I was about to pull the trigger as I heard so many nice reviews on physics compared to previous titles (I usually race simulations like ACC, RF2 AMS2 etc) and was really wanting to pick up F1 23. Then I read more on the 59/60fps thing in game and that was an insta no for me. How a racing game hasn't decoupled physics calculations from rendering is just laziness beyond belief. It's not a level playing field and with such a thing, console players would have a distinct advantage online, unless pc players went messing with their video settings. Just wow. Great video tho man. I still may be convinced to pick it up for pure offline.
Hey Brendon What is your calibration settings on your wheel? You did not show. The first item there changed from last game. For me it is being tough task to define the wheel/game rotation.I like to not have to turn the wheel a lot but changing the wheel rotation on game is not making any difference compared to last game where I was running 270. Tips ?
Going to give these settings a go, was unaware of the fps issue and a lot of the other stuff i was striving to make it super realisitc have been killing me on my actual time in game. will report back, thanks!
I agree, I strictly race in cockpit mode myself. TV pod view I think is one of the things that make this appear a bit more "arcade." It's a little harder to judge the cars around you though but Brendon seems to manage fine.
I started playing F1 23 and my time trial times are awful compared to F1 22. I get that the competition on 23 is stiffer at the moment as the casual players haven't switched yet. But still, A track I was in the top 20% in 22 I'm now struggling to hit just the top 50%. 😭

it would be really great, if you could make a video about breaking in this game without ABS...I know a lot of people that have problems with exactly this :)
It's when the car bounces or hits small bumps, the higher your FPS, the higher it amplifes the bouncing. So if you hit a certain kerb at 59fps you may just go over it no problem all smooth, but if you're at 200fps you might bounce into the air when going over that kerb. It's infuriating honestly, especially as someone who has a 270hz monitor, that I have to limit because codemasters keep some physics tied to frame rate.
When you have to cap the fps to 59 anyway why do you put all the settings on ultra low I play on higher settings and having a crap pc and can get away with more than 59 fps at all time haha
Any advice for pit strategy decision making during league races would be awesome. Along with any useful info you have on the new tyre model 😁

Great video, what about A.I. difficulty? Do you use 110? Can you build up to that, I played around with it and so I usually keep it around 60 to 80%

WTF is it with this damned camera pod view? Surely esports pros should be forced to use cockpit view.
Imo, VR would be absolutely amazing to see and the most immersive & realistic way to play the game in E-Sports!
