I have to admit I have only one Benchmade; I picked up a double edge Pagan in the sale earlier this year when it was discontinued and love it. I have a long-discontinued multitool model that covers my other needs.
while watching all these awesome videos one thing comes to mind everytime: as a european resident i keep hoping you guys will do a "europe" legal edc/tactical video or something along those lines, because knife laws are pretty strict around here that would mean: no otf's, no auto's, no assisted opening knifes. seems very unlikely for that to happen but i keep my fingers crossed.
You, fair reader, are not wrong! I had recently found myself thinking the same about my region- and I'm just in the south eastern U.S.- which is in many ways VASTLY different from the west coast. @ethandrew7319 "Laws" are interesting things to compare region to region: In GA- a "minor disagreement" between friends that gets "a little heated" becomes viewed as "assault with intent" when visiting NV. That said, I don't think you'd call my state's attitude towards weapons restrictive compared to CA or NY since Kennesaw city residents are required to HAVE a firearm. But I haven't known anybody who willingly travels inside the Greater Atlanta Perimeter without necessity since I was a kid. That area is like a general admission concert - you can get as close to the stage as you are big & brave. So I think it's a matter of picking your problems. I could be wrong, but I think the only restriction on cutting tools here is 12inch limit on machete.
My uncle uses them and he re sharpens them when he gets home. Out on the field though it's nice to have razor sharp blades on hand the entire time without needed to take a sharpening break

So, what brought me to this particular video is I'm looking for a new benchmade for EDC. Funny, my knife was mentioned, which prompted me to comment. I've been carrying the super freek daily, pretty much since it's released. Biggest knife I've ever carried, excluding hunting or being in the woods. Now I'm looking at sizes because I do not want anything smaller. I love it the blade size, the handle size, and all of it. I'm only looking to just change it up. I have several bugouts, and the biggest reason most love them I do not. I don't care for the slim light profile. Good vid, guys, even a year later!
I bought the northfork a few years ago with some REI dividend money. It has never left my pocket since and no knife I’ve had tried to replace it with has even compared and I keep coming back to the northfork.

I have had several and given many as gifts. My fav is my Osborne. My 2nd one ( 940 ) I got because I lost my first. Have lost 3 benchmades through the years . I am sure who ever have found them had a great day.
I absolutely love Benchmade's knifes. I picked up a CLA and Pagan a few months ago and I EDC them. Next up will be a 940, then an Infidel or Autocrat. 🇺🇸
My boomerang knife is the Kershaw Skyline. To his point, I've bought 4. Sometimes one of the old lost ones makes a comeback, just to be gone in a few days. It's like I get visited by my past Kershaw Skylines every once in a while. I just accept it as a part of life now.
I won’t even go to 5, although I’m excited that the Mediator might make my list one day. Favorite two benchmade knives: #1 spot is held by the large griptilian 551-1, grey G10, 20CV and blue accents. I’ve never owned such a comfortable smooth knife with tolerances like it. #2 is the orange handle/Black D2 Mini Barrage. Though I would have preferred a G-10 handle, the snap action is perfect and for a smaller knife it’s very ergonomic. I own about 7 benchmades but those two will never be replaceable.
LOVE Benchmade knives and own several. My 1st purchase was my Black Class Ares folder and then Black Class Nimravus fixed blade with Kydex and Carbon Fiber sheath. That was just over 20yrs ago now and STILL have both in my collection and in great shape. I carried the Ares religiously as my EDC for around 4 yrs and while deployed carried the Nimravus which saved my life more than once. Not the best tool steel being 154CM, but held there edges well and sharpen easily. As far as the Bugouts are concerned I think they are good knives and 1 step above the Blue Class Griptilians everyone has come to love. Still prefer my 940 the most out of all my Benchies and even have some of their early 90's classics like the Spike which was gifted too me and a Leopard as well I got for $5 at a tag sale 5 years ago now. What a steal that was..Wasn't in great shape but I refurbished them both.
The only knife I’ve ever lost was my 940. I spent months looking for it. Hope turned to despair. One day when visiting one of my workplace businesses, I asked the manager where I can find scotch tape. He pointed to a drawer ... and as I opened it, I recall recall angels singing and a beam of light illuminating the room from the drawer. My long lost 940, found.
I replaced the handles on my saddle mountain skinner with some chunkier purple hear ones. Massive pain because purple heart is hard as stone but i think it was more than worth it
oh thank you! I saw the no bugout tag and had to watch! Thumbs up. I Think its a great design with a MAJOR flaw. The stinking plastic handles with inadequate support. I cant justify a bugout at that price and then aftermarket G10 scales to make it properly strong.
So that is why it is called the boomerang! It is true, I lost mine for about 2 months until someone said I should check the couch arm. Sure enough, found it there. Happy happy happy!
I just bought a mediator from you guys. Waiting on it to come in the mail. Unfortunately I ordered it the Sunday before this big snow storm and arctic cold front came in and hit East Tennessee.
I bought my first knife with my first pay check from my first job it was a Benchmade mini griptilian it fits in my hand great. I also just ordered a custom set of scales/pocket clip/bead with my second paycheck
Lets not forget the Snoody or the Pranster! You absorbed Lone Wolf. Had a D2 Auto and had my buddy's son hold it as $200.00 collateral for a couple of weeks. He said don't tell my dad we're doing this. I said ok. I told him to give me a few more days after said date. Short story long, I told him I had the money and he never answered my calls. Ran into him with his dad and he had that deer in the headlight look! Looked at him in disgust and to this day, never told his dad his son is a jerk! He kept the knife. It would've killed my buddy had I made a scene. That hurt me more than any knife I've parted with.
I'm 14 and I saved up and bought my first really nice knife at 13 and it was the mini crooked river it is absolutely amazing

Top 5 Benchmade knives.
1: Bugout 535
2: Bugout 535 GRY-1
3: Bugout Gold Class
4: Bugout 535 BK-2
5: 533 mini Bugout
That simple.
LoL
Love the bailout.
How did it end up there?
Lost mine 3 years ago Still waiting for the boomerang!
"As close as you can get to an auto 940" he says.
Fast forward to September and we have the 9400.
Just bought the superfreek today 🙌🎉
Great video! I don’t have a Benchmade knife yet, but I’ve been trying to decide which one should be my first. Some great options to pick from.
Anybody remember the AFCK? An awesome Benchmade! Currently carrying the CLA and love it!
I've still got my original ats-34 afck and the axis lock d2 version as well.
Great knives!!
I replaced the handles on my saddle mountain skinner with some chunkier purple hear ones. Massive pain because purple heart is hard as stone but i think it was more than worth it
Ordered a custom Crooked River two days ago... I’m looking forward to this
oh thank you! I saw the no bugout tag and had to watch! Thumbs up. I Think its a great design with a MAJOR flaw. The stinking plastic handles with inadequate support. I cant justify a bugout at that price and then aftermarket G10 scales to make it properly strong.
benchmade's g10 is so beautiful
the Northfork is my all time fave
💪💪💪
Damn i just bought the Bugout. Was hoping it was on the list.
So that is why it is called the boomerang! It is true, I lost mine for about 2 months until someone said I should check the couch arm. Sure enough, found it there. Happy happy happy!
940-1 carbon and auto Stryker in my rotation can’t wait for the new one 🙌🏻
I just bought a mediator from you guys. Waiting on it to come in the mail. Unfortunately I ordered it the Sunday before this big snow storm and arctic cold front came in and hit East Tennessee.
I bought my first knife with my first pay check from my first job it was a Benchmade mini griptilian it fits in my hand great. I also just ordered a custom set of scales/pocket clip/bead with my second paycheck
Just ordered a Bailout. And my first Benchmade, no less. Can't wait.
