love your videos! im entering my second summer here in anchorage, and am hoping to overcome my fear of hiking alone. i carry bear spray, but was still so terrified last year that i couldn’t do it. any pointers? i’m thinking maybe taking out my gopro could allow me to keep talking at least…any pointers? thank you for sharing your hikes! i’m hoping to do this one as an overnight this year.

Thanks for the support. I kinda jacked up my leg so it will be awhile until I post more videos.
I think the best way to get used to hiking alone is to start on more popular trails. Baldy, Rabbit Lake, South Fork, and Flattop are all well traveled. With more people around you are less likely to run into wildlife. But if you are by yourself on a less popular trail just try to be noisy so you don’t surprise any animals. Also I would recommend looking into the statistics. There is a very low chance of actually being attacked by an animal.
O one other tip is look up what to do if you do happen to run into an animal. I hope that helps.
