Thanks for sharing sir. Prof TRS is the guru of my teacher. TRS Sir's music is indeed a mesmerising combination of scholarly genius and musical aesthetics. An inspiring musician.
_pirai aNiyum perumAn- haMsadhvani, Adi, Dr. M Balamuralikrishna (TRS has rendered different sahitya for the charanam)_ Was that charanam composed by BMK? If not, by whom?
Being a stickler for sahitya, I knew that you would comment about this, Dr. Chandra Shekhar Balachandran. Here are the differences between the charanams: BMK sahitya (charanam- please pardon the spelling/grammatical mistakes as I am not Tamilian) vEzhavendanai andi vannanai muraLi gANathiL poruLAnnavanai munnam vanangki anikiyaperakku pinnam nindri tunai tIyum TRS sahitya (charanam- please pardon the spelling/grammatical mistakes) muruganin annanAm andi vannanAm muraLi gANathiL poruLAnnavalAm nambikkai vaithu nADum anbakku thumbikkai yAnavan tunai anru mirukkum Other than that and maybe a few words here and there in the pallavi and anupallavi, TRS has sung BMK's sahitya as it was intended. So it looks like it is a modification by TRS. I hope BMK approved of it when both were alive. After all both TRS and BMK were good friends and admirers of each other's music. I'm enquiring from a disciple of TRS called Mohan Santhanam about this. I welcome the thoughts and analysis from some of BMK's disciples like Ragavan Manian, Rama Varma sir and Thiruvaiyyaru Sekhar (S Mahathi's father) to name a few. But I request that all of you do not post nasty or sarcastic comments. Let us keep the discussion civil. Thank you.
@@JayramSataluri I am disappointed in TRS's liberties with BMK's composition. If he had better sahitya, he should/could have composed his own song; why change someone else's sahitya? It is very disrespectful!
Thank you for posting this.
