    When I was a probation officer, there was a case in town where a lady left her 2 year old home alone to go get her nails done. She decided to try and rob the nail salon too and was arrested but she didn't tell anyone there was a child alone at her apartment. The baby spent almost 3 weeks alone, surviving on just what she could find in lower cabinets. Everyone at the office was seething about it and just praying she wasn't put on probation because none of us would have been able to be professional around her.

      I'm sorry you're going through that, but I hope this might help a bit: alcoholics love and feel guilty like everyone, even though they don't show it. The alcohol isn't more important than you, it's more important than themselves and the guilt of waking up after blacking out can start that spiral all over again, especially when you've missed a holiday or a special occasion like a birthday, or ended up having to half ass something that was supposed to be special. Listen up, folks. Being young is not an excuse to neglect your responsibilities as a parent. I'm just 21, going on 22, and I have two children under the age of 2. Yet, I manage to juggle being a full-time student, a full-time employee, and most importantly, a father. It's not an easy feat, but my wife and I make it work. We prioritize our babies over everything else, which means we don't get date nights often. But we are okay with that because our children come first. I always ensure that my wife and kids are fed before I even think about serving myself. Their needs take precedence over mine, and that's how it should be. These babies deserve the best, and it's our duty to provide them with that. Mistreating or abandoning them is despicable and unacceptable.
    If you choose to have a child, you must understand the consequences. Yes, the impact doesn't hit you until they are born, but you have to suck it up and nurture them. They will cry, break things, eat all your food, and make you go broke. But that's their job, and it's our job to take care of them and raise them. I don't care about your age, your past experiences, or where you are in life. If you choose to keep that baby, then you must take care of it. You don't have to be rich, but you must be a parent. Love that child and be the parent you wish you had or want to be. I never had a father, but I'm doing better than my biological and backup had ever to offer. These babies never deserve to be mistreated, and I won't stand for it. It's time to step up and be responsible parents.❤

    This happened to someone i knew. this girl named Giselle in my sisters classes in high school. Shortly after graduating she had a kid and also attended university. One night she wanted to go to a party but couldn't find a babysitter, so she put the baby in the crib, got a towel and shoved it in the crack in the bottom of the door of the baby's room so no one would hear them crying, and left them in the apartment alone. fortunately the neighbor heard the baby and called the cops, unfortunately Giselle didn't get charged with anything but her child was removed from the home.

    • @BlazeDupree1525
      @BlazeDupree1525 8 месяцев назад +4

      Honestly I agree 100% with this. I think parents should pass a psychiatric exam before legally being able to bring their child home and having a social worker check in periodically and randomly for wellness checks on the home for any families with a child under 18 living under their roof. As harsh and strict as that sounds too many kids get left in homes where they are neglected and physically or emotionally abused and it's not fair to them that their parents don't want to take responsibility for their actions. Plus if there are more strict rules it might deter those irresponsible parents from having kids in the first place.

    My mom was an alcoholic and pill popper til I was 10. As a 4/5 year old I would get dropped off at home by my dad who would immediately have to go back to work and every time I walked into the house my mom would be passed out on the living room floor or couch or her bed if she could make it up the stairs. I remember putting a blanket on her and stuffing a pillow under her head if she was on the ground. I would also climb up on the counter to grab two cups so I could put water in one and her favorite wine in the other and set it beside her for when she woke up. A 5 year old shouldn’t know how to do that but it’s made me mature a lot. I now currently struggle with my own drinking issues but I know when I have a kid, my baby is going to mean more than a poison that “numbs the pain”. I’m proud of anyone that at least is trying to get sober. It’s hard but you got this okay!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️

    I don’t think they should’ve released the child to grandma, there’s no way she wasn’t in on that. I don’t know anyone who has access to someone else’s ring app at a residence they don’t live at. They definitely used that doorbell as a babysitter of sorts, a “well I can see the home on the app so I’m watching him” mindset. Any normal grandma would be telling the cops to bust that door down and get the baby or questioning further on the situation as surely they’d ask what they mean they’ve arrested their child and are here to get the baby wondering why her child wasn’t with their grandchild, she knew exactly what it was about and that that child was home alone.

    As a single mom who raised 3 children and helps others who were like me, this leaving kids alone is nothing new and, unfortunately, happens a LOT! Even mentioned historically. A lack of a support system makes the chances of this happening much more likely. And they want to outlaw abortion. Who the hell will pay for it all. Rich people are not thinking it through at all. Pretty soon, we will have gangs of homeless kids on the streets like in 3rd world countries that people can exploit too. Probably the rich who made the laws. I never left my kids, no one should. Think of how many go unreported?

    • @YetAnotherManWithNoName
      @YetAnotherManWithNoName 8 месяцев назад +3

      I don't know. If my mom would've been allowed to, I would've been aborted. Instead I was just neglected. I think I'm much better off.

    • @pensandshakers
      @pensandshakers 8 месяцев назад

      So what's your explanation for all of the abandoned/neglected kids up to this point? When abortion has been federally available across the US? If your supposition about people aborting their unwanted kids was true, there wouldn't be any, would there?
      The simple fact is that these people DO want their kids or at least THINK they want kids. And if they didn't, they could give them up for adoption immediately after birth or up to a year. Really young kids like that are almost immediately adopted. There's a massive waiting list of people who want little babies because they don't carry the trauma that older children do, and don't have the yo-yo yank back and forth with CPS taking them out of stable foster homes to go back to unstable bio homes.
      There's a lot wrong with our current system, but none of your comment is correct.

    0:57 They used to sell buzz balls at CVS and stopped in 2010. I would’ve been 8 or 9 at the time, and I asked my Grandpa if I could get one, cause I thought it was a soda. He replied, “If I get you one of those, you’ll end up with a public intoxication charge 2 minutes after drinking it.” I thought it was just a funny way to say, “You’re too young,” at the time. I looked at the ingredients in one recently, and he wasn’t kidding.

    My former next door neighbor did this. I had just come back from dropping off my older son at school and was getting my baby out of his carseat when two little girls both looked less than 3 the younger maybe around 1, walked out of the apartment next to mine in diapers and just saying "mama?" I went to check the apartment after I called to see if someone was in there and no adult to be seen. I called the police. Needless to say she was arrested when she finally did show up. Turns out she'd left them alone all night to go clubbing with her sister and it wasn't the first time, just the first she had been caught. Last i heard girls were safe with relative and mom in jail.

    This doesn't sound too far off from my own situation when I was little. Ended up finding out via eavesdropping when I was 14 into family conversations that my mom took me home after I was born. Had to stay in the hospital for a few months, so I believe I was also somewhere around 5 months as well. She ended up partying and leaving me home alone on the bed, my grandmother didnt find out til two days later. She was surprised I didn't fall off it or anything since it wasnt a crib, it was an actual bed. Not surprising seeing how my mom proceeded to raise me the few years I did end up staying with her when I was little. Total neglect, we didnt have conversations and she would snap and get pissed at me for even looking at her, god forbid i would try and start a conversation. Cops were a usual reoccurrance every other week or so. On top of that she expected me to take care of my three younger brothers when I was only around 7. I was a "brat" and a "bad older sibling" if i didnt feed them or entertain them the whole day while she just slept or smoked. And if i wasn't in the mood, she'd lock me in my room for the whole day for being said "brat". Safe to say now at 20, even if she tries to make up for all shes done, shes still a piece of shit.
    I hate parents like these.

    Sadly this is gonna become more common now that Roe v Wade overturned. People who arnt ready or just plain shouldn't or dont want to have kids, will get stuck with the sudden massive responsibility and expectations. Neglect and abuse is often the result of too much pressure and not enough support. It takes a lot of willpower to suddenly put your own wants and vices aside for someone else and sadly not everyone is willing to do that. Not everyone is rasied able to do that. And this is the sad results of that lack of will.Lives ruined. Reputations lost. Families broken. All for a buzz that could have been delivered to the house via doordash.

They are supposed to be the center of the universe when you're a parent. There's something so dirty and wrong with abandoning a child. It's just not in our evolution at all. Sad as it is to say, I really do wish we could gatekeep parenthood like that. We gatekeep it for adoption. Cars, guns, liquor, smokes, tattoos... We gatekeep all of those. But raising a tiny human gets left to whoever is lucky enough to get knocked up? Shouldn't we have some kind of periodic, random child welfare checks for new parents that *doesn't* rely on tips about abuse already happening?
