fork??
next time definitely try a cordon bleu and a saucisson vaudois on leek/patatoe :)
#2..lol just wanted to do this
Your videos are never dull. How could they be? You two and your adventures are always incredibly interesting.
I hope to be as you guys are. Please don't ever stop making these videos if you have the time. I love you guyss!!

Why would you compare the vegetarian meat to real meat?! Of course it won’t taste the same! Come on. 🥵
Nice to know they offer vegetarian foods as well. Other youtubers show mostly cheese, meat and chocolate which might be bit of a turn off for the healthy consumer.
No, there's no horseradish in the mustard! That's real mustard you're tasting for the first time instead of the weak stuff you've tried before.
Schober is my favourite. there is a tiny backyard, where you can sit between plants and enjoy life :).
Great video!!! Quick question- where is your purple backpack from? It looks perfect for adventures!
An amazing video,Thanks
That was a lot of mustard! 🥵😅
