  • When the Los Angeles Lakers and Toronto Raptors matched up on January 22, 2006, there was seemingly little reason to watch… except for the fact that one of the players in that game was Kobe Bean Bryant.
And on that Sunday night in January, good God did Kobe Bryant deliver, turning in an unforgettable performance that established the modern era benchmark for single-game dominance.

True story, I was suffering from a flu that night, had the game on and didn’t think much about it…. but I was wide awaken by the start of the 3rd qtr onward. One of the best and most entertaining games I have ever witnessed. Kobe, I miss you 😢

Fun fact: Ray Allen and Steve Nash played on this night. The Sonics and Bucks went on to play 3 overtime sessions, each of the last quarters (4th and 3 OTs) ending with huge clutch shots by both Nash and Allen. Its a classic game and worth checking out the highlights if youre a basketball fan. Ray Allen ending with 42 points lol. Forever overshadowed by one of the greatest single player performances of all time.
Sincerly, a somewhat bitter but respectful Ray Allen Fan lol.
Before anyone hates on me, Im a basketball fan first. Kobe was incredible. RIP, dont mean to take anything away from his night, just found it cool that we had two incredible classic games on the exact same night.

Kobe is 11-13. I have him at 12 with Curry ahead of him. He ain't nowhere close to shaq, Hakeem, Russel, wilt, Magic, Lebron, Kareem, Jordan, bird, Duncan etc. To even put him in same convo as Bron, Jordan and Kareem is lunacy. Only top three he is in is for cultural relevance and brand, alongside Jordan and Lebron. As a player tho, no not at all close.
