Landline phones these days are ultimately digital. The entire country switched over to digital in June 2009. Not even close to the landline phone of the past being mentioned. True analog landline phones plugged into the walls phone circuitry, and that connected straight out to the telephone poles. reading the comments, i understand i’m not the only one getting those weird links sent to my phone, random numbers texting or calling, and feeling like they’re actively hacking into the phone camera! i am glad we are all discussing this topic & not staying silent about this borderline harassment!
It's been happening for a while. Our govt keeps blaming it all on China (whoch they are guilty of doing it), but our own govt is in our damn business to. They can see everyone we call or text and they have been able to do it for a while. This is why so many people are going back to cheap flip phones. When my contract is up on my iPhone, I'm going back to the cheap flip phone for that reason.
I block my phone camera with a separate app, but I'm putting a lot of faith in it. When I'm not taking photos, my camera is (should be) locked to all apps.
They are sending you those links so that you can click on the link. They send out an email or text blast and wait for someone to click on the link. Your phone or computer is not hacked until you click on that link
Oh yeah, let's have over 90% of cell phones made in China, and then not expect them to know how to hack it. This is why we need to start making our own stuff in America.
Pretty much it seems like we haven’t learned yet. I’m not surprised hell everything that comes to the US is made in china. This does not surprise me but it makes sense of course they did it, they hate the US but they want to makes products for us. That’s the catch right there, why would you want a country to make product for us knowing dammn well they hate us. It’s are own fault you know how to end all of this. Start making are own stuff.
Fact is : They had the backdoor, the decryption, the whole time. They we're asking for apple to green light it so they wouldn't have to say they can decrypt.
Yep! And not only cell phones but credit cards as well. I travel a lot, mostly road trips. On one occasion I was going out of the country, so I notified one of my credit cards that I was going out of the country, they told me, thanks for letting us know but we already have that information. Who told them? I had been planning for months with looking up hotels, pick up, just the whole nine yards, but I never used this card to book anything, so, how did they know?
I was born in 1966 and I liked it when we had phones at home and pay phone stations around our city everything was slow in the early 70s and late 80s?Yeah if you just wanted to go chill at park all day no one would bother you?I miss those days

That is a good assumption to have for privacy safety. It is really the only way you can treat the situation. Save the details for when they show up to meet you. Although it is not possible for the entire population to be monitored live 24/7, as that would require the other half of the population of shift in order to carry that out. That does not get in the way of AI doing that job, ad sending to a live agent if it detects what it was designed to look for.

That's not really how encryption works (hence why it is used so prolifically) first there isn't only one form of encryption but even if you gave the fbi all the physical information there are ways to even then make it impossible to recover even for the person doing the encrypting. It doesn't work like a blockchain that holds information into perpetuity
These phone companies need to come up with a system that can detect hackers with some kinda special code. We pay too much money for these phones for our information to be hacked.
That's....not how cyber security works. We could make your phones nearly 100 percent safe but you will trade access and ease of use of your phone. Every single action you take on your phone would require constant monitoring and multifactor authentication. Think of it like having bodyguards wherever you go. They would need to be present even in the bathroom and everywhere else. Even while you are banging it out with your significant other. There's a tradeoff that needs to be made for having access to a network. As long as there are bad actors, this problem will never go away.

Thinking that your info isn't being seen is your first mistake. Data has to go through a server. Im just sick that my info gets hacked dang near every week by someone new i get a letter every week my info was leak and all they wanna offer is free monitoring. That's unacceptable 😤
@latetotheparty7551 no, there is no perception of privacy. People don't realize even going into someone home, they have the legal right to video record you as it's a private residence and you have no perception of privacy other than the bathroom. Anything you post, doesn't go away even though you delete it. Social media companies keep the data as to why the Fedz can retrieve information in criminal cases such as Diddy. When texting someone, those texts can be forwarded to others as well as pictures. So, when I send or post stuff, I do so knowing there is no perception of privacy.
I not even worried about someone reading my texts or listening to my phone calls. They've probably doing it since day one. Just don't be bugging my house.
Sprint has a backend website where without a warrant they can access your messages and listen live to your voice conversations. They also sell access to companies that compile your data for use... for nefarious purposes. This is not uncommon. This is a large money maker. The government pays for access and so do these corporations. That's why they won't.
If you add FB or the tiktok app. It ask you to give us access to your contacts video and audio. If you select no or deny it will not let you download the app. So apps force people to give them access to your phone
I like how these companies be like well you need to use our VPN systems where you have privacy and security but at the same time now you have all my information stored in your system . so it's a no win, someone's always going to have all your information somewhere in their system
Depends on the vpns country of origin sometimes they have more security or keep alot less information. Similar to how people bank in other countries for certain reasons but of course there are always potential problems as a result to doing it that way as well
This is my concern also! We would be logging all of our info into apps that someone runs! The phone companies should protect their product and customers!
Because they have supposedly been vetted. I know with a VPN, u can be anywhere in the world, even if youre not. Some people use them as travelers because when they try to access certain things outside the US, sometimes that access is denied, but the vpn can say you are still in the US by the IP address, and still have access.
That’s Reese with the Receipts. This gives me the same questions honestly. Why can’t our government do better to protect us. There’s the CIA and the FBI. They have spy networks. Hell they spy on their own citizens. Why can’t they protect us. Just crazy and lazy to me!!
@wadek798 that's if you arecselecting an entry point in the US. There are a few ways for someone to know where yiur IP originated from. Leaking is one way and shit vpns will leak
That’s so crazy! That really scares me because I’ve actually gotten numerous letters this past year stating that my information was taken by different cyber attacks. Two of them are even my doctors’s offices. I don’t feel like my information is safe at all anymore. SMH!

RUclips knew that I was sitting eating a fresh cocoa pod alone in my house tonight and suggested videos on cocoa pods and the increased cost of chocolate because of cocoa pods increased cost. The average person does not know this. Well, well, well, move to so-called encrypted apps where the government is able to decrypt your messages, yeah, right. Don't be so gullible. QED
@ The FBI has to go to that company that owns the app and try to get them decrypt the app and in most instances they have to go through the court to get authorization to do that as a complex process The case of the gentleman and the iPhone . The FBI couldn’t access the iPhone they did everything they could and they couldn’t access the iPhone. The court refused and they had to take it out of the country somewhere to be decrypted. I may be wrong in my description, but it happened. I will try to make some research about that case it’s been several years and the government don’t just have access like that. Something must be wrong and they have to go deep before they can get into that access and usually the company is involved.
One thing I have learnt in this life anything humans create another can always counteract it or use it to their own intentions. We live in a system of dualities. Where interaction and counter interaction is the norm.
I keep getting texts from "Amazon" stating that they had an issue with my address. The thing is is that I hadn't ordered anything through Amazon. Then, a few days ago, I received a text telling me that I'm being sued, and, they also mentioned the Shoshone Indian tribe, in which my grandmother was Shoshone. I didn't click on either of the links in the texts. I reported the Amazon text to Amazon. I don't know who to contact in regards to the Shoshone text where they mentioned suing me.

The cell phone providers will give law enforcment officers your data with or without a court order or your permission. Also, NEVER plug your cell phone into a free charging station without turning off your phone. Some scamers uses phony public charging station to get your data off of your phones. Never send personal data (Banking or password changes) on a puble Wi-Fi network without using a VPN (Virtual Private Network) client on your mobile device. Although you are still connecting to the cell phone providers servers, using a VPN client will encrypt your data on their servers. Paying for a VPN service is the best way to go in protecting you data. Most APPs will want full permissions to contacts, camera, micphone, location, etc on your phone. Question these requests to yourself before you give a blanket "Yes" to the permissions. Some APPs don't need full permission to these functions on your mobile device.
Forget about photo's and day-to-day communications... we use our phones to authenticate access to banking transactions, purchasing online, medical information, email, etc. Then, many have credit card data stored on their phones.
"They" have been listening since the Patriot Act. Better yet since the 1960s and even earlier. So it wouldn't surprise me that other countries are doing it. (Cough, cough, the cold war, cough, cough.)
She didn't explain very well. A VPN is a Virtual Private Network. It basically hides you and keeps your IP (Internet Protocol) address hidden while you play mobile games, scroll social media and check bank accounts. I highly recommend you DON'T go to any website that requires a password while you are logged into a public WiFi.

You get an emergency call from a hospital, that you daughter had an accident, and if you don't sent xyz dollars they can't save her life. Similar stories happen all the time, and the older generation plunder their bank account for this. Your son is OK for dinner, then someone knows its save to break into his house at that time. You are never save, with or without a bible.
You guys are missing the point. Its not about the actual messages sent. They have access to EVERYTHING on your phone. Meaning if you shop online, pay bills online, check your bank accounts. They see it all because the companies keep all of your data. Theyre not hacking you directly, yet. Theyve hacked the telecoms and gotten all of your data. Encryption is needed so the data stored on the server is private.

It’s been happening to my friend for a long time. Just like Roland said, doesn’t matter if a person buys a new phone, the person is still being hack
This has been happening to me for years It started around COVID like all the other sketchy BS
That part. 💯
Pretty much it seems like we haven’t learned yet. I’m not surprised hell everything that comes to the US is made in china. That's not really how encryption works (hence why it is used so prolifically) first there isn't only one form of encryption but even if you gave the fbi all the physical information there are ways to even then make it impossible to recover even for the person doing the encrypting. It doesn't work like a blockchain that holds information into perpetuity

How do you detect the undetectable? Spain you're going extinct. Cheaters always lose.

That's....not how cyber security works. We could make your phones nearly 100 percent safe but you will trade access and ease of use of your phone. Every single action you take on your phone would require constant monitoring and multifactor authentication.

The FBI has to go to that company that owns the app and try to get them decrypt the app and in most instances they have to go through the court to get authorization to do that as a complex process

The FBI couldn’t access the iPhone they did everything they could and they couldn’t access the iPhone. The court refused and they had to take it out of the country somewhere to be decrypted.
I may be wrong in my description, but it happened.

Don't know exactly what you are referring to but clear the cache of the apps you use the most if it's running slow. Install Malwarebytes free version or paid version and scan for any malware that might have gotten installed.
me too. I always turn my phone off and then restart it.
I know they watching it be doing Hella shit to troll them😂😂😂
Google was sending me time travel which scared the hell out of me, for example, I get to work on a given day, I receive information asking how my stop at a McDonald's store and my visit to a shopping center, I stopped at both places to pick coffee and newspaper, That is a clear invasion of privacy. Surely, My phone interacted with their WIFI.

Anyone who wastes their time reading my text messages must be truly bored.
