Hey. Great shave. Boars do pick up soap well but I prefer my synthetics / badgers. Hope you'll enjoy shaving with the vintage Gillettes. Have a good rest of your weekend Sir
Great shave. Love my SOC. I also have the Omega Professional, but this time I tried the cold water soak in the fridge for 24hrs, then vigorous scrub on a towel for 10mins, then repeat for 2 more nights. Broke the brush in beautifully and now it's better than the Omega. Love the SOC especially when I use The Fat. Cheers,
If you like Zenith brushes, the B03-A26 is widely regarded as the best brush they make. It has less backbone than the chubby but a bit more than the SOC. The density is also much higher than the SOC with softer tips.
Nice video, man! Great to see the SOC instead of your usual fancy badgers. I really wanted to love that brush, but it was just too floppy for me, which I've experienced with the majority of boars that I've tried, to be fair. It took some trial and error on mine part, but I'm happy with the two boars I have now - Zenith B2 and Semogue Torga C5. Hope those vintages arrive soon! USPS hasn't been doing me any favors as of late.
Hey man nothing wrong if it didn’t work for you . Different strokes for different folks right . I have to revisit my Zenith again soon. I had the copper one which i think is a B2 but not sure. The knot was excellent for sure. These board are a fun experience after using badgers primarily. I’ll check out the C5 as well . Also, thanks again for sending those over and no rush. Take care bro
I have the Zenith. 28x57mm chrome plated copper brush. Love its handle weight. I broke in the tips-only on a burlap like fabric. Its wonderfully soft. When I use it I only wet the tips, which helps it retain more lather yet releases only what I need.
I think I have the copper one laying around . That knot was amazing. I tried to remove it and ended up messing up the knot a bit in the process. Oh well still enjoy these :) . Cool tip might try that . Take care Doug
Great shave bro… man I really want to try this blutt razor but like you said, once you find a couple razors you love it’s hard to find the need to buy more.
I just bought this Blutt .99 still waiting on it. I am hoping it has better glide on the face than my Overlander SS. Love that razor though. What's your GOAT razor? Right now I am torn between my BB Ti Machined and Overlander Aluminum.
I know you said in this video that your top 3 razors have killed your RAD, but I'd really like to know what you think of the Chiseled Face Legacy Ti razor.
Im not sure how much i will love it since it’s on the milder side of things and you have to ride the top cap. But I think I can get a buddy to lend it for a few days
John, have you used any slants like the Merkur 37/39c or the RazoRock Wunderbar? If so, how would they compare if terms of efficiency / smoothness with the various Blutt plates?
Hello john, is there any difference between blackland blackbird in titanium and stainless steel? In terms of face feel during the shave, do you feel something different? Second question: i have a sensitive skin and i shave every other day, what gap of blutt razor do you suggest? i am a little torn between 0,67 and 0,86. thank you in advance and i love your videos
I felt the titanium Blackbird to be less aggressive feeling probably mostly due to the light weight that it has. I did enjoy the Stainless version but it felt redundant owning both so I sold it before I purchased the Titanium. For the Blutt BR-1 you should probably go with the .86 gap. The .67 if you have really sensitive skin and shave every day. I hope that helps. Thanks for the kind words! Take care

Thanks man . Yeah I’m a Badger guy myself but enjoy Cushing things up. Thanks again and to you as well

Thanks for the tip . Not crazy about the aluminum handles but might have to give it a shot! Sounds like a great one . Thanks take care
Sorry for the necro comment: Are there any variants not in a metal handle?

Thanks brother . Yeah can’t fault you for that . It’s a fantastic razor but you do have some great ones
Good evening…nice comfortable relaxing shave. The cast of characters doesn’t always have to be new to be enjoyable, huh? Cheers…
Thank you Calvin. It definitely was relaxing :) . You’re right, I enjoy my shaves the most when I am familiar with the gear . Cheers

Where do you buy your Tungsten Persona 74 razor blades?

@@johnshaves1996 That would be enough in order to form an opinion about it. I'd really appreciate it!
RAD - razor acquisition disorder 🤣

I have never tried a slant razor sorry

@@johnshaves1996 thank you very much! Yes your comment is extremely useful. When blutt razor will be available again I will buy the 0.86 mm gap!
@@francescofarro5548 let me know what you think! .86 is very smooth in my opinion
