- Carl Froch and Tony Dodson weren't each other's biggest fans, and they weren't afraid of saying so. When they clashed for the British and Super Middleweight titles in 2006, Froch let his gloves do the talking, and defeated Dodson in a third round TKO.

weird seeing Froch this young. What a career he went on to have
I like the oldschool feeling of the production, better than the flashy matchroom shite
Take your hat off to Froch, undeniable power. He is a legend. Good luck to him. Ps love him extra with £800 bet against groves 🙃😜
€800 on the cobra in front of 80,000 at wembley 💪💪💪
I watched Froch during his first few fights when zi lived in Englandany years ago. I moved back home to Ireland and I used to tell all my mates who loves boxing about this guy from Nottingham called Carl "The Cobra" Froch and they used to slag me off saying he would never get above British title level but I always knew he would go to the top. He had a granite chin just like Stave Collins had. Froch was classier looking in the ri g though. The thing with Collins was he could fight as a counter puncher or attack fearlessly because he could take any punch thrown at him and both these guys proved their class over long careers
They never backed him to go far and his resume wasn't management planned it was a crusade
Well said mate .I'm from Liverpool and we love our boxing but even when Froch fought Dodson I knew CF was the better man and I enjoyed his career. He's a shy guy who comes across as conceited in interviews but i my opinion that is mostly nerves and he's a modest guy out of the spotlight. Steve Collins is a legend. I love that he walked out of the round table thing with RJJ after calling Jones out for ducking him. Absolute beast.
Back when both fighters could pull a proper entrance and set the atmosphere and charge it
What's the music at the beginning?
Sounds EPG.
Dave Ulliot saying, If i was made out of chocolate i would have eaten myself this morning.
CF, one of the best ever a true legend 👍
Froch was never a fancy dan he was a warrior groves did a lot of talking well froch answered him
Carl was a genuine hard man
"Really fatal" as opposed to just fatal....lol
Him the lyrical gangsta, till he met Froch.😂😂😂😂
Back when ring intro's still had good music....Hat's off to the Cobra..
All my life jim watt has been the most irritating commentator. So negative. Then when his victim of negativity wins he becomes a hypocrite. So glad i dint have ti listen to his negative voice ever again
Jim Watt is awful. But by FAR the most annoying boxing commentator is SHOWTIME's Mauro Ranallo AKA Mr. Hysteria.
BingoBango bongo 100% agreed!
uk commentators the worst in the world. negative negative negative should of should of should of. Never getting excited about what is actually happening
@@franqueworren7323 you'll get on well with Jim Watt
@@franqueworren7323 Don't like UK (tv) commentators, they are afraid to get excited and emotional. They constantly emphasize what could of happened rather than enhance the excitement of what IS happening. It's like listening to someone moan while the action is on. For football Gary Neville is the worst. AMAZING pundit awful commentator
Fair play to Dodson for getting over the adversity of his car crash and getting himself back into the ring 🙏
Froch knew it was over the moment he he connected to that area of the body.
You can feel the opponent's body buckle when you connect there. There's nothing they can do.
Different levels.
Froch eats fighters best punches like hes eating a cheeze itz!
No fuckin way froch actually showed head movement in that Brian Mggee fight?!
Froch his biggest asset was his whiskers, if he didn't have that solid chin he'd of lost a few fights, plus he could punch a bit too.
Old school fighter, world class chin and power and actually a decent jab but his defence and movement was basic.....but that's what made his fights so exciting !
"Put the jab in his boat".: McCracken. For any none Brits wondering what this means, feel free to ask.
Carl always had immense power that came from his core strength....................I think he is still, STILL one of the most under-rated GB fighters...................I've always measured fighters with this simple question , could Carl have mixed it in any era..........yes.
Back then most boxing pundits said froch would only be at British champion level and wouldn't go on and win a championship belt of the world, ,how wrong can you get lol Carl must feel so vindicated
And even less would've predicted he would finish his career with a KO infront of 80,000 at Wembley
Carl overated? I don't think so. Only beaten twice. The first defeat was " avenged" in a return match, and the other loss was to Andre Ward who is surely one of the most outstanding fighters of this century, and I'm pretty sure that if an ageing Bernard Hopkins could give Calzaghe lots and lots of problems, then a peak Ward would have beaten Calzaghe handily.
Well beaten by Kessler George groves schooled him for most of their fights Jermaine Taylor had him beat and you believe he would have beat Joe in his prime
@@michaelmoran9399 Why is this reply highlighted when the writer's answer is nonsense? i.e. I didn't say Carl would have beaten Joe.
@@musik102 it looks like you know your boxing I agree he wouldn't have beat him 😁
@@michaelmoran9399 Well, I didn't say Carl would have beaten Joe, but I also didn't say that he wouldn't have beaten Joe! However, I don't think Carl had the armoury to beat Joe. Joe was too busy, to slick, too everything for Carl to have even won a round against him.
Shut up you absolute fool pmslllll 😂😂😂 joe calzage was unbeatable , carl frooch always made excuces to not fight joe , calzage is the best middle weight ever to come from british iles
*"Constructive critique"*
The best commentators, utilise this method...
"Jim Watt"... Is a man many have learned from.
Is. That. Rab. C. Comuntating..😂
Great video THERES THE POWAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!
actual fight starts 14:47
And ends at 15:47!😂😂
The ring looks tiny
CARL IS FULL OF HATRED ! SICK !
How small is the ring?!
Forget that. How big are the fighters? My pinky nail is bigger than them!
Lol....... Nobody knew at this point wot an absolute elite fighter england had....... Froch Chin like a Volvo!!
chin like a nokia
That Big Froch Hooter brings back memories. Not many rated Froch. Thought he was basic.
6:48 Bill Gates before microsoft took off.
Good old frochy- iron chin iron fists.
Dodders couldn't handle the body shot
Say what you like fro here can have it in or out the ring
@@22conmanz22 he worked security on doors
Carl was an absolute beast would he have beaten Joe Calzaghe we,ll never know would,ve been a cracking fight i think Joe would,ve won on points in a tough fight
I agree totally , Joe on points. But It would have been the hardest fight of both their careers. Of all time.
It was hard to see the killer punch but obviously it must have been a left hook to the body.
I can confirm it was mate 🙈
@@tonydodson4240 Wow!
Carl Froch once told me fought in front of 800 fans fighting Dodson ....
I'm American. But people from Liverpool ( scousers) seem pretty annoying!
Shaggy off scooby do v Jason statham 🤔
Dodson rated 72. ??
@Shack Thanks, I thought there had t be something like this.. he was good.
I'm Irish American and if Dodson is typical of the way paddys act towards brits? Which he probably isnt? But If so no wonder they dont like them! Someone English in the comments help me out.
Dodson is a scouser - an Englishman (from liverpool) ...and not irish.
Liverpool or thereabouts...
@@rahowherox1177aren’t a majority of people in Liverpool. Of Irish descent?
@@CoreyT127 theres quite a few but the majority id as english if they born there.
Jim Watt, hes a worse commentator than he was boxer, i have to turn the sound of when hes talking.
@William Mcphee sorry mate he was shite at both.
Froch is so slow 🤣🤣🤣
Froch was a decent but very overated fighter would have been just another day at the office for Joe calzhagie
Michael Moran overrated bollocks
Agreed.
Joe would off boxed his head off for fun 👍
They didn't fight so you will never know...Calzhagie was a brilliant boxer , But Froch beat the best around at the time. Would have been a great fight .
Overrated? If anything he is massively underrated.
never heard of that dodson fella,,sounds like a widnes wool
