The RCNetwork yes i put the aluminum hub extensions on instead of the factory plastic one's that come with the Jconcepts wheels makes a world of difference!!
Didn't read all the comments but do you think the gears in the transmission need to be replaced or have you encountered any problems yet .......P.S. bigger is better in the monster truck series oh ya plan on getting one tomorrow then slowly upgrade servo and tires first of course
nice review , it's not even close , the new Jconcepts tires and wheel combo is way better. I hope it won't break the truck so much with the new weight being put thru the axles , a thing that would have been nice Rich is the have the actual weight comparisons between the 2 tires combo .. Keep up the good work ..
I already have some upgrades planned...stay tuned! yeah, totally forgot about the weight difference....but they're pretty close. The Axial tires are just like a dense, hard, heavy "rubber" and the JConcepts are almost like a blown rubber
Run the narrower track, put the shocks in the "scale" locations, and drop the stance (front and rear, but lower in the front)level lower links, and you'll have a winner
These have a 12mm hex and the wheels come with three different adapters to adjust the offset from the truck. They should as long as your wheels run 12mm hexes
just had to drop the link to a picture of the real Grave Digger for all of you that say that the stock tire is too small..... they are indeed scale. everyone is too used to Clod size tires which are oversized.
Back in the early days the tires were oversized. I agree monster jam truck have smaller tires in scale than these trucks with the tribute wheels. But if the look doesnt suit you, maybe the added suspension and cushion you get will tickle your fancy, or the grip they have, this tire was meant to be a throw back. . They made several more versions of tires since. And the axail digger body is a noticeable amount smaller then most body's that are on trucks with jconcepts tribute wheels.
Is it different to glue a monster truck tire compared to a short course tire? I can find short course tires being glued but not an actual monster truck tire
Zach Wetmore all the same - the key to gluing is prepping the surface (clean with simple green or windex) and using fresh Tire Glue (anything that’s been sitting or got hot is less effective). Once glued, either tire bands or large rubber bands to keep pressure on the bead against the wheel
I love these wheels, they'll look great on just about any truck. I'm putting them on my Rustler ASAP
Nice! Be careful....that's a lot of tire for a rustler!
now if only they'd go back in stock. got the tires. not the rims.... argh! hahaha. thanks for the videos rcn!
Thanks buddy! yeah, many parts are out of stock...I've been hunting down parts myself
that looks amazing. can't wait to build a custom smt-10 with VP axals.
Nice!
That looks so much better. Always thought the stock SMT10 wheels and tires were a little on the small side.
Thanks T! Yeah, it's like when I had my iPhone 4s and thought that was big.....lol These JC wheels and tires really fill out the Grave Digger
www.google.com/search?q=grave+digger&prmd=visn&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwi9pq_4l97PAhVC7mMKHRHRA9cQ_AUICCgC&biw=412&bih=604#imgrc=2hJ4nq3UWLZW7M%3A
Just got mine in and your right they smell good not like normal rubber and its awesome they dont rub tbe front suspension links love them!
Those wheels and tires make it look more like a real monster truck now!!!
Agreed! They really fill up the wheel wells! lol
Love this wheel and tire combo. Put them on my red cat ground pounder and it looks killer
Nice!
Now that's what I'm talking about! Sold, getting one by Christmas lol oh man that looks so much better!
Agreed! Future congrats on the purchase!
Thanks for the great upload. My rover has a 12mm hex. Would these fit on there? Many thanks
Yes
how does it turn... looks like a servo upgrade. I've noticed in other videos the stock tires have trouble turning on their own.
It turns pretty well.....and yes, I can never run a stock servo
Could those fit around 2.2/3.0 or 2.8 wheel hub for example a Stampede or Slash, or would you need wheel hub extenders?
Nope....The wheel alone is a 2.6" by 4" wheel
What compound did you go within these Rich?. What do you prefer the renegades or firestorms
These look damn awesome
Agreed!
If you can score the white ones they take dye very nicely! Just Dyed a set red and they look great
True!
Sorry noob question 🤣, but would the renegades fit the stock 2.2 rim that comes with the builders kit 🧐
The renegades are a 2.6" wheel diameter tire - they would be too large
much better!!! much more fitting for a monster truck!!!
I agree!
Can these be paint chrome? Would it need a coat of primer first, or is it just direct apply?
I'm sure they can....they'e just a white plastic, so it should stick well,it using the correct paint
Looks like a real monster truck now!!!
Exactly!
Looks so much more scale and why has AXIAL not done anything about the rubbing on the front links and they no it does on all the new SMT10 ?
The offset is what helps. You can also dial down your radio's dual rate to limit hitting the trailing arms
The RCNetwork yes i put the aluminum hub extensions on instead of the factory plastic one's that come with the Jconcepts wheels makes a world of difference!!
I'm getting interested in RC monster trucks but never found one that looked proportioned to me. However Im starting to like this truck/tire combo
JConcepts did a great job on these tires and they seem to be perfect for the GD
Have you tryed putting rear wheel steering in looking in to this for my smt10
Don't really need it....I have open diffs still and the way this thing drives now, it turns on a dime!
I'm getting these for my Tekno MT410!
All Tekno RC's (except EB410/ET410/SCT410) use 17mm hexes
Nice, those wheels and tyres make that monster truck look cool but with those being larger how does the steering servo handle them ?
Come on, Shayen....you know me better than that....Stock servo is the first to go! lol
Lol ok yes just though I would throw that question in, have to say they look awesome they really make the digger stand out.
👍 great
Thanks buddy!
They look great.. Did you happen to get a weight difference?
I did not....but oddly enough, they're not that big of a difference
Didn't read all the comments but do you think the gears in the transmission need to be replaced or have you encountered any problems yet .......P.S. bigger is better in the monster truck series oh ya plan on getting one tomorrow then slowly upgrade servo and tires first of course
Yes, def. Botht he trans gears and the bevel/pinions will need to be replaced when running these tires and brushless power
What compound are you using I seen a blue and gold compound which do u suggest thx
I have the Blue compound, which is the softer of the two. Great for the dirt in this video: ruclips.net/video/io2pOufBjoA/видео.html
do they rub on the links at full steering lock anymore?
I'll have to check that....check the SMT10 community on FB in the next couple of days...I'll have that info and the weight differences
nice review , it's not even close , the new Jconcepts tires and wheel combo is way better. I hope it won't break the truck so much with the new weight being put thru the axles , a thing that would have been nice Rich is the have the actual weight comparisons between the 2 tires combo .. Why does the backend of this truck sit low? Can that be corrected?
Sure, it can.....simple ride height adjustment on the shocks
With the 25 mm offsets I now can't fit the lug nut on. I don't have enough of the Axel to thread the but onto.
I'm running the 25mm offsets as well, with no issues on stock axles
did you try the 18mm offset ? or was the 25mm the only one that would work?
Mince needed the 25mm - as I'm running some aftermarket knuckles
Run the narrower track, put the shocks in the "scale" locations, and drop the stance (front and rear, but lower in the front)level lower links, and you'll have a winner
Thanks for all thin info Jimmy! MY SMT is being torn down as I type and many new components being put on.
The RCNetwork well you can give it to me when you're done.... lol
the wheels are white for dye coloring! do red, or the neon green and they'll be the sexiest tires ever
Very nice Idea
Does this fit the Traxxas Bigfoot? Thanks in advance!
It should...the JC wheels do come with three different offset hubs too!
The RCNetwork
Thanks!
These tires are very hard to find in the blue compound now
You can get them here: www.jconcepts.net/shop/renegades-monster-truck-tire
Dumb question but will they fit on a traxxas stamped ?
They'll probably bolt right on....but I don't have one to test - email JC - they should know right off
will these work on my xl-5 stampede?
These have a 12mm hex and the wheels come with three different adapters to adjust the offset from the truck. They should as long as your wheels run 12mm hexes
theese would work so well on snow
I wish Socal got snow.....
The RCNetwork
see the positive side , you got sand , similar consistency but noones throwing salt at it which lets things rust really fst
just had to drop the link to a picture of the real Grave Digger for all of you that say that the stock tire is too small..... they are indeed scale. everyone is too used to Clod size tires which are oversized.

There a video on how to glue these tires and rims?
I don't have one...but there's a ton out there on YT - search gluing RC tires
Is it different to glue a monster truck tire compared to a short course tire? I can find short course tires being glued but not an actual monster truck tire
Zach Wetmore all the same - the key to gluing is prepping the surface (clean with simple green or windex) and using fresh Tire Glue (anything that’s been sitting or got hot is less effective). Once glued, either tire bands or large rubber bands to keep pressure on the bead against the wheel
I’m gonna put 5th scale tires on mine
I like stock better , those are tô wide , although I do like the tallness of them
They look really good....maybe it's the camera angle////?
is the hex size 12mm ?
For 1/10th, shouldn't they be a 6.6in tire? Still look a lot better than the stockers!
Do you vent your MT tires?
I was able to get these premounted....so not sure on this set, but yes, I would vent
Thanks , is there a certain pattern you would use?
Need them for my clodbuster
Nice!
Looks a little wide... better... but wide.. the real GD has some tire still under the body when you look at the front or back
Thanks Jimmy...good points on the real GD
Put those on a scx10 would be lit
Nice! lol
Who's j and what's his concept?
Just foolin, love monsters, sock vid broseph
Thanks buddy!
I gotta stop watching your videos! You are always trying to make me buy more stuff
Sorry! Keep racing Joker!
Wow
Thanks for stopping by!
Nice tread but I stil think think they look to big
They really set off the stance of the Grave Digger
How the hell does someone say max d wrong?
Sorry, although I've been to one Monster Jam event, the names slip my mind...
I'm sorry but stock wheels looks way better for me, these looks like 1/8 scale on a 1/10 scale mt.
You have to see it person....it really looks great
The craze is because all the old dudes are making bank .thanks to trump..Merica.....
Agreed!
