- TOP 5 HARDEST SLAYER RIFFS - DIVINE INTERVENTION EDITION
These are the riffs that were deemed impossible to me when I was growing up learning and wanting to play all of this awesome fast heavy stuff. I think I bought the tab book after playing guitar for about a year and it just blew my mind how technical it was. With the uprise of death metal and its growing appeal to a lot of metalheads back in the 90's, I feel that those influences rubbed off on Slayer at that time, which lead to the push in technicality found on Divine Intervention. It's still my favorite Slayer album, period. For the overwhelming majority, you guys can have your Reign In Blood. I'll take this one all day every day over it. With that said here are my top 5 hardest Slayer riffs from Divine Intervention, and possibly Slayer's entire discography. These riffs really put up a fight back then, and still do to this day for me. Most underrated slayer album!!! Riffs are pure evil
Divine Intervention was such an underrated album. Slayer was exclusively using ESP guitars for that album with Marshall Jmp-1 rackmount preamp. Paul Bostaph,sounded really good on that album,but I love Dave Lombardo. Keep up all your great work my man.
My favorite album! Best guitar production and song writing imho although most people will say reign in blood is the best album ;)

I tell people all the fucking time, Serenity in Murder is Slayer toughest track to nail down, people wanna talk shit on KFK but he wrote some wrist breakers on Divine Intervention. This video is so fucking sick! Good shit Kev.
Great to see you gave Divine some love. I had it back on cd in the day. And although I do understand why Reign got alot of credit, I'm not sure why Divine barely got any. For me it was much more dynamic than Reign. The production was drier and Bostaph's drumming was pretty insane. Still not sure why the album isn't discussed all that much compared to the rest of their catalogue.

I also practiced Slayer and I gotta say I learned few usefull licks as well. That band was so special to me. There was so much hate towards Slayer. People claiming they suck and stuff. If you get to where Slayer was, then you know you dont suck.

Awesome vid!! Dittohead is just brutally amazing. I still can't nail it in its entirety! Great tune and a superb challenge. And mentioned in previous comments, it is seemingly an underrated album that is just amazing through and through.

It isn't from the DI album, but I always thought the intro riff to 'At Dawn They Sleep' was kind of difficult in terms of getting the timing right.

People sleep on this album when its very technical and has great mid paced bangers and mashers.
The least listened to Slayer album for me. Just never picked it up or really sat and gave it a chance. Something about the drums just seems off. Today's the day tho I'll crank it and boost my sub 😎
It's got a great sound that pounds the subs!! The opening song has an odd timing to it that took me a minute to wrap my head around when I was a kid playing in a band and bought this on release day... this might of caused many non-players to just think it was wierd or out of time and turn it off?? Blast it up and let the album breathe a little! {;o)
