Going to see if counseling will fix it. Been married for 24 years. Don't know if I need to leave or stay. Don't want him to be mean to this baby I know God wants me to raise

I've been in pain every day for 40 years. I find that focus on people other than me helps. When I am sharing my faith with someone or serving someone, I am not as focused on my pain. It doesn't go away, of course, but I care less. Making others important was Jesus' example in Philippians 2 and 4. It's not easy; it goes against our nature to be self-centered. But if we are about our purpose of loving others, He'll help us do that. My other advice is to not eschew medical help, as some will direct you. They think you are somehow weak or that medicine is evil, or other crazy ideas. Those people who condemn others for seeking help from the medical community are, in my opinion unhinged. Luke was a doctor. If that were wrong Jesus would've told him so. I have had to work with my doctor for a while but we've found a prescription that is a preventative for migraines but cuts down on the severity of my overall pain that's caused by my deformed spine. I have all kinds of muscle and nerve symptoms from that every day and they haven't gone away, but I find that they're lessened. It's taken years but I think we have this. I consider my doc and the last on-call doc I saw to be blessings. I thank God for them and for His presence in my suffering. Right now I'm losing feeling in my hands from typing this and yet I can still praise Him because He is always good and my suffering is temporary, but can be somewhat mitigated. Paul had a "thorn in his flesh," too, some kind of medical affliction. God sustained him as he watched over other disciples and did his best to help them. It's all about trying to focus on others but also be humble enough to accept help from others.
