Havent played it just glad micah got it and landed face down ... over him calling out arthur to be a man ... well at least arthur died face up and seen the sunrise one last time.....
Micah is legitimately such a well written and interesting character. He’s probably the closest to being a legendary gunslinger like arthur and john in the whole game, only difference is that the way of life turned him completely hardened and destroyed his morals. Imagine this guy if he actually had a conscience or good heart. He’d be unstoppable force.
That’s the whole point. Micah was very well a better gunslinger than Arthur. But his heart lead him to use it on women and children, rather than bears and monsters like Arthur did. Both Arthur and Micah were “monsters”, both really scary, but Arthur was the only one who had the heart to stop another monster.
@@tristenmccolley-tb1zuI think you are correct even though I want Arthur to be better soo bad. John is definitely at the bottom of the three. But healthy Arthur is also almost unbeatable.
I hate to admit it but micah was a good gunslinger but no 💀 not even close to arthur. Escoecially not healthy arthur. Healthy arthur solos micah easily
John truly has his emotions in check, even in the first game he never lets his enemies get in head. Micah legit threatens to kill his whole family and taunts him about how he killed Arthur yet John doesn’t do anything stupid. He was trained well.
I like the parallels between the epilogues ending and Arthur’s ending: *How Micah dies on a mountain looking at a view the same way Arthur does, but more so in a comedic fashion rather than the contemplative manner that Arthur died in, showing how little he cared about life and the people around him and that he ultimately could never be redeemed. *How John says ‘I-…I-,’ speechless, the same way Dutch was speechless when Arthur was dying. Maybe showing how a part of him blames himself for how the gang fell apart and the speechlessness was guilt manifesting itself, the same way Dutches guilt at realising his own betrayal of the gang manifested itself in those final moments with Arthur. *How Sadie’s laboured breathing, sounds eerily similar to Arthur’s when she’s shot, representing how she fought her demons like Arthur did in his final moments, but lived showing how she overcame her’s and Arthur couldn’t and that perhaps she overcame her demons because of Arthur. *How Dutch not speaking here, is more so a flex of his charisma and mystique rather than the total deconstruction of his character which was shown in the final chapter, as though he is perhaps a new character here.
I’m honestly surprised at Dutch Not for double crossing Micah but for not getting the gang to tahiti sooner. We know Dutch had a lot of money by the time of beavers hollow. He had $40,000 which you’d get if you decided to go back for the money at the end. Honestly isn’t 40,000 dollars enough to get like 20 people to tahiti or Australia? Like 100 dollars each and you’d still have half of the money left for business startup. Like fr Dutch what the fuck
I think Micah had already managed to get so far into Dutch’s head and manipulate him so badly, so he was so confused because of Micah that he genuinely didn’t know if he should trust Micah’s side or Arthur’s side, so he never managed to decide. In the end it all comes back to Micah.
Because Dutch had no plan, he was a killer and a criminal, all his words were to manipulate the gang. When Hosea died, the evil side of dutch came out in a more clear way. He wanted money and chaos, and micah offered him
It wasn't about the money anymore, it was about the change of the world and trying to prove it wrong. Which dutch did try very hard to do but was ultimately impossible
TB was the slow poison that killed Arthur. Micah was the slow poison that killed the gang. At least, in the end, Dutch and John got to keep the disease from spreading to anyone else.
This is the greatest game of all time.....the side stories allow you to give arthur a glimpse of the life he couldve had. The gate i felt for Micah is so real
I like how even for a hardcore douchebag like Micah he doesn’t cower in fear like all the cunning antagonist in many stories. He just take his death so casually like “eh whatever” then drops down to die

Just roaming around the country side on my horses and hunting as much as I please.
I can't believe some people say his death is bad ass he gets shot tries to be cocky and dies meanwhile Arthur beats the dude in a fight while literally dying and John takes a whole firing squad worth of shots and remains standing for way longer Also the only reason Micah won is because Dutch saved him otherwise he'd be looking like Sean
He was embarrassing John here that Sadie had to intervene. And when Dutch shot him, he even kept up with John's dead eye long enough to raise his guns. That's as badass as it gets.
This literally let's me see how impressive Arthur was, Micah has John Cornered who was faster then the best gunslingers in the first Rd. But Micah has him Cornered and Arthur was known as the Enforcer meaning the muscle. He outshot everyone except Dutch.
I never really liked this scene. Dutch has zero motivation for shooting Micah at this point. We know Dutch places a lot of trust in his "I had a PLAN!!" and even his love for Arthur wasn't enough to shake that faith. He and Micah have a plan at this point, so it would take some pretty strong persuasion to move him off of that path. In this scene, John doesn't really give him a persuasive argument, just a lot of "Come on, Dutch!" There should have been some way to prove Micah betrayed them to Pinkertons, or at least something to shake Dutch's faith in him. As it is, its just a "Surprise" stunt by the game designers when Dutch shoots him. Oh, damn straight we loved it when it happened,! But the more I see it, the less I like this scene.
I answer 11months later but i think that Dutch and Micah met in 1907 and teamed up to retrieve Blackwater money but Dutch had in mind to kill Micah afterwards because he needed someone to blame for the gang’s downfall ( and avenge arthur , his « little redemption » in a way ) since he’s a crazy egocentric narcissist bastard and couldn’t bear and assume that weight. Hope that make sense.
