Hi Inga. I always get a happy face on when I see that you have a new podcast for us. I love your new creation that you are designing yourself. Those little cables are so intricate and beautiful. Looking forward to see your progress next time. ❤❤❤

You always have so many incredible projects on the go and so many great finishes. Love seeing the little knits too. I wish you luck going back to work. That is not an easy thing to leave your so young child. I bet she will have so much fun and they do need the interaction with others their own age. I hope you both make out well and I look forward to more podcasts.

I made a vest out of that exact Fisherman Wool yarn and I love it. After washing it is quite soft, I was very surprised about that. My vest is very warm. Thank you for this video.

I live in the US and recently thrifted two skeins of the same Lion Brand marled fisherman's wool... think I paid $5! I was able to get a size 2 Persephone sweater by Liv Ulven with over 100g leftover... I knit it at 17 st gauge which looks great to me. Love that yarn! Light and airy and doesn't pill much at all in my experience :)

Best of luck to you on Motherhood Phase 2. It will be challenging but know that Nelle will be very warm (in all her handknits) and well cared for. My kiddos are 40 and 43 and I'm still parenting and knitting for them so this transition is one of so many you will face. I wouldn't change parenting and knitting for anything!!!

Check your needle size on the Chiao Goo needles. I bought a set and I found some months later that I had 2 US size 3 needles and no size 2. I did not complain to them because it was months after the purchase and I no longer had the receipt.

Hi Inga, I enjoy your podcast very much. I have the same Lion brand marled fisherman’s wool and made Snowflower west by Pia Trans, I highly recommend that pattern and if you want cardigan instead it is easy to add sleeves.

Lovely catching up with your beautiful creating and passion for all things wool!
I’m celebrating that you treated yourself to the fabulous chiagoo red lace full set. I did the same several years ago and have unwavering gratitude for them.
Sending you all best wishes and love for this huge transition of you heading back to work. Our daughter did the same two weeks ago. It is absolutely mixed and big adjustments for everyone.
May you find some unexpected joys in returning to work as our daughter has. ❤

Lovely episode! I love that you’re learning to sew too!
I started sewing with pants for my son when he was a baby too. I used the Baby Pants by Made By Rae patterns. I think there’s newborn and “big butt” pants for babies with cloth diapers and they’re very easy. You can absolutely do a quick search and find them. I am sure she likely has other options as well, because these go back to probably circa 2010.
When you get the PDF patterns you tape the pages together and choose a size to cut out and then transfer it over to your fabric, either by tracing with a fabric pencil or just weighing it down and cutting around it. Very easy! Also check out SewLiberated - I am pretty sure she had tutorials on her blog back in the day too.
Excited to see your progress! Happy sewing and knitting! 🖤🥰🖤

Hi Inga, I can relate to the urge of getting a kind of grip (clearing needles or something of that sort) when there is a change of 'wind' coming: ideas, wips, longing for spring and Nellie going to kindergarten and you in the middle of it.
Good luck with sewing! I did see some very helpfull comments already! Happy knitting and thank you.

Linen fabric: before you use it wash it at the highest setting and then put it in the dryer. Linen can shrink up to 15%, you want that to happen before you cut it.

My absolute favourite children's pattern designer is ohmeohmysewing they have a fabulous variety of styles and then a great starter pattern for an adult pattern is rosery apparel who has a free pajama shorts pattern that's meant for people who are brand new to sewing and she also has a lot of videos showing exactly what to do step by step for various patterns and techniques
Also remember to wash your fabrics before doing any cutting and sewing in case they shrink!

Amazon sells an old book Kwik Sew Sewing for Babies that I used to make all of my sons' clothing when they were little. It is by Kerstin Martensson. She also wrote Sewing for Toddlers and Sewing for Children. The book came with a master pattern printed on both sides with all sizes in the range. You use tracing paper to lay on fabric and cut out the pieces. It is possible to make a pair of pants with just 1 pattern piece (a front and back) with elastic to hold them on. I know you could do this!

Congratulations Inga on episode 100!!🎉 What an amazing feature! I have followed you since ep 2 or 3 I think, always loving your content. ❤ About the fabrics. I love knitting and I'd want to love sewing with my sewing machine as well...but I don't. 🙈 Still I managed to sew myself a Pansy Dress, designed by Rosery Apparel. She's got a very beginner friendly instructions video here at RUclips and the pattern is an instant download that you can print and tape together. I've heard a lot of people gush about the Hinterland Dress from Sew Liberated, too. It seems very versatile, and you can make several different dresses from one pattern by choosing different sleeves, etc.
Go girl! You can do it!
Love from Linda, knitting midwife in Sweden
Ps. If you make a dress out of the beautiful gingham fabric, you can match Lærke from fibertales. 😄

Inga everyone uses paper patterns to cut out the pieces that you sew together! I wonder if your fabric stores carry them. Let me know, as I have all the ones I used to sew for my children and are easy! I will send you them! 😁 Each pattern comes with a size range.

    • @julieknitsandspins
      @julieknitsandspins 7 часов назад

@ yes they come in an envelope and are like tissue paper. Cut apart the individual pieces so you can lay them out on the fabric. They have sales here for like .99-1.99. Simplicity brand are the ones I started out with and I know you could easily sew them!!! Don’t have to use a printer!
