That’s what happened on my Golf when the alternator cable got corroded, got really really hot and actually melted the fuse box and low resistance on the cable. It actually didn’t charge the battery and it blew the fuse. Glad I got it home safely and not on the roadside otherwise I’m stuffed! I replaced the fuse box including the alternator cable and no voltage drop! Fully charging again! Somewhere between 14.1 to 14.5V. Glad that’s out the way now and fixed permanently! Great job on the paint on the Mondeo by the way Gary! 👍
Hi Gary and Martin, That was a cracking job, One thing I’d like to see before you do another paint job like this is to get a proper quote off jimmy. It looked like you saved a good £400 there.
You just reminded me how much I hate Reggae 🤣🤣🤣. I need to pop round or you come to mine for an inspection 🧐 Given detailing is my hobby, would love to see this please. Nice job yet again. Much love from your friendly Neighbourhood Goth! 🤘🤘

@@ProjectMan ok i have an st220 as well and its my main driver at the moment im going to be doing a lot of work to it when i get the money to do it. Ill tell u what i want to do to it i told retrorestore as well 1 Going to be stripping the whole car down take the engine out and everything else and giving the whole car and engine bay a respray like your dad did when he had the triumph acclaim. 2. Put everything back in the engine bay and that's the engine bay finished. 3. Im going to get the scratches and the rust off my arches because ive got a very bad bubble of rust on both my arches so I would have to weld both them out and put 2 brand new arches on them. 4. Take everything out from underneath the car and get the rust from underneath there too vactan it then put everything back underneath the car. 5. Going to paint underneath the wheel arches to get the surface rust out from there too all the way round. 6. Going to get 2 new rear side doors because mine are corroded and rotten so they need replacing aswell. 7. Going to sandblast and powdercoat both subframes. Because when i took it for its mot it came up that the front subframe is rusty and that's getting sandblasted and powdercoated to get it back to normal. 8. Going to get new coil springs for it all the way round and new struts aswell 9. Get 4 new wheel barings in it. 10. Get new big sporty callipers 11. Get a milltek exhaust for it. 12. Respray my front bumper because its got a big massive scrape all the way underneath it. 13. Get 2 new catalytic convertors for it so it keeps the engine management light out. 14. Change the engine oil put a new oil filter fuel filter ail filter and a new pollun filter so no mice gets in my car. 15. Put 2 brand new silver headlights in it. 16. Get a new fancy spoiler for it before I do that would need to drill a couple of holes so it fits. 17. Put some new windscreen wipers on it front and rear because mine have dried out. 18. Get a brand new blue key on it because its like ur dads Mondeo key. 19. Put a new starter motor on it 20. Get some fancy gel plates for it. 21. Respray the bonnet lid because its got some spots of rust on it. 22. Put everything back together and get it insured tax it put a new mot on it. 23. And hopefully it passes and then l can have lots and lots of fun in it. 24. Take it to all the fancy car shows. 25. It will look amazing because my st is black and its a 2006 it will look like when it first came out on the 20th July 2006. Yours and your dads are 2004s and mine is a 2006 and im so looking forward to getting it done so it looks brand new again because im never selling my st220 its my pride and joy. Im looking forward to it ill see u in the next video.
@@retrorestore I thought about that afterwards, if the colour was ever so slightly out losing it on the edge would be the best way to go. But like you said very easy to run through on the edge 😬 You did well it came out very good 😀👍

@@jamies_st220 sounds like you got a lot of work ahead 👍🏻👍🏻
@@ProjectMan yes i have i love my car i want it to look brand new again a nice panther black st220 i love
I noticed you two have the same reg just a number apart
We do 👍🏻
Question, why did you go to the seem and not spray on a flatter area?
A seam is a natural line to hide any possible join rather than trying to do an "in panel" blend.

A better finish using a DeWalt drill mate 💪🏻💪🏻
😂👌
