Make Beautiful Silver Vintage Jewelry
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 17 фев 2017
- In this video I will show you how to made this vintage styled silver necklace. I will be using a square labradorite cabochon to make this piece but you can really use any stone you like. As for the silver all you really need is some wire, sheet metal, fine silver bezel wire and a silver chain.
If you are looking for more tools and materials that I use, well you're in luck! I made a page on my website just for that and I'm updating all the time so bookmark it to stay up to date:

Love your design. One trick I was taught to make beads of metal was to make my own jump rings in different sizes. Then when you want beads of the same size just use the same size jump ring and head away. As long as you use the same size wire your beads will be the same. There are so many ways to get to the finished product. I learned so much from watching and listening to your explanations. Thank you!
Excellent tutorial, actually a few tutorials all in one!
I love your style. Thank you so much!😃
Beautiful piece and learnt from you. Thank you

I'm floored. This is exactly what I've been trying to learn. Took 1 online course, then worked my way though a book - so I'm anxious to know how to do the rest. What you showed is EXACTLY what I've needed to know. As a lampworker, I want to include my own cabochon. Squeeee! I'm so excited. I realize this took you quite a long time to film, and all I can say is THANK YOU. To me - it's so worth it as I will go back and watch this over many times. You're the best! Thanks, Randy!
I had been needing this soooo badly!! Thanks for your time and effort!!
+Karen Martin no problem, if you dont mind me asking what part of this video did you need?

😁
Nice work of you :)
My goodness - this is just what I've been needing to see. I'm new to all this and stuck on adding the balls/bail part. Now I have a better idea of where I can do better - lots of information here. Also, my silver balls were getting stuck on the solderite board even with reheating. SO, I'll switch to my carbon block and use flux.... two important change ups. All I can say is THANK YOU - I know this is absolutely free information and I'm so very happy. You, kind sir, are wonderful.
Really its a very helpful and informative video for my business. Thanks for sharing.
You are awesome.

Fantastic! A tip for those balls. If you put them in a tea plastic tea strainer you A won't lose them and B, won't have to go fishing in your pickle to get them.
Very nice, thanks for the effort.

Thank you! With the right tools and time you can makes something just like this or even better. 😀👍
Great tutorial! Thank you.
Thank you. =)
Beautiful piece, and what a great idea to use the segmented/ball wire to create your balls! I'm definitely going to add that to my repertoire!
I was also blown away by how you soldered everything onto the backplate at one time. It didn't really look like all of the solder had flowed, and I was skeptical that it would all hold, but clearly it did.
+wendyannh soldering it like this can fail some times. If you do try this be sure to check that every part has been soldered. I took some time to learn the best solder placments to make this work every time.
Thank you! This was awesome 🙌🏻
Well thanks for watching 😊
thank you for sharing and that piece turned our very very nice.....
Paulette from Canada
No problem and thank you for watching 😀👍
Amazing design from start to finish 👏 I've learnt so much with this, thank you for sharing your hard work. It looks beautiful 😍
I feel so bad that I am not yet in a position to support you and the other couple of channels that have taught me so much. I am not going to forget though and as soon as possible I will start doing the Patreon thing. I realise that this wasn't made in a couple of minutes and I'm so grateful for the tuition. Thanks again.
+Foxiepaws ACAnderson don't feel bad, some free ways you can help is just watching and sharing videos.
I'm so glad I found your channel! Thanks for sharing your talent! KANSAS
WOW! You outdid yourself Randy! This is amazing! I've never seen anyone make something from the drawing to the end and I never knew you could do some of these steps. Especially putting all the edges on at once! I am blown away. I wish I could give you more than a thumbs up. I also wish I could take a class! you are astounding! Thank you SOOO much!
+Debbie Minter (Dharlee) No problem at all. I happy to hear that you learned something from my video :) One way you can help me out is using my affiliate links in the description when you need to buy supplies. Basically I get a small kickback from amazon if you use the link, and it don't cost you anything extra. Anyways, I will be making some new videos soon. :)
GomeowCreations Do you get that on anything from Amazon, or strictly tools/supplies?
+Debbie Minter (Dharlee) if you use that link and buy anything on amazon it will still give me a kickback. I just have it set up so it will take you to items i use in my videos or things I have bought myself so if you navigate away from that it will still work.
I wish I knew this before I ordered something last night. I will do that from now on!
It's not a kickback, Randy; it's a commission. Big difference! ;-)
such skill! great work on that bail!
+Ta Meu Bem Thank you. :)

Fantastic video, great job and design. Hope you make many more like this.
Thanks and I'm editing a video right now that will show you how to set flush settings. 😄👍
Loved this video~ learned so much~ Thank you! I would love to see you do a video on how to make Navajo Pearls. I have always wondered how they do that.
I will look into it 😀👍
Great video, and shows all the essentials in such short time! I have just a couple of small tips for anyone making something like this: if the bezel is a bit too small you can gently hammer it all around - it will stretch a bit and the stone will fit and you don't have to remove any material (this will also flatten the seam in case it's any thicker). Then, placing the spot where the ends are soldered together at the bottom edge will make it most invisible (sometimes seams can oxidize a bit differently from the surrounding material during time, this way it doesn't show on the side). Last, some softer stones need to be protected from polishing mediums so it's good to do most of polishing before setting the stone and just do the last cleanup afterwards. Just some small tips I've learned, your example is absolutely beautiful and needed none of these advice but thought I'd share them anyway!
Yes!! You're back!!
+Jordan Tyson Yes I'm lol
GomeowCreations can you tell me how to harden my jump rings? Thank you ever so much
Fantastic video!! Thank you so much :)
Than you very much. 😄👍
Very nice work of yours.
I do it the same way, just instead of using solder like urs, i use a lil bit of paste on the easy moving parts, and afterwards i use solder, it makes me use much less solder, it makes it easyer, and plus, the purity of the piece is much higher because i have to use less solder in total. This is just my expirience, but as i see it works on u so well done.
Thnx for sharing.
Well thank you and yeah paste would work better for this but at the time I don't think i had any haha.
I enjoyed watching you make this pendant. it is beautiful. I have a lot of this stone. I learned alot. thank you. Im waiting for some tools to arrive in a few minutes from UPS. Im getting a rolling mill. Im so excited. can't wait to use it. I have cleaned my silver scraps and to see how it comes out when I melt it how fun for me. lol I will watch you again. Oh I'm Mo short for Maureen
Well let me know if you have any questions about using your rolling mill. 😁👍
I really like your video as well as your choice of music! I've already used your idea of how to make twisted wire. I'm making a pendant for a friend, so Ill send you a picture of the finished product when I'm done.
Thank you, it is nice to hear what people think of my work. I would like to see the pendant when you are done. If you have any questions fee free to ask and I will try to help as much as I can.
This is the best tutorial online :D thank you for this, it's amazing! :)
+Hope Good Thank you very much!
Nice video! I haven’t even lit a torch yet, but this is what I want to ultimately make. I’m dreaming big, I know! I stumbled on your video, and with a lot of patience and practice, I think I can get a good start from what you showed! But there will be a lot of failures, but I’m OK with tha! I won’t use fancy stones... just beach glass for now. Thank you so very much!
Fantastic tutorial, thanks.
+dragonbone5000 thank you. 😀
Very nice video. Thanks for uploading it.
😀
Beautiful
Thank you 😁👍
wonderfull thank you so much.
😁👍
When making twisted wire, I get a standard household (screw in) hook and place it in the drill. I clamp the two ends of the wire together in a vise. Hook the wire and pull steadily to straighten it with the drill before twisting. You do not want hard areas in the wire before twisting. Pull the drill with strength and start twisting.
Also, before I solder a bezel in place, I always place the misshaped bezel around the stone and use a bezel rocker to work the bezel into a perfect match to the stone. The stone should "nearly" fall into the bezel if you get it right.
Thank for posting the videos. I enjoy watching good informative material such as this. Better than TV any day ;)
Thank you for all that useful info, I'm sure it will help out people looking through the comments 😁👍 also I'm happy you found my video interesting haha.
