Im state pensioner who lives alone with my little dog companion.I dont drink, smoke or live in any sort of luxury.Started my first job at 14 years old and am now 68 .I have OsteoArthritis in various joints ad the cold affects this.I get thr full State Pension and missed out by £3.42p in Pension Credit.I now have to pay for my dental and eye treatment etc.Wasnt entitiled to the cost of living payments and now the only extra help i had to look forward to was the winter fuel allowance. I only leave my home to take my dog a little walk most days if able to.There is definitely a great injustice in the whole pensiion system. It neeeds revised and sorted.

If you're on the new pension which i am you can't claim pension credit as i am a couple of pounds over the limit. Last winter my bill was a thousand pounds, with the prices going up. I try to cut down but me and my husband are both disabled so we need to keep warm. Last year the government gave us 500 pounds in total to help with the bills which was very gratefully received. This year i don't know what we are going to do. We'll have to freeze and starve to death. At least that'll help the government out they won't have to pay our pensions out for which i have worked forty years for but the illegal immigrants will be ok in their nice warm hotels with plenty to eat, who haven't contributed a thing to this country

What rankles the most is that this plan was ready to be put into effect before Labour came to power whilst it schemed and plotted to make it all the Tories fault if it was challenged. What is anger making was Reeve's venom when called upon to voice her plan. I couldn't believe the unnecessary aggression in her voice and I can only suppose that was because she knows how evil the act is. She is one nasty lady and I use the word 'lady' very loosely indeed. She is not a person for turning. One can determine that quite easily. Her own perception of her 'strengths' is going to be measured by her ability to bully and enjoy schadenfreude, though why she feels the need for pleasure from punishing the most vulnerable in society, I have no idea. She's either in denial or total ignorance of how most pensioners still have to live. Middle class blinkered. Thankfully it wasn't ME who put any cross on a Labour candidate's ballot paper. And yet.... there hasn't been any great outpouring of disgust from any Party. I'm horrified to have heard only silence from the Lib Dems for whom I did vote. Ed Davey is probably going to be far too busy trying to resurrect some kind of financial help for social care. Any protests have been weak and mealy mouthed but have never been more needed than for old people with weak voices. So I no longer have an opinion on whether this is broadly fair or unfair, nor its rightness or wrongness. Because I'm just numb, and hoping life doesn't go on too much longer for me. I've tried to let things settle in my mind, and tell myself I'll get by without the winter fuel payment but I can't, because I won't. I feel hopeless and completely defeated as well as betrayed. I wish this woman in Hades and I'm sure if there is any justice through karma, she'll get her tranche of that at some point in her future.

I feel I have been lied to, i wont get antrhing, or millions of others that have paid into the system but people who have never worked will reap the rewards. I work in a supermarket I am not rich. The government made us all pay into a privare pension to top up our state pension. I only have 5 years left though I have to do two extra years. I wanted to retire at 65 im partialy sighted hard of hearing and have joint and back pain i do a full time manal job since 1979. Now I cant even top up my private pension enough theres no time. Not that i could have over the years with austerity and now the cost of living. Robert Maxwell has nothing on the lying government! And yes we are angry it should never have been done like this people should have paid into their own pensions and anyone at that point who didnot have enough time to get one should of been given benefits if they did not have enough, this problem would not have been here today if they had been responsible with our money. Mind you a life time fixed Isa would of been better, try ad get any money out early from your private pension and your taxed so heavily that you lose most of it. I fully agree that ALL low income retired people should get the benefit but a large number of pensioners have a decent income and have not suffered from mortgage increases as most own their homes outright. It is simple - benefits are for those in need so means test it like other benefits.
