You're looking at the surface instead of digging deeper. Look into how NFTs allow true ownership of digital property that no company can take away from you. That's why the most important and impactful projects carry the value they do. They're shaping the future of how humanity interacts with technology. On the surface it looks like expensive ape cartoons.
Solid. Market is in a strong bear, but there is so much happening with intense potential. That being said, the level of expectation is incredibly high and it's going to be incredibly difficult to deliver on that expectation. Only time can tell.
What makes you believe someone purchasing is dumb? Many of the ape owners I know are exceptionally intelligent and successful as a result. Understanding and learning will get you a lot further in life than judgement.
@@MattBorchert ofcourse. I just thought that anyone can draw these apes in your own style and sell them. So how is that I see so many of these out there ? How do other folks draw these apes and sell them ? Thanks
@@demoscratos4577 They're doing so illegally. It is okay to draw your own apes obviously, but they need to be substantially different enough from BAYC as not to potentially confuse consumers into thinking they're Bored Apes.
I am new to all this and educating myself. Two questions: If an NFT has perks like access to an event - where would these perks be visible? And where does communication with NFT holders happen? Where would I discover such announcement?
Currently, and I assume this will change over time, the vast majority of projects communicate through their discord servers. Most of their websites will explain the benefits of owning the NFT. That being said, discord is typically the most up to date and accurate source of information, often in the announcements channel.
@@MattBorchert Thank you. Seems like as an NFT holder there is little documentation that the specific NFT include those perks. I would have thought it would somehow be minted.
Do you think it's an issue that the apes are selling for so much now? The original buyers who bought because of their love of the idea and artwork will be gone - the community will be rich ppl, or collectors who won't interact with the other members. Or maybe they will - just thinking out loud.
The vast majority of the apes I speak to every day are people who bought early and never sold. Those that choose to sell are getting life changing money for them. I totally get your comment and it's definitely changed things, but overall I think it's a positive. The team now released mutants to try to get more affordable club membership out there as an example of new ways to change that.
@@MattBorchert cool - thanks for the reply. Good idea on the mutants too. The realist in me sees this as a bit like dogecoin - needing constant input of gimmicks to keep it alive. But the real OGs will stick with it, and I hope it becomes something really interesting.
