Hi, thank you for the great video! I’m currently debating between the WR1 with a 0.80 gap and the WR2 with either a 1.05 or 1.35 gap. Could you share your thoughts on which one provides a smoother shaving experience overall? I’m looking for a balance of efficiency and comfort. Appreciate your insights!

Nice shave and Welcome back. I thought utube glitched up. Maybe CDB will make a comeback as well lol. Your vids have always been straight forward and informative - appreciate that. Yes , do the Apex review. I have the Apex+ SS and had the Aluminum. Honestly couldn’t tell a big difference between the 2 - actually thought the + was smoother likely with the weight. Might be my top razor. It reminds me of the Overlander but on steroids - 2 steps higher but crazy smooth for the efficiency. Almost as efficient as Blackbird for me and more comfortable. Underrated in the community id say. Only thing I don’t like is handle is a bit heavy. I think the Yates Merica slots nicely between the Overlander and Apex +. I have the TI. See you on the next one.

Hey John, glad to see you upload a new video! I’ve been watching your old content when i was shopping for some DG brushes. Ended up getting a B11 and a B14. My girlfriend wrapped up 4 years of med and is now in her first year of residency… but congrats to you on getting into med school. What area do you want to specialize in? Would love to see an Apex video. I picked up the standard plate Apex in machined finish about a couple months ago. Standard plate is plenty efficient for me - glad I didn’t go for the Plus. Take care brother.

Definitely do a vid on the alysworth! Can you compare it to the overlander ATG capability. Once you got me on the Overlander... I haven't turned back. It's atg is amazing. Love mild razors. That's almost 2 years ago now. Time flies. Nuts.

Have you ever used the Merkur slant bar? I love mine I have a fast growing coarse beard such as yourself. I have the lupo 72 i was blown away how smooth and efficient it is. I like my slant bar a little bit better, but not by much.

John what happened to you and the guys from the community? It’s like everyone quit wet shaving in the last 2 years. Most channels haven’t even made new videos in a year or two. Did something happen in the community that made everyone quit?

@johnshaves1996 I have recently been trying your method.. it has really made me appreciate my badger brushes more. My question is do you get a ton of residual slickness? I have been using BB Ti and Wolfman WR2 1,25... my lathers turn out great like yours, but when I rub my cheek after a stroke, my cheek is almost dry with almost no residual slickness. Doesn't seem to impact the shave, no pulling, tugging, or irritation.. justr weird, my usual method I am used to a ton of residual slickness... am I doing something wrong, or any idea why? Soaps used: SV Opuntia, Gentleman's Nod Finca Vigia, NO Monoi de Tahiti, DG Shore

Great face lathering with a Badger brush I've seen on RUclips. I have a couple of Yaqi 26mm Badgers and they are great for face lathering. Like you, with a synthetic like my Simpson T3, I can cut the loading time in half, 15 seconds. Can you do a video of bowl lathering with a badger. please. I've tried bowl lathering with my badgers and I find that they really hog the lather. I don't get the same problem with a synthetic.

This is the first time I have seen anyone shave against the grain for their first pass! Nice video.
