I am yet to go beyond the varnam & hamsadwani Alapana...what a pristine voice....pure nectar...the hamsadwani Alapana effectively demolishes the pet notion of 'purists' that yesudas is not creative and has just a good voice ...I hv heard his Suddha saveri Alapana elsewhere too : it is also a very daring yet sweet exploration ...

கிருதி யில் உள்ள வார்த்தைகள் தெளிவாக பாடப்படவில்லை புரியவில்லை பாட்டிற்கு உடன் வாசித்த மிருதங்ககார் பாட்டுக்கு வாசிக்காமல் அவர் தனியாக பாட்டின் மேல் தனி ஆவர்தனம் வாசித்துக் கொண்டு இருக்கிறார் நடை வாசிப்பது இல்லை மாட்டு அடி என்பார்களே அது போல் உள்ளது மொத்தமாக மகாசொதப்பலனான ஒரு பாட்டு ரசிக்க முடியவில்லை.

எப்பேர்ப்பட்ட ஸ்டால் வார்ட்ஸ்.....செம்பை இல்லாத இடத்தில் உட்கார்ந்து பாடுகிறார்...... அவர்களும் இவரை குழந்தை போல நடத்தி காப்பாற்றிவிட்டனர்.....

This i heard live telest relayed in national program of music in 1981 after tiruvayyar festival. Nostalgic. He was 40 years old. It seems he tried to introduce an unpopular raga. 👌👌

Nobody in the Carnatic system would sing the Mahavaidyanatha Sivan's Melaraga Chakra Ragamalika except MS AMMA. One and only MS AMMA would excel in his Magnum Opus.

Ramanathapuram C.S. Murugabhoopathy was veteran Mridangist and accompanied Jambavans of 50s 60s and 70s. Vinayakaram is Ghatam doyen. VVS was long time Violinist of MS AMMA.
